Palestinians Want an Even Bigger State Than the 1967 Borders

When the Palestinians presented their bid for statehood at the UN Friday, most news outlets suggested Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was aiming for a state based on 1967 borders covering only the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem.
A closer look at the actual letter he presented to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon applying for UN membership reveals the Palestinians are aiming for far more territory.
As reprinted in the Telegraph, Abbas’s letter reads:
“This application for membership is being submitted on the Palestinian people’s natural, legal and historic rights and based on United Nations General Assembly resolution 181 (II) of 29 November 1947 as well as the Declaration of Independence of the State of Palestine of 15 November 1988 and the acknowledgement by the General Assembly of this declaration in resolution 43/177 of 15 December 1988.”
Lots of dates are cited here. Let’s take a closer look. Abbas says his people’s “rights” are based on the 1947 UN Resolution. That year refers to the UN Partition Plan, the same plan all Arab states rejected and the Jews accepted for their homeland, after which those Arab neighbors declared war on Israel.
These maps from GBTV reveal the land allotted to the Jewish State under the 1947 Partition Plan was in fact much smaller than that afforded under 1967 borders.
Though President Obama has endorsed Palestinian demands — stated until now — that their future state be based on 1967 borders, Israel says borders should be based on the outcome of negotiations. If Abbas’s proposal is accepted by the UN Security Council, gone from Israel is Jerusalem its capital and home to the sites most sacred to Jews and Christians. Also gone: Ben Gurion Airport just outside Tel Aviv, the country’s only major international airport.
The blog Israel Matzav explains the significance:
“It would mean no Jerusalem and no airport. Even more indefensible borders than the 1949 armistice lines. The ‘Palestinians’ ignore Security Council Resolution 242, which requires that Israel be left with ‘defensible borders’ and says nothing about a ‘Palestinian state.’”
There are other alarming suggestions the Palestinians are not being upfront in stating their intentions regarding the size of the state they aim for.One of the sticking points in restarting negotiations with Israel is the Palestinians’ continued opposition to recognizing Israel as a Jewish State. In fact, last week a round of talks aimed at restarting peace negotiations broke up over “Abbas’ refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish State.”
Secondly, the Palestine Liberation Organization’s current logo on its UN Observer Mission website suggests it wants the entire state of Israel incorporated into its future state – not just the West Bank and Gaza. The map on the logo appears to suggest the goal is to wipe Israel completely off the map. The Weekly Standard posted this:
Here is the logo:
Compare the green on this logo to the above maps and you’ll see Israel has vanished.
But Mahmoud Abbas is the “Palestinian Authority” President, not the PLO’s. Not quite. Note how Abbas signed his letter to Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon: “Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.”
Looking at the moving borders raises the question: are Mideast agreements ever final, and how does Israel ensure its own security if they are not? One indication they are not came over the weekend, when Mahmoud Abbas said he wants to bust open part of the Oslo Agreements with the Israelis called the Paris Agreement and renegotiate. On his plane as he was traveling from New York back to Ramallah, Abbas told journalists:
“We want to reopen the Paris Agreement and make changes to it…The agreement is not fair and there are restrictions on Palestinians that prevent our economy from growing and prospering. The Paris Agreement does not give us the opportunity to develop our economy and our country.”
Right now the ball is in the court of UN Security Council (UNSC) members. It will be interesting to see how each votes. Since losing its capital city and main airport as well as other strategic assets would be a non-starter for Israel, the votes on these 1947 borders will reveal if UNSC members are sincere in their desire for peace in the Middle East, if they recognize Israel’s right to security (and honoring UNSC Resolution 242), or if they are paying lip service to the Palestinians.

My maternal grandfather, Eli Kloninger, was from an influential German Jewish family. He and his brothers imigrated to the USA in the early 1900′s and therefore escaped the Nazi Holocaust.
Unfortunately most of the other family members perished in the Nazi extermination camps from 1933 to 1945. The few survivors immigrated to the USA and Israel from 1946 to the early1950′s. If the Palestinians receive statehood recognition from the UN the Israelis will be facing a second and more horrible holocaust. THIS CAN NOT and WILL NOT HAPPEN ! God bless Israel and the Jews.

I thought for sure by now you would have posted the answer. Well let me help you out.
AFTER Jesus was crucified and ceased the offering and oblation, a people under the Prince’s authority from a Northern empire came and destroyed the Temple, every stone over turned, and dispersed the Jews throughout their Kingdom, banned them from their land and since, the land has been over ran with Gentiles, kinda like a flood. What empire was that? Pagan Rome in 70 AD…..
That’s weird, where have I read that before……Oh, that’s right, Daniel 9:26-27…………………………….
True history……Have a great day Luke!

Posted on September 27, 2011 at 2:01pmOkie… i‘m not sure what you’re getting at in your response to Luke.
Yes, the Romans came in and took over. And after tolerating the instability (from their perspective) of Israel long enough, it decided to do something about them. So it burned Jerusalam, destroyed its temple, and killed or chased out quite a lot of Jews. The Jews were dispersed from Israel into the rest of the world. Christ foretold this prior to His crucifixion. And the reason for this dispersal was that the children of Israel believed not the Deliverer that God provided. But this dispersal, like the captivities to Assyria and Babylon, did not void the covenant to Abraham/Isaac/Jacob that this land was meant for them to dwell in. Unlike the Old Covenant which passed on after the New Covenant was established, this other covenent still stands.
The prophets and Jesus Himself basically look forward to the future when Isreael would be revived and re-established…. and thus it has been. It has been transformed in the past 60 or so yrs from a beduoin dwelt desert (that it turned into shortly after the dispersal) to a thriving country whose agriculture feeds a good portion of Europe and the rest of the world. God has truly brought back his people and there is more to come in both populations growth and advancement.
In essence, the Holy Land is really divinely owned territory. He gives it to whom He wills and he chooses to give it to the Jews. It would be foolish to try to take it away.

Howdy! Since you asked, Luke and I disagree on God’s Word and without knowing it, I believe you help validate my side of the argument. Please allow me to explain. Luke believes in a 7 year tribulation and/or the 70 weeks haven’t even started yet. My faith believes the 70 weeks are complete due to Jesus being the last sacrifice and oblation. Guess it depends on who Jesus is in your faith. My faith believes Jesus ended sin by repentance. Luke doesn’t. To each his I suppose.
Daniel 9 has 70 weeks.
Call to rebuild temple begins it.
Jesus, the Messiah, is cut off in the middle of the 70th week. (notice AFTER 62 weeks of 9:26 in Daniel)
Stephens death, 3 1/2 years after death of Jesus, sealed or diminished the 70 weeks.
After the 70 weeks completion people of Rome came and over ran Israel and since has been flooded with Gentiles as described in Daniel 9:27 and as told in Matthew by Jesus Himself as you said.
Of course, could just be coincidence. Just something to consider. Hope your day is great!

Really? That’s odd, shall I go back to the post where you declared Jesus didn’t do away with sin? And to tie my belief of the 70 weeks complete with not appreciating Israeli’s or Jews is very insulting.
I do understand history, God‘s promise to the Israeli’s/Jews/Gentiles and what the Bible says about it. If you want to stop the atrocities of history, quit denying it. Live in truth or live a lie. You will be held responsible for your choice and all those you effect with your words. Keep that in mind.
Jesus Christ died for sin, and ended sin for those who who believe and repent. To believe otherwise is to believe Jesus wasn’t the Messiah and is belief in a false Jesus. Find truth Luke, your soul depends upon it. Take care.

The problem isn‘t the Israeli’s, it’s the Palestinians. If they could curb their animal instincts for a while, they could live in peace and prosperity within the Jewish state of Israel. Got the facts correct.
These Palestinians never existed, they are the people the Jordan, Syria, Eygpt and Saudi Arabi did not want to allow to come back. They are the (for a lack of better word) Rejects of the arab world.
If they weren’t they would have been permitted to enter into Eygpt, Syria, Jordan etc… and live there. These people then were used as pawns by the arab nations, they have no claim to the land and are actually Blessed to have Israel there to take care of them.
Arabs that live in Israel, live better then arabs in any other nation in the middle east.
Israel should not give into any more demands on trading land for peace, there will never be peace for land, the arabs want all of Israel.

The Arabs refused to accept Israel and though they could kill off Israel in 1948. Guess what? They lost and now idiots like rose want a reset!? Not happening! They throw rocks at one another, tearing up the joint, while feuding inside of it! And we are to believe this whole conflict revolves around “their beloved land”?

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Get a clue—there will never be peace over there until they have killed Israel. As long as one Jew breathes they will never be happy. Then, once Israel is gone, they will unite the whole Middle East under Islamic law and attack the US (after killing everyone over there who doesnt agree with their Caliphate). Ask yourself, how many generations after your parents came to this country should you be considered a refugee? Why does the UN have a special definition only for Palestinian Refugees that apply to no other people?

Posted on September 27, 2011 at 1:21amThis is a 2 STAGE SOLUTION NOT a 2 State solution! Abbas is a terrorist in a business suit. Remember he formed FATAH, which has more blood on its hands from suicide bombings then Hamas! IN 2002, I visited a few weeks after the site of their evil handiwork at the Park Hotel in Netanya where they blew up a Passover Seder killing 28 and wounding 140! These are pure evil cowards who glorify death!. Abbas is also credited with financing the cold blooded murder of the Israeli Olympic team in 1974 in Munich. Abbas speaks of 63 yrs of “occupation” which means he is going back to pre 1948 prior to the formal recognition of the modern state.

No way Islam is the beast of the Sea. Doesn’t match prophecy at all. Also, the sea beast takes a head wound, has it healed and has a Land beast assisting in making an image of it. Then the Mark is enforced.
Islam has rose 3 times, this being the 3rd. Woe!
There is only one Church who rode the Nations and took a head wound that was later healed.
There is only one Nation who rose out of the land, performed miracles in the sight of the healed first beast and has created an image (structure just like first, not a rock or idol) that speaks.
Reread those revelation verses now and look at history. All should all make sense then…..oh and look up what Church was also called Babylon…….Have a great night…..

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 1:03amYou are so wrong Okie. If Islam is not the whore of Babylon I’ll eat my hat. Please name one Biblical prophecy that it does not match precisely with. Muslims await the day when a “beast” will write his name in their foreheads. The Islamic symbol which they currently wear upon their right arms and foreheads (which bears the name of Allah) is A MIRROR IMAGE of ‘Chi Xi Stigma’ as recorded in the Codex Vaticanus (a.k.a. 666 or the name & number of the beast). Muslims deny that Christ is the Son of God and they deny that he died on the cross and was resurrected. There are Biblical verses describing Lucifer which match verbatim Quranic verses describing Allah. Muslims here in the States refer to themselves as Palestinians (Philistines), Assyrians, or Chaldeans ~ all ancient Biblical archetypes of anti-Christ’s kingdom. Islam originated in Saudi Arabia (which in antiquity was the bulk of the greater kingdom of Ancient Babylon). Each and every symbol and ritual of Islam can be traced back to the various and many heathen religions that originated from the Babylonian pantheon of deities. The black stone is housed in a container that is shaped like a woman’s labia, Muslims kiss it and bow to it, as did the heathenistic Arabs who did so to a pagan fertility goddess (or whore) before them. The deadly wound happened already ~ you missed it when the last Caliphate (head of the beast) fell and everyone though Islam’s reign of terror was over. Oh yes, and that 13th century date: 9/11!

Posted on September 27, 2011 at 12:59amObserve good faith and justice towards all Nations; cultivate peace and harmony with all. Religion and Morality enjoin this conduct; and can it be, that good policy does not equally enjoin it? It will be worthy of a free, enlightened, and, at no distant period, a great Nation, to give to mankind the magnanimous and too novel example of a people always guided by an exalted justice and benevolence. Who can doubt, that, in the course of time and things, the fruits of such a plan would richly repay any temporary advantages, which might be lost by a steady adherence to it ? Can it be, that Providence has not connected the permanent felicity of a Nation with its Virtue? The experiment, at least, is recommended by every sentiment which ennobles human nature. Alas! is it rendered impossible by its vices ?
Report Post »Okie from Muskogee
Posted on September 27, 2011 at 1:06amIn the execution of such a plan, nothing is more essential, than that permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular Nations, and passionate attachments for others, should be excluded; and that, in place of them, just and amicable feelings towards all should be cultivated. The Nation, which indulges towards another an habitual hatred, or an habitual fondness, is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest. Antipathy in one nation against another disposes each more readily to offer insult and injury, to lay hold of slight causes of umbrage, and to be haughty and intractable, when accidental or trifling occasions of dispute occur. Hence frequent collisions, obstinate, envenomed, and bloody contests. The Nation, prompted by ill-will and resentment, sometimes impels to war the Government, contrary to the best calculations of policy. The Government sometimes participates in the national propensity, and adopts through passion what reason would reject; at other times, it makes the animosity of the nation subservient to projects of hostility instigated by pride, ambition, and other sinister and pernicious motives. The peace often, sometimes perhaps the liberty, of Nations has been the victim.

George Washington was amazing and I wish more took time to discover him, his views for America, and how far away we are from them now. In this address the problems he warned could happen, have happened and for the very reasons he stated they would occur.
I hope you all take time to read the whole address. It’s awesome. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

And therein lies the problem Okie. You don’t realize that Jews are Judah and the founders of the West were the rest of Israel. Ask yourself why the father of our nation laid his hand upon the birth right blessings of Joseph‘s son’s while taking his first oath of office as President of the New World. Ask yourself why Israeli streets are named after American Presidents and the names of Israelite people and places make re~occurring appearances in the cities, towns, and streets of every State of this Union. Ask yourself why the Star of David and the birthplace of Joseph‘s son are central figures on the United States’ national seal (a symbol that is solely intended to speak to the world about who we are, where we came from, and what we stand for).
Israel is the cornerstone of the free world. As Israel goes, so goes the rest of the free world. Last time I checked, it is reprehensible to turn your back on an ally and side with those who are seeking to kill you. Aside from this, Israel is more than a friend, they are family. If you think Islam would be content to turn all of Israel as green as gangrenous Palestine you are delusional ~ in case you haven’t heard, while Islam openly calls Israel “the little Satan” in their eyes we are
