Palestinians Honor Disgraced Journalist Helen Thomas for Standing Against Israel

JERUSALEM (The Blaze/AP) — The top Palestinian envoy to the U.S. has honored longtime American journalist and former White House correspondent Helen Thomas in an award ceremony.

A Palestinian official says Maen Erekat, the PLO representative in Washington, hosted Thomas at a dinner at his residence.

The storied columnist, who is 91, was forced stepped down two years ago from her job with the Hearst Newspaper chain after video footage emerged showing her outside the White House saying Israelis should “get the hell out of Palestine.”

The Palestinian official says the event was to honor Thomas for her “stand against the occupation.” He spoke on condition of anonymity because of what he described as the issue’s sensitivity.

Israel isn’t too happy about the event. Israel’s ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren told Israeli news outlet Haaretz on Tuesday that it shows the Palestinians don’t want to meet the “basic requisites of peace.”

Oren added he was “appalled by the award ceremony given by the PLO delegation in Washington to Helen Thomas, who has been completely shunned by all decent Americans after making anti-Semitic remarks, along with teaching Palestinian children to hate the Jewish State and to glorify suicide bombers.”

According to a PLO statement obtained by Haaretz, the PLO “presented Thomas with the appreciation and blessing of the president and the Palestinian people, for all of her actions supporting Palestine in the West.”

Anyone who disagrees with Jews or the Israeli government becomes “disgraced”. Only Zionist Jews and their shills were offended by Helen Thomas’s remarks. A brave lady to be admired.

A brave lady to be admired – Zionist Jews and their shills– My goodness what words escape the mouth of this brilliant scholar. So tell me brilliant scholar and hater of the Zionist Jews, just where did these Palestine child killing bombers come from? Did you realize, oh brilliant one, that over 500,000 Palestinians alone live in Chile? Now how do you suppose these poor skirted bombers got way over there. I guess it must have been slave trade. Right? Would you and the witch also be in favor of sending these 500,00 slaves back to their own land? Now be fair. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. The whole world could say the same in every country that exists. You see what an idiot you and the witch are? Enlighten us and tell us exactly where these girly skirted Arabs originally came from?

Ring-a-ding: You must be reading other than the Authorized KJV of the Holy Bible. I have never read the word rape there that I remember, that would change the of the verse. It would be good to hear the Word as it really is. Some of these newer versions are using words, however slightly different that changes the meaning. It would be more likely to mean if the man violates or has intimate relations with a virgin ((back then men were held more responsible than they are today (should be more than they are today)) he is obligated to marry her or whatever. That was their laws then before Christ came and soverign nations, etc., were set up with their laws, then eventually until modern day (state, local and town ordinances.) The priests who were at that time responsible for the excecuting of the laws and ordinances based on the Bible did performed in the way of their culture and kept the laws and ordinances in sync with how people lived then which was as fair as they could saw this. They had the authority to do this at that time. After the priests there became the kings who expanded on law, etc. The people wanted a king and not priests over them. So there it went. The ultimate priest is Jesus Christ who came after the lineage of Priests and he is the real King. All who between His time ruled and enforced laws. Jesus will somday rule as it should be.

Its funny how much the TP has been led to believe Israel is a friend of the US. They are not. They and their very well funded lobbyists milk billions out of our taxes and dictate our foreign policy.

No, Israel is only people in the Mid East who are a democracy. They are friends. God also said those against Israel would be destroyed. Our laws and Constitution are based on Gods laws that are all good. It is the strength of this nation. That is why they are trying to take Christ out of everything because this is the fabric that binds. Without Christ, our laws are without Spirit and Truth, our strength as a nation will waiver. The enemies of the United States know from Whom we receive our strength. They have this figured it out and over the years have been on a campaign to take any honor given to Christ by the United States away from our vision, our ears and thoughts.

I have also wondered about this. It must be some Jews were like that when Christ was cruicified that were under the illusion of evil. The Jews who accept Christ will be saved. There are Jewish people who, like in all groups who only serve themselves. The Jews are God’s Chosen people, but there are some that this is not good enough for them. The Jewish laws of the Old Testament were used to school people into keeping the convenents until Christ came. Some do not believe he has come yet, but God will have to deal with that. There are others who have converted to Christianity. Then are are the jews who literally do their own thing. Goodness is based on the individual, and no one is good for there is evil in all hearts, but those who have the Spirit of God in their hearts have a conscious and are seeking Truth. Some people have a seared conscious and no sin is too great for them. There again it does not depend on a group, but the individual.

The only presidential candidate to talk about human rights in Palestine is of course, Ron Paul, who said that it helped foster the 9/11 attacks, during September’s Republican debate.

“…They wrote and said that we attacked America because you had bases on our holy land in Saudi Arabia, you do not give Palestinians fair treatment, and you have been bombing…”

At this point, Paul was interrupted by a chorus of boos.

Ron Paul is an enigma (maybe crazy, Dementia, Alzheimers… who knows?). I rate them both right at the bottom, with LBJ, Clinton, Bush I, and Wilson…the Nixon administration was pretty bad also. I will most likely vote for Ron Paul this election (depends on if write-ins are allowed). The Republican nominee will take my State, regardless. If I lived in a State where the election could be close, I’d probably vote for Romney.

Hi Ashes….I was hesitant in mentioning Nixon as one of the worse presidents…I guess that’s why I said the Nixon administration instead of just Nixon. Yes, I did like Nixon…I was pretty young at the time. I remember the times when he came on t.v. to address the nation. I was glad he was our President. I’ve seen many interviews of Nixon…years after his resignation, and enjoyed the interviews. I watched the funeral. I believe he was honorable and I know that he loved his country very much. I’ve always liked his daughter Julie and the Eisenhowers. More than anything, I was thinking of Kissinger and others that were and still are trouble, without getting into all that. Good talking to you, Ashes.

Well evil comes in many different shades and styles, and is generally adjusted to the eyes of a certain people, spirit, and nation. The things evil in one nation may not be viewed as evil in another. But there is one universal evil, and that is people going to another people, and saying “Why are you living like that, when you should be living like this? Here we will manipulate you into helping yourself.”

      @bellboy
The purpose of that law was to make the man take responsibility for his actions. If he raped her and she gets pregnant he now is obligated to provide for her and her child. It’s not about him getting his way with her. He now has to provide for her and treat her properly. Also, a girl who had lost her virginity was harder to marry off at the time so the rapist had essentially ensured that the girl might not find a husband any other way. Thus his marrying her was the only way to repair the damage he had caused.
You are intentionally looking at history outside of its historical context, an approach that misrepresents the facts by looking at them in a way that is different then the people who actually lived through it. You ignored the fact that in biblical times and for a long while afterwards the husband was the primary breadwinner so having another mouth to feed was a much bigger deal. You also ignored the fact that back then people lived in small communities where most people knew everybody else so it‘s not as though the rape wouldn’t be known to everyone.
