‘Painful Every Step of the Way’: Top EPA Official Inadvertently Tells The Truth About the White House’s Environmental Agenda

Back in 1992, in his speech to the Republican National Convention, Pat Buchanan railed against the “environmental extremists who put birds and rats and insects ahead of families, workers, and jobs.”

This was widely seen as an unfair caricature of liberal environmental policy in 1992. In 2012, it’s practically a bloodless statement of fact.

The Obama administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has, in fact, been doing its best to validate this description, either through policy or highly revealing slips of the tongue. The most recent of the slips comes from EPA Region 1 Administrator Curt Spalding, who was captured in a video released by the office of Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) telling an audience at Yale University the following:

But know right now, we are, we are struggling. We are struggling because we are trying to do our jobs. Lisa Jackson has put forth a very powerful message to the country. Just two days ago, the decision on greenhouse gas performance standard and saying basically gas plants are the performance standard which means if you want to build a coal plant you got a big problem. That was a huge decision. You can’t imagine how tough that was. Because you got to remember if you go to West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and all those places, you have coal communities who depend on coal. And to say that we just think those communities should just go away, we can’t do that. But she had to do what the law and policy suggested. And it’s painful. It’s painful every step of the way.

Hear the comments from Spalding’s own mouth here:

To Spalding’s credit, he at least sounds regretful that the EPA (according to him) absolutely has to drive an entire industry into the ground for no apparent reason. Nevertheless, this video will do nothing to assuage the image of President Obama as an essentially anti-coal President who is using his EPA to try to strangle the industry – an image that has yielded political humiliation for the President in Appalachia, where coal is one of the leading sources of employment.

One almost feels sorry for President Obama’s sake that “birds and rats and insects” can’t vote…at least, not outside Chicago.

I have a farmer friend who stopped talking to me because I informed him in 08 of what to expect if He kept voting demoncat. He voted for small O and is now suffering much loss due to new regs put on him, including a problem over water on his land. Raising cattle he needed ponds. Now it is costing so much he is selling off the stock but is not allowed to gain the land back for crops. Seems once you put a pond in it will remain so for all time, and even though your family owned the land for generations you have lost all rights to your family land. I told him so. Yet he still votes demoncat and still will not talk to me anymore as I am on the right, conservative. He would rather burn in hell than admit I was right and he and generations of his demoncat family have always been wrong. I say same to the coal miners. If they wish to vote for and keep on voting for the party destroying their livelihood let them eat nonfat cake. Oh yeah, and non salt, under 16 ounces. If you wish to vote for and support tyranny suffer and shut up. You will have my animosity because your terrible choices affect me and mine as well.

Actually, no. It’s simpler than that. Read Agenda 21.

It’s a big read and, in itself, hard to diges, so type Agenda 21 into Youtube, there are plenty of video presentations there that break it down into a form that is easy to follow.

The early vids predict what will happen, and as you watch, you realise that it has happened.

Here is the best one (in my opinion), it is non-partisan and factual. All of the points have been taken directly from the UN’s own publications. It is also an hour and a half long so you will need to bookmark it until you have time to watch it.

rickc34 “When it come to the Jewish vote the Bible says even the elect will be fooled.”

Get it right. The Elect will never be fooled. Neither the KJV nor the manuscripts state this. There is no mention of the voting habits of the tribe of Judah and concerning the Elect it states were it possible even the Elect would be fooled. Note ‘were it possible’. This was about worshiping the antichrist not voting. Best not to talk about the Word if you are unable to rightly divide it.

Thank you for your wisdom and understanding, and for “rightly dividing the Word of Truth” in addition to your longer post!

NOW, BECOME AWARE EVERYONE–If implimented, newly proposed rule changes within the USDA (Dept of Agriculture), will limit and heavily tax and regulate anyone who owns three or more “able to breed” (not neutered), dogs. This change is being put forward as implimented to “control puppy farms” (producers of large numbers of puppies). However, large producers are already regulated the the USDA!

This change would directly affect small breeders of the pets you love, and would ESPECIALLY AFFECT breeders of WORKING DOGS for herding, livestock guardian dogs, hunting, service dogs of all types, and would put undo cost and regulation on individuals, families, small breeders and small farmers who LOVE THE DOGS THEY OWN AND THE DOGS THEY PRODUCE FOR YOU!

Please check out the proposal here: http://www.naiaonline.org/articles/article/the-usda-proposed-rule-and-you

Please comment AGAINST this proposal before the deadline of: July 7th, 2012

Thank you from someone who has produced and trained dogs as pets, hearing dogs, aid dogs for the limited, for police deparments (protection and search dogs), and is now heavily involved in raising sheep in the east U.S., and would not be able to have sheep without the excellent help of livestock guardian dogs–who live with the sheep and think they are sheep, and Border Collies to move the sheep!

      Dr Vel:
I think what rickc34 meant was that the liberal Jews will believe the same lies the luke-warm Christians will. AND, what is behind all this???? We (Jew and Gentile) fight a SPIRITUAL battle (constantly): demons and angels fighting above us for our attention for our sanity, for our reasoning. For example, a demon is whispering in 1 ear and an angel whispering in another. The voice of true reason & truth will be the angel. The voice of half-truths that will seem true and real, will be the demon whispers. UNDERSTAND YET? The Jews will believe those half-truths. However, according to the Bible, Israel WILL NOT BE DESTROYED and Jesus will return and take over, destroying those evil spirits ALONG WITH THE HUMAN BEINGS THAT LISTENED TO THOSE EVIL SPIRITS AND TOOK ACTION AGAINST THE JEWS, which will be against God Himself.

The whole point of rickc34 comment was to say that SOME Jews, the most prevalent we see in the news today (not the Lion of Judah Jews) will be swayed and will cause division among themselves.
I have studied the Bible for over 30 years. It has been my passion, so I can say with MUCH CERTAINTY that NO ONE, not even Satan himself can destroy Israel, not with a nuke, not with a bomb, NOTHING. WHY? Because GOD HIMSELF reigns over Israel and PROTECTS IT IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND. Now, Satan continues to egg on evil men and women to try and divide her and destroy her (Israel), but try as they may, THEY WILL NEVER SUCCEED.

Its Time To Plan How To Split Up America Into Two Separate Nations.

Its futile to try to deal with the rogue and illegal Federal Government anymore. The Federal Government is on the way out. Americans no longer can trust it anymore. There are enough Americans today who still want to live in Liberty and Freedom in a new homeland of their own. We are the same people who stood at Bunker Hill and who signed America’s first law, the Declaration of Independence. Our best days are ahead of us and they may be realized under a new name and a different flag. The price will be high but Freedom and Liberty is never cheap. We have a right to be free men and women.

There are enough of us left to form our own new nation based on the US Constitution but without the flaws we have leaned about. Few American now look on the Federal Government as anything other than a repressive rogue tyrant staffed by tyrants. Everyday we all struggle to comply with regulations and the fear of government investigation. Freedom and Liberty are worth the cost. This should go to the Supreme Court, as this is UN Agenda 21, stealing water rights from people, and claiming man-made ponds are open bodies of water or wetlands. They tried that with a couple when they wanted to build their house in an established community by sayin the disrupted a wetland. This case went to the S.Court early this year or last year. The EPA can regulate your child’s wading pool, the mud puddle in your back yard and everything you do in or out of you bed room. It has more power than any King or Emperor ever had. Actually Sue, what you’re describing is Benito Mussolini-like Fascism, where the central government doesn’t “own” the means of production and distribution of all goods and services like Marxism, but “controls” the means of production and distribution with bureaucratic taxation and regulation.
Oh yes, i believe the current administration, cabinet and plethora of czars have the propensity and desire to turn the USA into a communist oligarchy, but i believe part of their incrementalism is a phasing through socialism and fascism until we “serfs” can no longer resist their assumption of ownership of all means of production and distribution.
Current evidence of the end-game is in the take-over of the student loan program, controlling shares of GM, and the effort to take over the health care insurance industry. Killing the private energy industry is merely an interim step to assuming control of the production and distribution of energy.
In any case, if the American People continue to vote for politicians that promise them free stuff, our individual freedoms and liberties are doomed to become a memory in a egalitarian society where mediocrity and equal misery is the “brass ring” of the oligarchy.

As coal generated electricty is banned our utilitiy bills will be much higher. Unless something is done to stop the madness, Amercians will be paying two to three times more for electricity in just three to five years time.

Here is the rub of the EPA. They killed clean coal into the ground as they are trying to do with all of the natural gas that we in Pa. are enjoying. Range Resources has hired thousands of people along with the other companies that have followed with their products and services. China is opening coal plants like crazy. How will the U.N. control all of those green house gases? The Chinese will put a bullet in your head if you try to stop their progress. Hmmmmmm?

What do you guys think of what Mitt Romney has said?

“I want to initiate a bold, far reaching research initiative – an Energy Revolution, if you will. It will be our generation’s equivalent of the Manhatten Project or the mission to the Moon. This will be a mission to create new, economic sources of energy, clean energy. We will license our technology to other nations and of course we will employ it here at home. It will be good for our national defense, it will be good for our foreign policy, it will be good for our economy.” Mitt Romney 2007
      And what he said here:

      @WestCoastPatriot
I am not a Romney fan and didn‘t vote for him in my state’s primaries but what he is saying actually makes sense to me. He’s talking about developing new energy sources. I don’t see anything wrong with that. He is not talking about cramming it doiwn the tax payers’ throats.

We went from burning wood and peat to a coal powered industrial revolution to a hyrdocarbon based industrial giant. Each one leads to the next.

I don’t have a problem with the government funding research that cannot economically be performed by the private sector. Remember that space technology was the impetus for developing microchip technologies to save weight when launching space craft. That’s a prime example of government creating the impetus for creating private industries.

Studying and developing alternatives before they are implemented is a far cry from what Obama is doing. Romney understands the economic side of business development while Obama only understands Marxist theory which, by the way, has always failed in practice but he can‘t or won’t see that. Romney understands the national security aspects of dependence on foreign energy sources. Obama probably does also. See the following link:

He states we need make sure we burn cleaner coal, not SHUT THE COAL industry down. He still says the same thing. Don’t forget, people were relying on scientists and reports from greedy LIBERAL blowhards like GORE to form opinions on this subject. Since then the BOGUS science has been defunct so many have changed their minds completely on this global warming scam to redistribute funds globally for “social justice.” Maybe in Obama terms, you could say Romney has “EVOLVED?” haha

The Feds cannot support these initiatives any longer, the cupboard is bare. no matter who wins in the fall the number 1 issue facing the survival of the Republic is getting spending under control and chipping away (in large chunks) at the cancer that is the national debt . The Democrats view the current debt load as unimportant to the grand scheme whereas the Repubs are 180 degrees opposite of that view. There is the fundamental difference. Romney is 1 man he can be influenced by US provided WE do our jobs and hold the Repubs feet to the fire. WE have shirked our responsibility for the last 50 years while the liberlas/Dems have not. Think about it. It’s time we became as effective (if not more) as the leftist machine has become in getting it’s agenda passed. What other choice do WE have at this point ?

They are not about saving the planet! They are about control. Everything they do is designed turn citizens into energy eunuchs completely dependent on the government that will ultimately determine what energy source you will use, how much you will use and when you can use it. That goes for all natural resources. Keeping in mind the degradation of the grid, the closing off of as many sources of electricity as possible, yet at the same time pressuring for the sale of electric vehicles, their end game can only be to get as many people out of their vehicles and tethered to high density cities as possible. Only a moron would think this is good for American citizens. I have lost faith in the American public’s ability to think anything through, or to resist the unacceptable.

They are telling the truth about themselves more frequently. They are more confident and aggressive than when they’s lay in the weeds to strike.

I agree with you. The Obama Administration and the EPA are trying to destroy all coal, nuclear, and hydroelectric electric power plants. Bear in mind they have nothing to generate electricity in their place. Not sure what they would do with natural gas. They want to use only wind and solar, which does not generate much power at all and certainly could not be used as a replacement source. These are real job killers.

Wind and solar provide less than 1% of the nations energy needs….clearly aggitating for just these forms of energy is tantamount to suicide for the vast majority (which will include droves of leftists in it’s indescriminate effect). That 1% would be used almost entirely to run the Gov’t leaving the rest of us in the 19th century.

So, what he’s saying is that we should take Obama at his word? Wow, what a novel idea!

I’d like to say I was astounded to hear him say that. Sadly I wasn’t. I’ve come to expect clueless, moronic statements from our highest leaders. “Thingamajig for the furnace” will forever live in infamy next to “we need to pass the bill so they can find out what is in it”.

Now if only the federal reserve or congress would give every citizen 3,000 dollars we could go out and buy that ‘thingamajib”. It would only be 933 billion of printing… It would be better than giving the banks 786 billion for defaulting mortgages, wouldn’t it?
