Palin Jabs Romney Just Before He Announces CandidacyTalk about stealing the show — or at least attempting to. Less than an hour before former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney took the stage to announce his 2012 presidential run, Sarah Palin unleashed some criticism over his stance on health care. The Hill has more:

“In my opinion, any mandate coming from government is not a good thing, so obviously … there will be more the explanation coming from former Governor Romney on his support for government mandates,” Palin said, according to NBC News.

Palin made her remarks in Romney’s home state of Massachusetts, where she stopped on a leg of her bus tour throughout the Northeast. She is expected to make the short trip up to New Hampshire Thursday evening, her first since 2008, when she was the GOP’s vice presidential nominee.

When asked if she believes Romney’s health care stance will hurt him among Tea Party supporters, Real Clear Politics reports that Palin wasn’t afraid to speak her mind:

“That perhaps will be a big challenge for him because tea party activists are pretty strident, in a good way, in making sure that the candidate that many of the tea party patriots will support — the candidate has a record of living out the principles that tea party patriots do embrace,” she said.

Some believe that Palin‘s statements so close to Romney’s announcement are a clear indication that she was attempting to steal some of his spotlight. Either way, if Palin does, indeed, decide to throw her hat in the ring, current polls show that she could give Romney a run for his money. Public Policy Polling has the two Republicans currently deadlocked at 16 percent.

    I can’t stand all of this talk about how Mitt Romney is a flip flopper. Mitt has been commited to the Mormon church his entire life! Even when the LDS started allowing Blacks to recieve the priesthood he stuck with it.

    Lets not forget! This man was arrested,why? Because a nice officer let him know his boat tag expired and if he he put it in the water he would get a ticket. So old Mitt thumbed his nose at that LAW and the officer and said write it so he was arrested. See why not just say screw you to the LAW and the fine, the fine would be paid with tax dollars. So forget you buddy make it a trillion dollar ticket, it ain’t coming outta his pocket and besides how dare you exspect him to obey laws like a citizen! Yeah he is just like you and me except he signed on to special health care for him and his family for life and your paying for that to. Yeah he’ll uphold the constitution, just like he respects laws and police officers…

      Michelle Bachman is NOT a conservative. She associates herself with the TEA Party but she supports unconstitutional laws like the Patriot Act. She is not alone as Marco Rubio and some other so called TEA Party conservatives do the same thing.

      You have to pay close attention to what these people do, not what they say.

      Things are not looking up for 2012. Way too many RINO’s are running.

      How is Romney a Washington insider? That doesn’t make sense. He doesn’t live in Washington, nor has he. He served for governor of his state for one term, and the rest of his life has been spent assisting and running businesses in the private sector. I‘m not sure you really know what you’re talking about. I’d vote for Romney.

      Pres. Reagan believed in a Big tent for the GOP not some party that has some ridiculous litmus test. The only way to win elections is to appeal to a broader range of persons and teach them conservative values. That is not accomplished by staying at home on election day because the party’s candidate agrees with you on only 9 out of 10 issues.

      Do you honestly believe that we are better of with Pres. Obama than we would be with Romney? Do you honestly believe that we are better having Pres. Obama than we would have been with McCain?

    Unfortunately we may have to vote for him to get rid of Obama. He is a big Government man and not what this country needs. I hope he does not win the nomination. All he will do is slow things down but to me he is like Scott Walker. Underneath an old style Democrat.

      Well, you have a point but, if Palin decides to run against him, she will have to bring up Romneycare. And all the other GOP candidates will too. He is the frontrunner and has that huge albratross around his neck. Palin, like others will have to separate herself to Romney’s record as governor.

      If he expects to win the nomination, then he WILL have to answer for that. Because Obama and his ilk WILL bring that up in many, many commercials til election day. Many will want to woo the TEA PARTY patriots and will criticize his plan of Romneycare and what a failure it is.

      Remember, in 2008, McCain would not go after Obama’s friendship with Rev. Wright, Father Phlager, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, etc. and look what being nice got him? Sarah Palin wanted to go for the jugular and was dismissed.

      Sarah won’t win, she will split the vote and will keep BO in office. She would probably not get the independent vote and the majority of establishment republicans won’t vote for her. We need her voice, but we also need to win. Four more of BO (with nothing to lose) and our country will be destroyed. We need a candidate who is strong, but not so widely despised as Sarah. I like her, but to keep BO from getting re-elected I would be forced to vote for RINO Romney.

      Who’s the conservative? After what Palin did last time around endorsing McCain in AZ and Rick Perry in TX over the Tea Party Candidate she has no room to talk.       LOL! Go Sarah !!!! I’m with BITEMEPETA and CHEEZ & their ‘ilk”! Love Sarah – bought the t-shirts & decals way last year waiting for now. She’d be the most ANTI OBAMA candidate out there that has the passion/charisma/experience/guts/patriotism – you name it.
      P.S. If you missed it before, check out my post on p.2 about this is the season of the woman……think both Bachmann and Palin will be the chief ones, one way or another, sooner or later. Hopefully sooner…by 2016 for sure.

      Sarah is right where she should be vs Obama in the poles. Sarah will gain in popularity as more and more people hear speak. Truth touches the human heart and people will see her as a genuine, honest intelligent, capable, candidate. She will beat Obama with straight talk and effective criticisms. Romney will beat around the bush.

      Congress is hiding behind the birth certificate controversy rather than act and jeopardize reelection. Their deceptive dereliction of duty was deftly codified by rhetorically requesting guidance from the CRS on just the birth certificate issue. The expected reply was the infamous Maskell memorandum.[2]

      Demand congress immediately remove Obama in accordance with their oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
