Palin Resurrects ‘WTF’ Phrase to Blast Obama on Giving Missile Defense Secrets to Russia

Not to say that she is for sure running for president, but Sarah Palin just released a Facebook note that resembles the framework of a foreign policy speech on the campaign trail.

In it, she blasts President Obama for wanting “to give Russia our missile defense secrets because he believes that we can buy their friendship and cooperation with this taxpayer-funded gift.”

Palin’s note is based on an article on the site Foreign Policy, which reveals that the administration recently threatened to veto the defense budget if the House included a provision that would limit what the U.S. could share with Russia about our missile defense system. The House passed the provision anyway.

“Through its single-minded pursuit of ‘resetting’ relations with Russia, the Obama administration may simply be willing to hand over this information and, in doing so, weaken U.S. national security,” the Foreign Policy authors write.

Based on that, Palin resurrects her “WTF” pun, which simultaneously represents the phrase “what the fu**” and Obama’s mantra of “winning the future.”

“Does this make sense to you?” she asks. “Me neither. File this under ‘WTF.’”

You can read the whole note below:

As Governor I fought the Obama Administration’s plans to cut funds for missile defense in Alaska. So imagine how appalled and surprised I was to read this article by former Clinton CIA Director James Woolsey, appropriately titled “Giving Away the Farm,” concerning President Obama’s latest bizarre actions relating to missile defense.

President Obama wants to give Russia our missile defense secrets because he believes that we can buy their friendship and cooperation with this taxpayer-funded gift.  But giving military secrets and technologies to a rival or competitor like Russia is just plain dumb.  You can’t buy off Russia.  And giving them advanced military technology will not create stability.  What happens if Russia gives this technology (or sells it!) to other countries like Iran or China?   After all, as Woolsey points out, Russia helped Iran with its missile and nuclear programs. Or what happens if an even more hardline leader comes to power in the Kremlin?

We tried buying off the Kremlin with technologies in the 1970s.  That policy was a component of “detente,” and the hope was that if we would share our technologies with them, they would become more peaceful.  Things, of course, didn’t work out that way.  The Kremlin took western technologies and embarked on a massive military building program. History teaches that peace comes from American military strength.  And a central component of that has always been technological superiority.  Why would President Obama even dream of giving this away?

Members of Congress saw how foolish President Obama’s gambit was, so they put a section in the defense appropriation bill that specifically forbids the federal government from spending money to share these technologies with the Kremlin.  President Obama actually threatened to veto the defense appropriation bill over this section of the law! Fortunately, the House passed the bill with a veto-proof majority, a whopping 322 to 96. Attention now turns to the Senate.

Why is it that President Obama seems to work so hard to give things to our enemies, while at the same time asking friends and allies like Israel to make sacrifices?

During these tough economic times when we are facing massive deficits and a competitive global economy, does President Obama really want to give away technologies that the American taxpayer paid lots of money to develop?  Giving away our missile defense secrets won’t make us safer.  What it will do is create a situation where we are facing an arms race with ourselves. Russia gets access to our technologies, and we are forced to spend even more money because of the need to stay ahead. Does this make sense to you? Me neither. File this under “WTF.”

- Sarah Palin

Any 2012 candidate will have to prove that they either have foreign policy experience or at least understand the foreign-policy challenges facing the nation. This sure looks like an attempt by Palin to do just that.

Because she has over come every malicious, intrusive attack she has become bulletproof in a way and very effective in hammering the left, but not electable because she needs the undesided voters who dont get her unfortunatlly, I think. P.S. Im a male and hope i dont sound like a chauvinistic pig.Given that,I think she would be ten times better than Obummer.

Not necessarily no one else stands a chance, BUT, no one else seems to be willing to take the arrows! If the early Americans had the character of those in the Repub party today (general terms of those interested in presidency.) Paul Revere would have had no one to alert, because they’d all have been home preparing “Tea & Crumpets” for the Kings emissaries! General Washington would have had many fewer troops to pray for in the snow, because most would have given up and gone home to write letters to the editor! And Patrick Henry would have been looking up the words, (spelling and grammatical usage) in Webster Bros. dictionary before looking for some good speech writer!
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT WORD “LIBERTY” MEANS ANYWAY! Probably something we‘ll find out when Nancy Pelosi’s finally had a chance to read that healthcare law! [because it will be no more!]

Clinton’s Gop Critics Off Target On Missiles Treason? Fact Is, George Bush Also Backed China’s Launches.
June 21, 1998|By Steven Thomma, INQUIRER WASHINGTON BUREAU

Did President Clinton sell out the United States? Leading Republicans say that he did, that he let the Chinese have missile secrets and thus helped them aim nuclear bombs at the United States.

But a careful look at the facts and the records available shows that some of the most serious accusations are false and that others are far from proved.

Any transfer of missile secrets to the Chinese – by far the most serious of these accusations – came from a private satellite company, not from Clinton or his administration and not with his approval.

In fact, it was President Bush who approved a Chinese satellite launch that failed and that might have led to the illegal transfer of missile technology.

Moreover, if the company did give the Chinese forbidden technology, it is not clear how much it helped a country that probably has been able to hit the United States with its missiles for nearly two decades.

Hey KOOk you forgot this from your article. How convenient.

Certainly there are substantive questions to be asked about the eagerness with which the Clinton administration helped the politically well-connected U.S. telecommunications company continue to do business with China even while the company was being investigated for allegedly sharing secret technology with the Chinese earlier. Many Democrats agree that the matter should be investigated.

To my mind, it‘s quite unbecoming to use such language and continue to flaunt one’s Christianity. It doesn’t matter at all that she used initials. Ephesians 5:4 reminds us that our speech and humor should be completely clean. I’ll say it another way, if I wouldn’t feel comfortable saying the language in a prayer or behind the pulpit, then I shouldn’t say it in public, in private, or even inside my own head.

Will there be anyone who truly embodies Christian values in this election? I’m watching you closely, Mr. Cain.

      WTF is she thinking?

“Despite the best efforts of some hawkish interventionists to pretend that arms control is a relic of the past and irrelevant to today’s problems, they are the ones most likely to portray Russia as an existing or emerging threat to its neighbors.

They should be the ones most eager to limit and constrain Russia through treaty obligations. Even if they don’t believe that Russia will comply with the treaty, it is hawks who should want to impose obligations and limits on Russia’s arsenal.

Instead, it is the most anti-Russian and hawkish figures who are effectively enabling Russian power.

What is remarkable about this is that these are the same people who could not stop haranguing the administration for betraying Poland and the Czech Republic when there was no betrayal, and they are the ones who remain convinced that it is the administration that is giving in to Russian demands when Russia has obtained virtually nothing tangible from the “reset.”

Now that they are presented with an opportunity to side with European allies in support of greater U.S. and European security, they have opted instead for a rejectionist position that would keep the U.S. largely blind to Russian activities, increase uncertainty about Russia’s arsenal, and add to allied anxieties about potential Russian threats.

Sarah Palin has massive credibility and the nomination is hers for the taking. That‘s why every hack in both establishment party’s are doing everything they can to get us another Mccain as our nominee.

She not from there and she won’t go along to get along with them. It‘s obvious that they have no control over her and that’s one of the reasons they don’t want her there.

It’s real easy this time folks, she’s one of us, not one of them. She smart, I know they call her stupid but they know better and are trying to pick our nominee for us. I can tell you what DCs reaction would be to a President elect Palin. SH*T!

The careerist bureaucrats of course, will yawn and then do everything they can to sabotage her but she’s smart enough to know that and unlike common DC creatures, a temper that they probably don’t want to excite.

But I have faith that God is in control and He’ll see to it that the person HE wants will win. Pray for them all.
As to Cain – he has said he would appoint Muslims to his cabinet if they “showed” they would adhere to the Constitution, etc. so he doesn’t get it either about Muslims either & that bothers me. There’ll always be something. And yes, I wouldn’t be surprised about his “language” at times either.

As governor, Palin demonstrated many of the qualities we expect in our best leaders. She set aside private concerns for the greater good.
She succeeded to a remarkable extent in settling, at least for a time, what had seemed insoluble problems, in the process putting Alaska on a trajectory to financial well-being.

While other states reel under staggering deficits, budget cuts, and protests, Alaska has built up a $12 billion surplus, most of it attributable to Palin’s tax. Galvin estimates that it has raised $8 billion more than Murkowski’s tax would have. But given the corruption that plagued the PPT, a better benchmark might be the tax it supplanted—the one put on the books after the Exxon Valdez spill. By that measure, Palin’s major achievement has probably meant the difference between a $12 billion surplus and a deficit…

On the big issues she left the state in better shape than most people, herself included, seem to realize or want to credit her for.

Palin’s achievement was to pull Alaska out of a dire, corrupt, enduring systemic crisis and return it to fiscal health and prosperity when many people believed that such a thing was impossible

This has COMPLETELY turned me off to Bachman, and prior to this I thought she was a great woman, and she still may be BUT NOT as POTUS…..

Also, Glenn Beck repeated over and over prior to his big rally that it was NOT a political even, but then can you tell me out of all of the people there, Bachman insisted on having her OWN GROUP OF SUPPORTERS, UNDER HER TENT, SEPARATED OUT TO SOMEHOW DRAW ATTENTION TO HERSELF, AND BUILD UP HER CAMPAIGN, yet I suppose out of kindness, Glenn nor anyone else mentioed it.

But at the end of the day, that speaks to her self serving, self promotion, and ,now her lack of judgemnt in Ed Rollins, and it has been almost now an entire week, and she has yet to act in a executive manner, which is compatable, to what I am looking for……..NO to Michelle for me, she was not my first pick, but now I place her at the bottom of the barrel with romney, gingrich, pawlenty, etc etc.
