Palestinian Authority Music Video Lauds Yasser Arafat: ‘Oh AK-47 Make Sounds of Joy’

Palestinian Media Watch, a watchdog group whose sole purpose is to monitor print and broadcast media — particularly put out by the Palestinian Authority, has uncovered a new PA music video honoring the late PLO leader Yasser Arafat.

The lyrics glorify Fatah’s use of violence and lauds the ever-powerful rifle. According to PMW, the video has been broadcast seven times on official PA TV thus far.

The song speaks of Arafat’s life and idolizes him as a model of violence, revolution, and war. It celebrates through words and visuals the violence of the rifle: “Boom out loud, oh voice of the machine gun… Oh AK-47, make sounds of joy.”

The lyrics, in full, are as follows:

“Engrave on the rifle butt the symbol of Fatah’s Al-Asifa
My trigger makes sounds of joy to the Elder (Arafat)
while the rifle sounds aloud
Boom out loud, oh voice of the machine gun,
Yasser [Arafat] lives inside us
[Despite] the day (of his death) on Nov. 11,
the [Palestinian] cause has not died
He is present inside us as an idea and as light,
a fire burning in [our] chest
He [Arafat] taught the whole world how to revolt.
Yasser – symbol of freedom
Oh Elder, I swear by [your] uniform and your keffiya
Oh bullets of the defiant, [your] shot fights 100 [men]
He lived and died in an atmosphere of war,
he crossed the world from east to west
Mahmoud Abbas is on the same path
when it comes to [our] state and identity
We fired the rifle, we faced the storm
We responded to the cannon with a pistol
Using stones, we ignited a revolution and wrote [history], oh Fatah men
On the rifle butt, we have engraved [Fatah's] symbol
On the grip, we have engraved “Arafat”
On the top cover we have inscribed the history of the free
On the barrel – the name of the homeland
The flash-suppressor ignited and burst
Here it is, oh rifle sight
The state is only a few meters away
Oh action-spring, receive and shoot [bullets] continuously
Change the magazine – there are hundreds [of them]
Load it into the chamber
Oh AK-47, make sounds of joy and salute the Elder (Arafat)”

 

Yasser Arafat is, of course, perhaps best known for invoking terrorism and leading the intifadas against Israel. In fact, then-Saudi Prince Bandar once said he was a perpetrator of “crimes against the entire region” when Arafat refused the then Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s offers to establish a two-state solution during the 2000 Camp David summit.

    For the record, Yasser Arafat hasn‘t done anything that Golda Meir didn’t do. There are no “good guys” in the fight between Israel and Palestine–just a bunch of arrogant nationalists engaged in struggle that the Zionists happen to be winning.

      Yasser Arafat’s PLO terrorist was founded prior to the Six Day War of 1967 to attack Israeli tagerts FROM the West Bank. Clearly his motivations were not to liberate the territories from Israel since Israel didn’t control them at the time. His motivations must have been the destruction of Israel and the death of all its citizens.

      You are just missing a brain. This terrorist was the inventor of the suicide bomb. For that the Nobel committee gave him their Peace Prize, which they normally reserve for communists like Barry, Gork, Carter, Nelson Mandela, Kofi Annan, etc.

      Actually the suicide bomb was created by Yahya Ayyash, also known as the Engineer, who was responsible for teaching terrorists how to make suicide vests. Arafat protected him from Israeli justice and later called him a martyr on public TV.

      This is very telling about these people and others who make such public statements. And it is a benchmark of the stark difference between the created civilization of Israel and the barrenness of the Palestine Authority.

      A jackhammer has about as much or more kickback as an AK-47. The difference being one is an tool for creation and the other a tool for destruction. Moreover, an AK-47 only requires a shoulder and finger squeeze. But a jackhammer requires toil, balance, sweat, determination, blisters.

      What if the West forwent jackhammers in favor of AK-47’s? It is an option. But we have not. Because we are producers and creators. God help us and God have pity on our enemies if we reliqunish our jackhammers and rock-drills and only seek to be destroyers.

      If only those who pick up AK-47’s would first pick up a jack hammer. If it is only sound they are after it is an option. But they are not after ‘sounds of joy’…they are after destruction.

    It’s about 2 hours until the Foxnews Iowa GOP debate, Chris Wallace, Megan Kelley and Neil Cavuto have their knives sharpened and are ready with the questions. Several of the candidates will be the point men on crucifying Newt. I’ll give you a preliminary post debate monologue!

    Well it looks like Romney has finally rose to the top, he stayed steady all this time while many other GOP candidates rose and fell. Newt really blew it tonight. One of the things that really killed him was when Ron Paul brought up his military deferments. Newt seemed to be distracted and off balance tonight and not his usual witty quick on your feet guy! While Gov Romney answered all his questions and really rose to the occasion tonight. ………I’m regurgitating by then!

    Now that was predicted the BS tonight in the post debate monologue……and it’s just like we been reading here on the Blaze. I don‘t know why the sheep just don’t let the talking heads and the news media anoint us a King and save all of us from getting out in the cold to go vote! Our nation is really in trouble!

      There is no such thing as a religion of peace. A religion is only as peaceful as those who adhere to it. Islam used to be less monstrous in its violence just as Christianity once slaughtered entire villages. You’d be hard-pressed to find a major mainstream religion that has never been violent. Do they exist? Perhaps. But even they must be vigilant to avoid sinking into violence as so many others have.

      During the Middle Ages there were things called pogroms in which Christians in Europe slaughtered Jews for the simple reason that they were Jews. This practice was still in effect in Russia within the past century. Then of course there’s the crusades in which followers of Catholicism slaughtered Jews, Orthodox Christians, and Muslims. There are many who contend that Jews lived better under Islam in the Middle Ages than under Christians. Under Islam they were considered second class citizens and there were fewer cases of violence than in Christian Europe.

      Those who don’t learn from history are destined to repeat it.
