Palestinian Delegation Thanks Olympic Committee for Denying Moment of Silence to Honor Murdered Israelis

Olympic rings Palestinian Israeli silence

AP

The head of the Palestinian Olympic delegation has thanked the International Olympic Committee for denying, again, requests to hold a moment of silence to honor the 11 Israeli athletes murdered at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

In a letter sent Tuesday to IOC President Jacques Rogge, Jibril Rajoub said any show of solidarity with the victims would constitute “racism.” The Palestinian terror group Black September was responsible for the slayings.

“Sports are a bridge for love, communication and the spreading of peace between nations and should not be used for divisiveness and the spread of racism,” Rajoub wrote, according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

A senior Palestinian Authority official told the Jerusalem Post that Palestinians are opposed to “Israel’s attempts to exploit the Olympic games for propaganda purposes.”

Responding to the letter, a senior Israeli official said that “if the leadership of the PA is not willing to disassociate itself from its terrorist past, and is unwilling to see the Munich massacre as a brutal act of terrorism, then in Israeli eyes there will be big questions regarding their true commitment to peace and reconciliation,” according to the Jerusalem Post.

The London Games kick off Friday.

    So I say for the next olympics, we all start our own “country” the way that the Palestines’ have… We will call it the C.U.S.A. (Constitutional United States of America) since by then, the U.S. will have truly become the U.S.S.A. Under fuhrer Obamas Iron rule…

    {A senior Palestinian Authority official told the Jerusalem Post that Palestinians are opposed to “Israel’s attempts to exploit the Olympic games for propaganda purposes.”}
    In 1972 it would certainly have been nice had the PLO not exploited the Olympic Games for their propaganda purposes, such as the murder of Israeli athletes. Like the cowards who attack school buses, they finally did this on a scale and location to garner world attention. How soon so many forget.
    This act did bring about Germany forming their infamous GSG9 who in just a few years successfully carried out Operation Feuerzauber” (Operation Fire Magic). It was carried out in 1977′s attack on PLO terrorists, and German Red Army Faction members. Quite successfully at that. Israel also put together a small team and sent them to Europe to hunt down and kill those PLO members who participated In Munich. “Vengence The True Story Of An Israeli Counter-Terrorist Team” makes for an excellent read in my opinion. The book was released in ‘84 and I got the chance to read it while TDY from Germany to SHAPE, Belgium in ‘86.
    Not all that fond of using Wikipedia for a reference, but this makes for a simple thumbnail sketch of the book.

    So the Palestine Olympic Delegation head accuses Israel of attempting “ to exploit the Olympic Games for propaganda purposes” in asking for a minute of silence for the 11 Israeli athletes killed by a Palestinian terrorist group in 1972 ? So the Palestinians now distance themselves from the group and victimize themselves instead of the real victims ? This is pure Alinsky: accuse your opponents of doing what you are doing . Play the Blame Game. Double Speak. Well, this is a classic example of how the international Left – from the Marxists, to the American Obama Democrats , to the Muslim Brotherhood – all all using the same rhetoric and tactics. They are all on the same bus , Destination Objective : Destroy Capitalism in USA and Israel, right now. They will, no doubt like all hate filled “revolutionaries ,” turn upon themselves when they accomplish that first goal The political Marxists versus the religious Islamic fundamentalists. They are united only by hate right now . Hate always destroys . This will be a very messy bus trip. ( Let’s cancel this trip in November ! ) NOBAMA 2012.

    What does the deliberate abduction, hostage holding and eventual death of the Israeli team mean other than the ultimate form of racism? Terrorism itself is a form of extreme and absolute racism in that it seeks to coerce change in a nation or sect of a nation through the ultimate threat of barbarity in all its horrendous details.

    And the Palestinian extremist are the ones Obama insists on having as allies? He shows the truth of his own racism with each statement he makes.

What did the second nation is is the same day invasion of Israel by surrounding Arab states, and the absortion of the then-to-be nation of Palestine into Trans-Jordan.

      @Tmink, My view on racism is collectivist treatment or hatred towards a group of people that differ from oneself. I think as humans we’re all battle our natural prejudices and some people do a better job than others. I believe there are different levels of racism from the benign out of ignorance to the extreme where people justify harming different other human beings based solely on race. I think there are racists in every ethnic group. I also think collectively grouping people and loving them is every bit as dangerous as hating them. I do my best to fight my own prejudices and judge the individual on their own merit. I am not perfect, and have to work overtime to keep my prejudices towards Muslims in check, which isn’t easy with all the media sensationalism. How much of that information did you yourself compile? I‘m willing to bet you just read David Duke’s hate-filled volumes and assumed everything he wrote is an unbiased and true account of what happened and any facts that contradict that were either planted or made up. For example, you probably don’t care that we can track all of the 9/11 terrorists to the point where precisely where they trained to fly. We also have one of their luggage bags that missed the flight.

Yes, I have studied and still study the attack on the USS Liberty. Not enough room here to yet again rehash that on The Blaze. I tend to lean in the direction of the fog of war having much to do with the incident. Horrible, yes, but why would Israel attack one of their material supply benefactors when they could only rely in those days mainly on the US, Britain, and sometimes France? Yes, I do believe the Muslims committed 9-11, just as I believe they committed the attacks on the Embassy in Iran in ‘78 and again more successfully in ’79. I believe they attacked the US Embassy in Beirut, the USS Cole, and so many other acts of murderous violence. I certainly have my thoughts and feelings on these subjects, but in now way am I blind to what is happening in the world. But, I do believe we could well do without your unadulterated hate here.
