Palin Targeted: White Powder Mailed to ‘Dancing With the Stars’

A mysterious white powder was discovered at ABC’s Dancing with the Stars studio in Hollywood late Friday.

A member of the show’s staff reportedly found a white substance in an envelope that prompted an evacuation.  The substance was later confirmed to be non-toxic.

Some media outlets are reporting that the powder was found in an envelope addressed to Bristol Palin.  New York Daily News reports:

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene at the CBS Television City studio on Friday night, and evacuated part of the building while they investigated.

Shortly after the report emerged, ABC released a statement confirming the substance was harmless. …

Palin, who has managed to avoid elimination on the show despite posting lower scores than her opponents, has taken quite a bit of heat from “Dancing” fans and fellow competitors for her continued success.

She has battled rumors of having a “diva” attitude on set, and conspiracy theories that a right-wing voting block has manipulated the system to keep her on the show each week.

Appearing on Fox News‘ ’On the Record’ earlier Friday evening, Palin and her dancing partner talked about the so-called “controversy” surrounding their placement in the competition’s final round:

I wonder why so many people offer up rude comments and spew venom at a young woman who is using her life experience to try to do some good in America. It makes me ill when I hear disparaging remarks about her or any other young person in a similar situation. Get over yourself already! If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything … and please remember … if you live in a glass house … well you know how this ends.

There are just as many people voting against her simply because of who her mom is! This is just stupid that someone would want to try to invoke fear. For Heavens Sake!! This is a TV Show! This will not change any political situation or moral situation, it is purely for entertainment. If people do not like she is on the show #1 Vote for someone else, or #2, simply push the little button that changes the channel or turns your television off!

I commend Bristol for hanging in there and accepting a brutal challenge, but her fans or political supporters have not done her or the family any favors, although ratings certainly benefit. Bristol should‘ve been eliminated before Kurt Warner but that’s not how the contest works. Brandi was a formative contender. A wacko was prompted by this perceived injustice to execute a terrorist threat by sending an envelop of white powder. Thank God it was not toxic.
(Hmmm. Could the puppetmaster’s characters be manipulating votes to torture the Palins?)
Allow Bristol to lose with dignity. She is not a star in the first place. Her son deserves a stable life and mom needs to establish one for both of them. Shimmy yourself back to Wasilla, Bristol.

Has anyone noticed the the top rated dancers get eliminated and the lowest rated (Brisol) remains? Does that sound like: 1. computer glitch, 2.inside job rigging the votes, 3. something to get the ratings up, 4. liberals (not conservatives) voting to make her and the show look bad (for even having her on the show). Is there a chance that this situation is only indirectely related to Bristol’s dancing ability?

Sarah Palin touts herself as the Über-Mama Grizzly With Magic Jesus Parenting Powers. When you put yourself on that pedestal and claim you have divine knowledge that guides you as a mother, don’t be surprised when you get called out when your spawn gets knocked up at 17 out of wedlock and/or spouts hate-speech on the Internet like every other kid out there. (Not that that makes it right.) If this were normal parents going through this, I could sympathize – to an extent – because they’re not walking around calling everyone heathens for letting their kids read Harry Potter. They’re just getting by while trying to raise uncontrollable ingrates, like any parent regardless of religious belief. On that note, I can only hope this situation demonstrates that every time a Christian mother wears squeezing a baby out as a badge of honor, or worse a prerequisite to run for office, because she “chose life,” she really did nothing more than choose the most biologically-satisfying game of baby-doll dress-up possible that’s still going to end in embarrassment and head-shaking because nobody has all the answers.

“Magic Jesus Parenting Skills”?? Do you mean how a mother is loving and forgiving and supports her child not if she does good or bad but because she is her daughter. I thought they showed a lot of dignity and pride. The mistake was in having sex outside the bonds of matrimony not in having a child and raising him the best you can.
I am very prouf of Bristol she is a 20 year old who made a mistake the the whole world got to witness and judge, yet she did this with grace, poise and dignity. I don’t think that she is a great dancer but everybody else is a performer. Bristol has improved in her dancing. She has my vote..
Why would someone do a prank like that against a child? It is disgusting and childish.

I LOVE Sarah Palin , and think she would be an awesome president. When I look at people I like to judge by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. I was saddened by what I say played out in the media by Katie and Charile , people who I used to watch as journalist. When it came down to this past election. I watched them treat her with disdane,. I watched as they repeatly asked her the same question over and over. She would answer the question, and say but I am not running for President John McCain is , and as his VP I will support him. They never asked Barack Hussein Obama 1 real guestion. Wonder why America is such a mess? Because in America’s desire to appear nonracist you voted the the first African-American, who wasn’t even qualified for the job. They said she did not have the qualifications to be VP, but she held elective office as Mayor and then Governor. That is more experince that the Junior senator from Ilinois, who goes around the world apologizing for America and bowing to King’s. Yes it is protocol to bow in Japan but that is a simple bowing of he head, what he did was as if he was bowing to Buddah. The POTUS doesn’t even respect the constitution.
LET ME MAKE THIS ONE THING CLEAR,.. UH EXCUSE ME FOLKS, . PRESIDENT OBAMA DID NOT BEAT GEORGE W BUSH, HE DEFEATED MCCAIN WHICH IS NOT HARD TO DO. HE COULD NEVER AND WOULD NEVER HAVE BEATEN BUSH IF THEY WERE TO RUN TOGETHER. HE WOULD NOT DEFEAT SARAH PALIN. I hope she decides to run!

Makes me want to cry. Bristol is a young girl who is already struggling with the demands of motherhood and being a public figure and she is now working at setting a good example of “when life deals you lemons make lemonade”. For someone to attack her in any way is horrid and is a reflection of the evilness of our society. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the Palins are attacked on any front. Is is because the light convicts the dark? Is it a spiritual battle between the prince of darkness trying to keep out any reflections of the light of God? I don’t know but it is sickening.

When they attack her, they sound like high school kids, who are being affected by the “green-eyed monster”. You can see the jealousy oozing out of their pores!! It’s really quite childish!! They resent the fact she can draw huge crowds with hardly an effort and that’s tough on those Democrats! If you want to talk about someone lacking experience, look at the current occupant of the Whitehouse!!! Now there’s an incompetent!!! She has ten time more governing experience than he does! And she has spent the last two years learning more about the rest of the world. How some people can think that a “right-wing voting block is manipulating the voting system” of Dancing With the Stars is beyond me. How can someone control people voting from all over the country. This is not his country (and I am not a “truther”, well sometimes), by which I mean he does not love the very ground he walks on, or reveres the White House and its history, it is merely a place where he goes to advance his agenda, or at least take orders from the people crafting his agenda. Sarah Palin would revere the office of president, the hallowed ground she walks on, and would do right by the American people to the best of her ability, with the help of a competent administration, and with the help of God.

Which reminds me, when everybody says that Bush “protected us” (except for that thing that happened on September 11th, shoe bomber etc.), why does no one remember the anthrax attacks? Is it just because people assume that horrid act wasn’t committed by a Muslim, and by definition it’s terrorism only if committed by a Muslim? JZS- agreed both are stupid. However this is just ANOTHER example of leftist tactics. They seem to want to preach “peace and tolerance” but are the first to become violent when they do not get their way or encounter contradictory ideas. The left constantly tries to portray the tea party and conservatives like me as racist and violent but can never seem to come up with any real examples of organized‘right wing violence’ but we can show that there is examples of the mainstream organized left purpetratinng fraud, violence and coverups. next the comparison for bush for 9-11 is inaccurate. Clinton was attacked as well..twice. Second we were all living in a different time and mentality. Nobody knew. Obama has had the benifit of 10 years worth of experience and he has approached terrorism with an incompotence that boarders deliberate. he has taken credit for Ideas that bush came up with (and obama fought against when he was senetor) and laid claim for their success. while at the same time repeated similar mistakes and half heartedly tried to handle serious crisis.
