Palin Reportedly Halts ‘One Nation’ Bus Tour

Palin Reportedly Halts ‘One Nation’ Bus TourFans hoping for a late jump by Sarah Palin into the 2012 GOP field got a troubling blow this morning as it has been reported that her “One Nation” bus tour, which already rolled through New Hampshire and intended on making additional stops in key primary states like Iowa and South Carolina, has run out of gas.

Via Real Clear Politics:

“Though Palin and her staff never announced a timeline for the remaining legs of her trip, aides had drafted preliminary itineraries that would have taken her through the Midwest and Southeast at some point this month. But those travel blueprints are now in limbo, RCP has learned, as Palin and her family have reverted to the friendly confines of summertime Alaska, where the skies are currently alight for over 19 hours a day and the Bristol Bay salmon fishing season is nearing its peak.

As Palin enjoys her sojourn to the 49th state, she has not reconnected with key early-state figures like Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and she may have jeopardized whatever political momentum she gained from her recent reemergence in the 2012 discussion.”

The tour raised attention when went it revved up in the crucial early primary state of New Hampshire, with many media sources and pundits assuming the trip would serve as a mobile base and grassroots vehicle for her 2012 Presidential campaign launch.

Supporters have already begun to express confusion and anger in regards to the decision on comment boards and blogs across the net.

“Sarah, I am losing my patience with you. Either you are running for President or you are not,” wrote one fan on Palin’s Facebook page. “Is the ‘One Nation’ bus tour really over? Say it ain’t so,” quipped another. Supporters have grown alarmed that Sarah PAC as well as Palin’s official Facebook and Twitter pages have not been active lately, only posting a handful of posts in the last few weeks with no Facebook posts since June 10.

As swarms of staffers continue to exit Newt Gingrich’s campaign like Jenga pieces and new names in GOP National Politics like Huntsman and Perry have picked up steam, Palin, a presumptive 2012 republican candidate, has become increasingly difficult to peg. It is possible that Palin’s decision to end the tour could be fueled by the desire to assemble staff in Alaska to focus on an official campaign launch, letting the upcoming documentary praising her record in Alaska, “The Undefeated,” finish off the tour’s grassroots intentions when released July 15.

Still, some media sources have speculated that the morning‘s news could mean the end for Palin’s 2012 hopes. Or, rather, the end of the hopes her supporters had for 2012.

What do you think? Does this mean the end for Palin 2012? If Palin was your candidate who will you support now?

(H/T:Mediaite)

UPDATE

The Washington Post is now reporting that Palin has decided to cancel her upcoming trip to Sudan as well:

“Palin scrapped her plans to visit the North African country for scheduling reasons, several sources close to Palin said. She was planning to travel with Franklin Graham, the son of evangelical leader Billy Graham, as well as Fox News personality Greta Van Susteren to the July 9 independence ceremony of South Sudan, the sources said.

The decision comes at a time when speculation is mounting about whether Palin will run for president. Palin’s weeks-long silence since the end of her “One Nation” bus tour along the East Coast has prompted a raft of questions about whether there will be a second or third leg, as advisers initially said there would be, through the Midwest and South.”

Sarah Palin is going to run – regardless of what the media would like us to believe. Get ready for shock and awe – PALIN 2012 – All the way, baby! Palin supporters know that something big is in the works; Sarah has asked us to trust her, and we do – and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

Well, I don’t care for Palin, but I would like nothing more than for her to make a bid for the nomination.
Of course the best part for me would be watching her run home with her tail tucked between her legs after her defeat. The only group that would vote for her are the TP class, and you are a small group that’s not supported by the majority of the country.

On the contrary, Palin has more support than the bum that’s currently in office, and THAT should have the socialists-liberals of this country very concerned. Once the gig is up, you’ll crawl back into the worm infested chubby holes you came from, with your Fox Piven and Hitler posters on your mud hut walls, mad at the world you‘ll never have the shot you had while BO was flaunting his victory in ’09 around like Mr. Furley in a pair of daisy dukes….

I like Sarah Palin. Doesn’t bother me if she stops driving around the country and go salmon-fishing back home in Alaska. In public office or as a private citizen, she continues to have an impact on the dreams and fears of the media. Why? Because her love for America and her conservative values RESONATE with the country in ways that the soul-less ritalin-doped staple-faced emasculated commies will never understand.

This is sad, however, Palin is very clever. I would be willing to bet there is a darn good reason for this move. Maybe the republican party is reviewing who would make their best candidate and not certain she should be heading in the direction of running for President. She has definitely proven her skills in raising money and getting attentnion. I‘m certain it’s a call that’s been well thought of.

As a woman, I love Palin, howeer; I’m not really 100% certain she is ready to become President, however I think she has 100% more common sense then the person who now serves as president.
She knows the value of money, and obviously Obama has none! Spend, spend, spend, vacation, vacation, vacation, golf, golf, golf, eat, eat, eat. He seems to enjoy these more then WORK AND WHAT THE AMERECIAN PEOPLE WANT.

I don’t think she ever was going to run.

Put aside the Palin-as-idiot narrative being pushed by big media. Sarah P. clearly isn’t the dolt her critics say she is. I think she knows very well how polarizing her candidacy would be in ‘12. I believe she is also very aware that if she enters the ‘12 race, the dems and their allies in big media will talk about nothing else, in very negative terms, right up until election day. I do not believe that Sarah P. is the self-centered type that would enter the race knowing her candidacy might drive moderate voters back to the dems. I think her ultimate goal is a conservative in the white house, not necessarily her. She’s still young and has a bright future in politics. The country has clearly soured on liberalism and the current administration. It’s just a matter of time until she can seek office in a friendlier environment.

The Palin-for-president crowd needs to chill out. SHE’s NOT RUNNING THIS TIME!

Don’t know….I’m a longtime Palin fan and would love to see her as President but I never thought this bus tour was the “beginning” of an announcement to that effect. No – I think she’s doing just as she has said. She is watching and waiting to see who runs and if she could be more helpful than them….if she feels there’s one out there that could accomplish needed change, she probably wouldn’t run & help in other ways – which will be effective also. But right now Gov. Rick Perry (TX) – my state – is probably going to run and he’s very similar to her. Rumor was that he was waiting to see if she was going to run for the same reason. However, you never know what unexpected things may happen & will propel her into the spotlight once again…it’s whatever God wants and has planned.

I tend to agree with the “quitting” part. Where’s any follow through?!? Doesn’t seem very ……dependable with the past history of not finishing something she’s started…..?

She was kinda underground, then emerges out of nowhere with the bus tour in time to “crash” Romney’s NH announcement. He was perfectly fine with it……didn’t take offense to it, but since I have seen NO OTHER candidate/potential do that to anyone else this time, it did awaken some of my senses to her “motives” and character. Within a day or two of that, she went back “underground”.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not a Palin basher, but the way some of the press slobbers over her and some of it beats her up, I don’t blame her for staying underground!

It hardly spells the end of her hopes as a candidate, if she decides to run. Just look at how much attention the media pays to her every move, including this breathless article – “Is she done? Will she run? Is she fishing? Are her supporters abandoning her? Pant, Pant, Pant…!

It’s very obvious to me that, given how everyone goes ga-ga in one way or another every time she winks an eye or shrugs her shoulders, she is in complete control of how things will go down in her political life. At least until the primary vote. She‘s holding the media in the palm of her hand like no one else I’ve seen. And what makes it so funny is that these are the same people who hate her so much!

Spot on CHARYBDIS;) With all the poopooers, and gainsayers salivating and drooling over what she might do, I find it utterly hilarious and expose on their lack of intelligence. Sarah is wicked smart, knows her own mind, and will leave them choking on their own bile.

I believe she is guided by Divine Providence, whom our first President relied on heavily for all he did. Even going as far as doing what he didn’t want too do. Washingtons’ first and foremost thought was for the Nation and the hope that he would always follow where the Lord led him.

I pity the gainsayers and waylayers, they are obviously short sighted and do not understand what is truly at stake. And it is for that reason they will never see the trees through the forest.

Ask yourself this: Why is the media paying such close attention to Palin’s every word and deed?

They know she would give Obama the presidency, that’s why. They’ve successfully branded her (albeit unfairly) a pariah in pop culture. Everybody, from Leno to Eminem, pokes fun at her. Most people won’t vote for her simply on the basis of that idiotic, “See Russia from my house,” SNL skit, which she never even said! Face it, most Americans are sheep. Their heads are in the clouds. When it comes to voting, they trust the opinions of Jon Stewart and Lady Ga Ga.

Look at who they are ignoring; that’s who you vote for.

The media is also foaming at the mouth for Huntsman and Romney right now. I’d avoid them like the plague just on that basis- even without knowing their RINO records.

Palin is an opportunist. Sure she’s got the right message to energize the Republican crowd, but her record is extremely thin (not as thin as Obama’s- I know). By record, I refer to her fiscally “conservative” bona fides. She left Alaska high-and-dry to make money, and by the looks of it, she has made A LOT. She lost me, and millions of conservatives, when she abandoned her post as governor. You don’t run out on the people and then go after an even bigger office, with more responsibilities.

The truth is Liberals would love Palin to run, because the narrative has already been written for her. I’d compare a Palin run to George Bush trying to run for a 3rd term (if that

I have a feeling the bus tour was to give the Palins the chance to experience campaign atmosphere with out officially being in the campaign so they could decide as a family what their future would be, and they have gone back to Alaska with the decision.
Presidential families do get some perks (i.e. trips across the world once only done by those with kingly bloodlines), but the families sacrifice far more freedoms. I don’t think it would be wise to run for President, and not have the full knowledge, support, faith, and acceptance by your family in the cause. If you didn’t, I recon you would turn out to be a pretty crappy President, as your family would be on a non-stop vacation leaving you with no familial support. Just my $.02

Oh, dear! Another “we can’t figure Palin out!” story. Meanwhile, we’ve got Bachman surging 9 points ahead of Romney. http://poorrichardsnews.com/post/6769170766/zogby-poll-michele-bachmann-takes-the-lead

I don’t really think it matters if Palin run or not. She’ll be able to make a huge splash with an endorsement. If she runs, great! If not, she’ll still be effective.

Looking_both_ways….I am not so far to the right that I’m a Libertarian, and neither is Sarah Palin. She’s not an isolationist, not a conspiricist, not an atheist, not a druggie, not a moonbat. The leftists can’t get enough government, Libertarians can’t get little enough government, and conservatives are right there with Limited Government and the Constitution (and the Founders). I’m fully aware of the danger of both the left and the far right. I think people can mistakenly get the impression that Palin is far right, but it’s only because she actually takes the leftists to task on policy and since the democraps are left of Lenin, she appears far right from them…which of course she is, but still safely left of anarchism.

Sarah is continuing to “drum up” support on the national stage…but not to run for POTUS. Rather, I believe she will run for Kyl’s seat in AZ for US Senate. It would give her additional national cred, put at her at arms reach of Gov. Brewer, and right in the middle of the immigration reform debate. Not to mention put her again alongside McCain, and make it well known the differences between the two. Everytime she speaks, the cameras are rolling, and the people in AZ love her.

Every move she makes she probably has to think about it 4 dimensionally as to how they will use it against her. What they have been permitted to do to her by the American people is disgraceful. Worst off I think the lack of backlash from the public to the media on their treatment of her shows how serious the situation is and how brainless the majority of them are! The real candidates deserve the limited news coverage not a mere art or movie critic. Soon her supporters will realize what she has always known. It is much easier to critic than to actually govern. Sarah IS NOT and WILL NOT run for the 2012 Presidency. She stated early on, when she first stepped down as Governor of Alaska, that she wanted to SUPPORT the conservatives in their bids for election or re-election. SHE IS DOING THAT. Why are some of you so hard-headed that you just don’t get that??? Oh, that’s right, you have a 1-sided view of everything, just like the Progressives – YOU READ TINY LITTLE THINGS INTO EVERYTHING ANYONE SAYS just because YOU think they will be good for the country. I really like Sarah and if she ever did decide to run, I believe she would win, but I do not believe she is interested in the Presidency this time around. Personally, I did not agree with her when she decided to resign her Governorship. That showed me something about her character. If she had REAL courage, she would have continued as Governor, in spite of the mean leftists. She should have done her homework on McCain, also. McCain is cronyism in the highest form and America does NOT want another crony politician. Sarah could have done better with someone else. I think this is what hurt her – McCain, that pitiful moderate so-called conservative, who agrees with anyone and everything, as long as he us well-served personally. America IS SICK AND TIRED OF THESE POLITICIANS, so let’s get a consensus going NOW and choose someone already. Stop saying that there is no one, when THERE IS! As far as I am concerned, if you have to DEFEND YOURSELF for something you believe, then you really don’t believe in it that deeply, do you? I ignore such people who, on a board nonetheless (very cowardly, I might add), want to pick a fight. What kind of character do you have that you have to defend your beliefs? If you believe in God, will you kill someone to get your point across, like Islam? YOU ARE THE PROBLEM – BOTH OF YOU. You allow people to get under your skin because YOU ARE NOT DISCIPLINED ENOUGH in your own life to walk away from the bully. You like to PROVOKE. You both have sorry characters. He calls Palin a “quitter” because it would take effort and harpoon his agenda to explain just how and why she went about handing over the Governorship to the Lieutenant Governor, protecting him and the important work that needed done from the frivalous lawsuits. This is the problem with Palin, she doesn’t see things through, no follow up. Seem‘s like there’s always a “distraction”, first quitting her Governor job, then her reality TV, now her bus tour. But please, by all means keep donating your cash to her “campaign” she needs an outfit for “dancing with the stars”

“She better keep Rep. Giffords squarely in her cross hairs! (again) And remember: you have to go for the Heart to take out a Democrat, not the brain.”

Empirically looking at results, not “good intentions”, of their programs, and all the damage and suffering they’ve caused humans, the decimation of the nuclear family, the destruction of the black family, the assault on the culture, the assault on the economy, etc., democraps don’t have a heart. Nor, as you pointed out, do they have a brain in the normal place, the crosshairs would have to be placed on the A$$ in order to nail what little brain leftists have. Democraps are such abysmal failures because of that lack of a brain and because their decisions are predicated on emotion, hysteria, predisposition and junk science. More succintly stated, they are emotional basket cases.

Finally, Rep. Giffords has more in common with Sarah Palin than with Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, et al. By all accounts Rep. Giffords is pro-American.

Yep, 1/3 of the posts in this first section are from those who are very afraid of Sarah. They are swarming around just for a hint of Sarah, and then they frenzy to post something “astute.” FAIL. They trip over one another, they are so very afraid.

How does she do it, she’s just a mom from Alaska. Why would they fear her? Maybe they’ve had problems trying to date beautiful and smart women, or perhaps in their world, those are opposing traits and they just can’t fathom the two together. But wait, there’s more, she’s happily married. Now that’s a conundrum for our trolls. But there’s more, she has a loving family, whoa. That’s got to be mind-boggling for our trolls. She has them so amazed that they don’t quite know how to be gentlemen in her presence (or out of her presence). But then that’s the left for you.

Perhaps this is associated with the fact that it isn’t getting her cheap new coverage, given that no one cares what she does.

Then why did your media twits giver her so much coverage? Why did they spend so much time following her around? Seems to me that you idiots couldn’t get her off your mind. Wow, what an idiot. Sarah never finishes anything? From her facebook:

*Sigh* Reports of Tour Demise Are Greatly Exaggeratedby Sarah Palin on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 4:14pm
Imagine our surprise when reading media reports today that the “One Nation Tour” has been cancelled. Why didn’t anyone tell me? Oh, wait, that’s because it hasn’t been cancelled. (Good ol’ media… you never cease to amaze!)

As I said myself at the end of the east coast leg of the tour, the summer is long, and I’m looking forward to hitting the open road again. The coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan.

I wouldn’t think it to be such a slow news day that, what with numerous wars and serious economic woes concerning Americans, a bus is driving news stories today. The next leg of the tour continues when the time comes. In the meantime, no one should jump to conclusions – certainly not the media with their long track record of getting things wrong or just making things up.

@ I support God’s Israel!,who Posted: “. America IS SICK AND TIRED OF THESE POLITICIANS, so let’s get a consensus going NOW and choose someone already. Stop saying that there is no one, when THERE IS! You have Herman Cain, Perry, etc.”

You are soooo right! We dare not fall to fighting among ourselves, or applying impossible “litmus tests” to every candidate, and we DO need to settle on one fairly quickly and support them with all we have, then VOTE AS A BLOC in 2012. If we do not do that, we will have another 4 years of The Great Eared One. I’m not sure our country will survive until 2012 under his tender care, but we surely cannot survive another 4 years of his “leadership”!

And once we pick a candidate, we MUST not let the liberal media IGNORE them to death like they usually do. In allowing this to happen, we allow the progressive to choose the Republican nominee time after time–that is why we get tired old retreads like John McCain and Mitt Romney. Just listen to the MSM–they have already annointed Romney as the nominee, so it is obvious he is the Progressives’ choice, because he CANNOT WIN!

@sparky101 – what was the point of your listing people you deem to be “anti Sarah parasites”? Did it add to the conversation here? Did ask or answer a question put forward? All it did was showcase your inability to take questions/facts and address them or even to process them in an intelligent manner.
Sadly the think skin you seem to have is similar to your hero Ms. Palin. If it bothers you to have disenting opinion posted perhaps you should stick to Sarah’s facebook page were non hero worship comments are quickly removed so as to not offend the fans.

I make a comment about Palin‘s motives and that’s parasitic? Huh. I’m looking for a candidate for the GOP, not a celebrity like Palin who has no intention of running. If she announces she’ll run, then pay attention to her. But… she won’t. She’s Donald Trump come again, using her popularity for money, not to help our country kick out Obama. It’s egoism, not patriotism, that sparked this tour.
