Palin Raises $1.2 Million for PAC, Angle Raises $14 Million in 3 Months

(The Blaze/AP) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin raised more than $1.2 million for her political action committee during the last quarter, doling out money to tea party candidates but spending much of the money on consultants and travel. Fellow female GOP member Sharron Angle raised $14 million during the same period.
The financial disclosure, filed Tuesday by her SarahPAC, shows the 2008 vice presidential candidate and potential 2012 presidential contender spent about $1 million during that time, much of it for consulting in areas including coalitions, media, international affairs and finance.
She also gave money to about 15 candidates, including $10,000 to U.S. Senate hopefuls Christine O’Donnell of Delaware and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.
She contributed $10,000 to Joe Miller, a political upstart in her home state who upset U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the GOP primary and is seeking to turn back Murkowski’s write-in candidacy in the Nov. 2 election. He received his first $5,000 during the primary, and it showed up on Palin’s previous filing.
The Federal Election Commission allows for PACs to give up to $5,000 per candidate committee per election. Palin has said repeatedly that her immediate focus is on the midterm elections and on getting elected candidates she considers “commonsense conservatives.”
Other candidates getting money included U.S. Senate hopefuls Marco Rubio of Florida and John Hoeven of North Dakota, each with $5,000; Sharron Angle of Nevada and Rand Paul in Kentucky.
Palin also gave $10,000 to the Iowa Republican Party, donations that coincided with her unity speech at the party’s largest annual fundraiser last month.
Her filing shows she ended the period Sept. 30 with nearly $1.3 million on hand.
UPDATE:
Palin’s fundraising efforts, however, may be overshadowed by Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle, who has raised $14 million in three months in her bid to oust Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The cascade of cash Angle took in between July and September is a worrying sign for the Democratic leader, who is locked in a dead heat with the Republican challenger.
Angle‘s campaign Tuesday did not immediately release figures showing how much money she had left in the bank for the campaign’s stretch run.
Reid has said he intends to raise $25 million for the race.
His campaign has not yet released its fundraising numbers for the third quarter.
Angle was once a little-known former legislator whose come from behind victory in the June primary made her a national tea party star.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Posted on October 12, 2010 at 3:44pmI have to share a funny story with my friends at The Blaze. As I mentioned earlier, Sarah was in San Antonio last Friday night at our Women of Joy Conference. She related to us a precious story. Before she went on stage to debate Biden, she looked around for someone in the campaign to pray with her, and found only Piper. As they were praying, Sarah prayed, “May the Holy Spirit speak through me”. Piper interrupted her with, “Mama, that’s cheating!”

Posted on October 12, 2010 at 2:26pmSarah Palin is only “polarizing” because the media portray (!) her as “polarizing” and portray (!) her as “far right” to frighten off voters.
Report Post »……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
But in reality ,Sarah Palin is mainstream ;every position she has is supported by the MAJORITY of America.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………
Sarah Palin is standing with the MAJORITY of Americans who feel the same way she does on healtcare , abortion, smaller government , lower taxes , energy independence and securing the border.
……………………………………………………………………………………………..
Sarah Palin has a long record of achievement and experience in public office.Prior her election as Governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council and two terms as the mayor of Wasilla. During her tenure, she reduced property tax levels while increasing services and made Wasilla a business-friendly environment, drawing in new industry.
…………………………………………………………………………………………..
If you want to talk about her tenure in AK, you may want to consider her balanced budgets. She left the state with an $8 billion rainy day fund and a $1 billion education fund and a budget smaller than her predecessor’s. She broke up the Corrupt B*stards Club of Republican politicians and oil company execs than ran Alaska and reset the system used for reimbursing Alaska for the use of its resources. Then there’s the gas pipeline that was talked about for decades and she got passed. How did she do it? She worked with democrats against some Republican opposition, which dispels the myth that she’s some kind of right wing nut case.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Sarah Palin’s successful efforts to stop the cronyism and reform the energy business in Alaska were so impressive Kay Cashman, the publisher and executive editor of Petroleum News, wrote the book entitled: “Sarah Takes On Big Oil” . This is a must read for anyone who wants to understand the leadership Sarah Palin has exhibited in the area of reforming government and industry.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Palin is past chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multistate government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment. She also served as chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) Natural Resources Committee, which was charged with pursuing legislation to ensure state needs are considered as federal policy is formulated in the areas of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and natural resource management.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………….
While Governor Palin has a history of being a reformer and taking on powerful interests for the benefit of ordinary people, Obama’s history is that of a tool of special interests, be they unions, trial lawyers, ACORN, or Wall Street

Posted on October 12, 2010 at 9:33pmto Contrarianthinker: You state “any law NOT authorized by the Constitution is ILLEGAL. ”
I’m not even sure what that is supposed to mean, since Congress is where laws are passed, and congress is specifically vested with that authority.
“Article I
Section 1.
All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.”
So, just exactly what “laws” are you talking about? If you are not talking about laws passed by the legislative branch, enacted by the executive branch, and occasionally brought up for review by the judicial branch, then are you talking about various regulations that are promulgated under various agencies operating under the executive branch? Last time I looked, the Supreme Court said they had that right. Now, when those regulations, as well as laws passed by the legislative branch appear to be in conflict with the constitution, that is when things go to court, and the judicial branch decides on their constitutionality. Forgive me, but i just totally don’t know understand what point you are trying to make here. Please elaborate.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 12:46amSarah Palin is in lock-step with the American people on the majority of the issues: immigration, health care reform, off shore drilling, extending the Bush tax cuts, the mosque at Ground Zero, etc. Regarding gravitas, Governor Palin has written, spoken, and commented on issues ranging from the devaluing of the US dollar to the bureaucratization of health care to the Obama administration’s stance on Israel to the overreach of the EPA. She is comfortable discussing social, economic, environmental, regulatory, foreign, and national security issues.
With regards to leadership, Governor Palin has led a town, a state, and has co-led a family. She has private sector experience in working in journalism and her family’s fishing business. She has public sector experience with her time as city councilwoman, mayor, and governor. She has experience with negotiations between the public and the private sector with her work on AGIA. She worked across party lines with ethics reform legislation. Since stepping aside from the Governor’s office, she has been the leading voice of conservatism. When other supposed leaders are busy sticking their finger in the wind or sitting on the fence when it comes to current policy, Governor Palin has stood strongly for conservative values and commonsense.
With regards to political achievements, in three legislative sessions as Governor, in addition to what has already been mentioned, she forward funded education, passed major ethics reform, revamped the oil taxation code to make it more inline with the Alaska constitution, and increased funding for children with special needs. She rejected stimulus funds that were unsustainable and had strings attached. She stood firmly for the 10th amendment on numerous occasions and was a constant proponent of energy independence. She took on the Establishment of both parties and won.
On the issue of character, Governor Palin has that in spades. No one carries herself with the perfect balance of self-confident humility like Governor Palin. When a candidate wins a primary due in large part to her endorsement, Governor Palin always shrugs off any credit and places the credit on the candidate. As oil and gas commissioner, Governor Palin called out the unethical practices of members of her own party. As Governor, she sought to end the back room deals and improper relationships between oil companies and politicians. In spite of all the frivolous ethics complaints, false accusations, misrepresentations, and smear campaigns that have been thrown at her, she carries herself with class, dignity and grace every step of the way. She wears her patriotism on her sleeve and is always cognizant of both God’s grace at work in her life and the sacrifices of American soldiers for our freedoms. She embraces American exceptionalism, and never passes up an opportunity to express her optimism in the American people and a healthy skepticism in government.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 2:26pmRonald, thank you for your thoughtful post. Ron Paul and others have introduced bills to force anyone to show where in the Constitution should act is authorized. This was overwhelming rejected by both the GOP and DP. From my educated guess, I would say that for instance the last Constitutional war was WWII when the Congress actually signed a declaration of war. The rest Congress has simply given flexsible war powers to the POTUS. A second exmaple is Congress disobeying the Constitution when it comes to what is money and who manages it. The FED is an unconstitutional organization.
IMO, the last POTUS who respected the Constitution was DEMOCRAT GROVER CLEVELAND IN THE LATE 1880′S Both BUSH SR and JR trashed the Constitution but NOT as bad as FDR.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 2:29pmRonald, I agree about usinjg her “fame” to generate money in such large quantities. Certainly, t he Church should pay her expenses and a small stipend. She no longer receives the pay as Governor nor as far as I know holds a job.
Can we say exploitation? But Clinton does the same so????
