Palin‘s Santorum Response Includes Talk of ’Context’ & ‘Knuckle-Dragging Neanderthal’

It would have been safe to bet that when Sarah Palin appeared on Sean Hannity‘s show last night Hannity would ask her about Rick Santorum’s recent comments about her. He did. And Palin responded in her own unique way.
As we noted yesterday, Santorum’s comments that Palin turned down the CPAC keynote invitation for financial and family reasons seem to have been overblown. And on Wednesday night, Palin agreed that the comments may have been “taken out of context.” End of story, right?
Not really. After making the “context” remarks, Palin went on to invoke the image of a “knuckle-dragging neanderthal” while also mentioning Santorum’s wife. Mediaite offers a transcript of the response:
I think the reports were much worse than what he really said. I think some things were really taken out of context. So I will not call him the knuckle dragging neanderthal that perhaps others would want to call him. I’ll let his wife call him that instead.
What did she mean? We don’t know. But we do know that Santorum appeared with Greta Van Susteren later in the evening to respond to Palin’s response, and he clarified that he was not “knocking” Palin as Politico suggested. Santorum and Van Susteren also took a few minutes to criticize the mainstream media. Both party’s responses below:

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 10:05amIf conservatives don’t WAKE UP and realize Palin is THE candidate, we’re gonna continue to be adding these comments to unnecessary stories for the next 6 years!!!
Remember one very important trait that Reagan had, and which was vital to his success – he put his ideals above being popular, early on. He wasn’t afraid to piss people off and this is the mindset that must be at the forefront in terms of problem-solving.
The thing about Palin that will make her a huge success as president is that she doesn’t over-complicate issues that are simple, and she certainly doesn’t fear ******* anybody off in tackling these issues, which is really the first step towards problem resolution.
Guys – you put a weak-kneed candidate in and even if he gets elected, he’ll be a complete disaster and will set our party back another 8 years.
So, no more speak of Huck, Romney or any of the other candy asses. We all need to rally around Palin and become galvanized early, so that we don’t leave the enemy with the feeling that we may have some doubt.
And, to those who argue that Palin can’t beat Obama, I say, who cares? Would you rather have somebody that can beat Obama but fail as president, thereby setting the republicans back another 8 years? All you’re doing by electing dems and candy-ass repubs is putting off the inevitable.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 8:32pmYeah–maybe picking someone so willfully ignorant will galvanize the Left to rally around a real candidate too–the anti-Palin. An intellectual, with a true understanding of the economy and society, the problems facing our nation, and the determination, courage, and charisma to lead our people through the necessary reforms and forge the political coalitions necessary to do so, someone passionately devoted to the empowerment of our people, the enrichment of our nation, and selfless devotion as their servant through the State. Confident and close to the people–one who know’s their sufferings, who can understand all our people, even the capitalists, as parts of a larger social system that is beyond them, and understand their positions even if they don’t agree with them–can sympathize with the difficulty of change, employ discretion and a light touch, yet also understands the necessity of change for the survival of our people and has the strength of will and farsightedness to hold off opposition to the necessary reforms and see them through, placing the people first and foremost.

The GOP establishment, working in concert with democrats and the liberal media have tried for over two years to damage Sarah Palin because she is a singular threat to their respective grips on power – it has not worked. Sarah Palin is a true reformer and has the ability to change the course of this nation and return us to greatness – she always wins in the end and has the support of a vast number of Americans because she never retreats – she stands firmly upon her beliefs and never wavers. So it in her own words, February is a busy month for them (the Palin’s) and it conflicts with other engagements and therefore can not attend. Sarah said this last year. Rick Santurom didn’t say anything wrong. How can Sarah Palin be the Republican Presidental Candidate if she doesn’t attend CPAC, the most important conservative gathering we have? Wait, wait, I know…She’ll go next year to try to suddenly be the star of the convention and the Republican conservative candidate. Yeah, see that‘s politics as usual and that’s not good. I am afraid I agree with this, just not with the vehemence you display…I love Palin. I think she is brilliant. But…She has blown it the last few months. She is a great cheerleader, and she has a way of rallying the right. But she has not gone into the detailed, in-depth commentary that she needed to provide. Even though she is brutally attacked from all sides she must still learn to rise above it much like GW did. While nowhere near as thin-skinned as Obama, she just will not let even the most minor slight go.
I wanted to see some substance from Palin the last year. Instead I only see harder cheerleading and even some fairly major faux pas. She does not need to run, it would be a waste of her time and money and she would only serve to split the right, She should have been gaining supporters these last 6 months, instead she is losing the confidence of people like me who are starting to see that there are much better candidates out there. Again, I love her to death…And she needs to keep doing what she is doing. She is a good, strong, righteous voice for conservative politics and she is a freat weapon for our side. But she is not presidential material…

“I would take bullets for her. God Bless our next President. Oh yes she will be our next President. President of the United States of America Sarah Palin. This woman will change the world. Islam, freaks of nature”
wow, you would trade your life for hers huh? your life must have no value. she wouldn’t save your life for ten dollars. you should be under surveillance dude.
the reason she wont be president, is that she is so polarizing. dems don’t like her. independents dont like her. and only half the republicans like her. she gets destroyed in polls, that say obama would crush her head to head. she is an honorable woman, but she couldn’t finish a single term, her knowledge of america and our history is embarrassing, and she acts like a 15 year old girl when someone criticizes her. I want a REAL GOP candidate.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 11:44amWow I am absolutely amazed at people on both sides of the political spectrum that want to slam Palin for her responses and yet in their own responses to opposing views on the blaze demonstrate their inability to follow their own advice for her !!!! I know she is in public and we are not but I think it is very hard to swallow verbal criticism from people who don’t follow it themselves in a setting that is not near as threatening or vicious as anything she or her family has endured. It‘s easy to cast stones when you haven’t endured or experienced the same thing. Where has grace and understanding gone in this country.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 11:50amShe has been attacked and denigrated (along with her family, including her children) more than any other politician hands down. I know even some liberal news anchors acknowledge that much and some times she has brought it on her self. But give her a break on this. How many stupid things have many politicians including presidents said or done in the emotion of verbal interchange or response. Yes certainly there are other, I believe, more formidable presidential candidates, but to eat our own young is crazy !!!

How come they didn’t show up in Eden or on the Ark??.

Are you an inconsistent person because you fear someone of faith more than anything else???? Hmmmm maybe your not as open-minded as you like to pretend ??? Maybe you could give us your factual information on the age of things and the origins of life/universe. I hope you know that most scientific experts at the pinnacle of their respective fields from mathematics, biochemistry, molecular biology, astronomy, quantum physics are more and more favoring intelligent design model as our universe origin. AND NO they are not Christian or religious in any way. Look it up for yourself dude !!!

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 1:22pmFor JVS………..Even during the campaign, there were hints of the thin skin on criticism. He didn’t want Maureen Dowd commenting on his big ears. His “people” tried to silence radio and newspaper voices in Chicago who were negative towards him. He threw reporters from newspapers that didn’t endorse him off “Obama Air” in the waning days of the campaign. He called out Sean Hannity and the Fox News Channel. Interestingly enough, when the Pew Research Center looked at the coverage of the candidates in the general election, Fox News Channel had almost an even split of stories about each candidate — they were indeed balanced.
Then there was the appearance of “pay to play” during the inaugural coverage. ABC News was the big monetary sponsor of Obama’s Neighborhood Ball and they were the only broadcast outlet to get an on-air interview with the new president on Inauguration Day. As a final nail in the Inauguration Day snub of the media, there was the swearing-in “redo” and no broadcast media sources were asked.
To make it up to the media, President Obama came down to visit the White House press corps and didn’t get a warm reception on either side. So what’s a guy to do? If President Obama doesn’t like the way the media is treating him, maybe he should talk to former President Bush. The coverage of Obama is overwhelmingly positive and even in that context he complains. On top of that Robert Gibbs is so inept, he makes Scott McClellan look like Mike McCurry of the Clinton era — and that takes some doing.
Finally, Obama’s feeble attempt to attack talk radio and his calling out Rush Limbaugh by name really shows it’s getting to him. Presidents are above that kind of fray and it comes with the job. He’s had two years of adulation; he’s got to get ready for the fall. Clearly he wants to be liked. He’s like Clinton in that way: a guy growing up without a father looks to the adulation to fill the gap. But once you get into the Oval Office, all that stuff has to go by the wayside and you have to work for the people. It’s not talk any more; it’s action. I hope that answers your question !!!

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 1:55pmveryseniorcitizen,
Prove that it is older than 6 thousand years! You might be surprised to find out that you cannot. You can show evidence, but take the time to examine the evidence. It is all easily refuted. It mostly consists of radiometric dating, starlight, the fossil record and ice core samples. But all of these evidences depend on assumptions.
You might also be surprised to learn that modern creation theories are actually very complete and account for all the scientific facts. I use the term facts as things that are known and undisputed by anyone. Things like polystrate fossils, geological upwarps and unconformities, flood evidence…Things that we see and have to explain. Creation theories explain more of these facts that leave evolutionists mystified. Then we have all the young earth evidences. Helium diffusion, fission tracks in zircon, salinity of the oceans…
In the end I can understand your position. Especially if you are as old as your name implies. You were taught things as fact, it is “accepted science.” Unfortunately, that is far from the truth. The reality is evolution is all but dead as a viable theory among the serious scientific community. They know life did not form on earth, that horse has been beaten to death. That is why you see all the UFO shows on the History channels. They HAVE to turn to deep space for the beginnings of life. That is the only thing that is keeping their theory alive. It will just take time for the media and academia to catch up.
Listen, you believe what you want. I can no more prove God and a young earth than you can prove evolution and an old earth. I just ask that you wake up to the fact that your position is as unattainable as Palin’s. You ridicule her beliefs yet yours are even more foolish when you look at them scientifically. She has life arising from intelligent design, just like God’s Word says. You might not believe the Bible, but did you ever consider what it would mean if it were true? On the other hand, you have life arising from non-life, which is a contradiction of the scientific law of biogenesis, then you have one species turning into another, which has NEVER been observed or evidenced. But Palin does not laugh at you!
In answer to your question; creationists hold that “Neanderthal” is just another human much that an oriental skeleton appears different than a Norseman. They were not ion the Garden of Eden or on the Ark. They were a group that arose from the dispersion after the Tower of Babel. They were a more northern tribe that lived in the ice age that followed the flood. Do we know all this as fact? Nope. But my guess is as good as yours…is as good as some ape descendant wearing a lab coat…

First European Conference on Intelligent Design Will Feature Scientists Presenting Evidence for Design From Biology, Paleontology and Astrophysics
“The conference will clearly demonstrate that the theory of intelligent
design is based upon scientific evidence and discoveries in fields such as
biochemistry, molecular biology, paleontology and astrophysics,” said speaker
Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, director of Discovery Institute’s Center for Science &
Culture, himself an Oxford educated philosopher of science. “Many in Europe
know intelligent design and the case against Darwin’s theory of evolution only
through inaccurate accounts they have received from the media, and this
conference will help educate them on what intelligent design is really about.”

Not one country of the european union teaches creationism or intelligent design in schools or non private universities.
Over there nearly everyone seems to get that you cant take scripture without interpreting it and that so called “holes” in the theory of evolution dont prove creation.
And yes, intelligent design HAS to prove everything, you can allways just point to god…
