Palin’s Publisher Files Suit Over Leaked Excerpts From New Book

You could see this coming from Palin’s tweet Thursday night.  We posted about that here.

NEW YORK (AP) — The publisher of Sarah Palin’s forthcoming book is suing Gawker Media for leaking pages before its release next week.

A spokeswoman for HarperCollins Publishers says the legal complaint over the excerpts from “America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag” was filed Friday in federal court in Manhattan.

The lawsuit asks that Gawker be banned from what it terms “further copyright infringement” and that Gawker deliver the source material to the publisher so it can be destroyed. HarperCollins is also seeking financial damages.

Gawker did not immediately respond to e-mails seeking comment. An item published Thursday and titled “Sarah Palin Is Mad at Us for Leaking Pages From Her Book” defends the blog’s actions and linked to web pages defining “fair use.”

Anyhoo, some of us “Palin haters” don’t actually hate the woman, we just hate the prospect of a second Obama term, which is exactly what a Palin nomination would guarantee. I wonder if you’ll be willing to publicly apologize if (God forbid) the Gov. wins the nomination and is handed her own ass by Obama. I have a very long memory, and will be calling on you and all the other deluded Palin bandwagoneers to admit how right I was and how wrong you were. We need a nominee who is smarter than Obama, and will be able to make a fool out of him in the Presidential debates. Mike Huckabee is that man. And Newt will anhililate any veep candidate he faces.       Your vitriol towards Sarah guarantees that I will not vote for your candidates. I could understand if you used arguments of substance to win us over, instead you just mock.

      It just so happens that there are things about Huckabee and Gingrich that I like, but neither could stand a chance against Sarah. Sure she may not be as slick in a debate as either of those two men, but neither of them would be dumb enough to try and sound as if they are attacking her. Besides, neither of these two men never had crowds of 50,000 people show up to any of their events. The majority of Conservative voters are with Sarah and that’s just the way it is.

      Yep, it is Harper Collins, the publisher, doing the suing. The H-C lawyers are chompin’ at the bit waiting to take this one on. Whoever did this had better find a good lawyer ASAP. Publishers take copyright infringement very seriously.

      Copyright laws are pretty straight forward when it comes to printed material. H-C will own the tookus of the person/s who did this. I love it!

    All of the attacks on Palin are about one thing and that is the age old good vs evil. Our world is full of people who have allowed themselves to be possessed by hate. I am certain Palin‘s concern doesn’t go beyond pity for these souls who are lost and have a sole purpose of hurting others. This hate is not confined to liberals either-there are people who claim to be conservative who have this same problem.

    I pray for Sarah and her family all the time.

    I don’t love her, but I don’t hate her. It is this kind of crap why I hope she doesn’t run for President.
    The trouble they cause for her will be even worse should she make it to the WH, and that is dangerous. We have lots of work to do after dealing w/Obama. If she truly loves her country she shouldn’t run, we need to win back the WH, and it’s not the worth taking the chance. She would be great in many other positions in gov’t, just not head honcho. She is young and has many years left to run for CIC.

      Nobody loves Sarah more than me. However, in 2012 I think we need to choose the best candidate for getting elected, not necessarily the best person for the job. Sarah is young, and I’m thinking maybe she would best serve in another cabintet level, like SEC of State, etc. Conservatives have a very large amount of talent to be used somewhere…so maybe we should just be concerned about taking the administration first. Soon the candidates will make their move and we will see who has the best shot of defeating Obama. Actually, all the potential candidates are capable of defeating him…and they would do a better job too.

      Sarah won’t run, she enjoys what she does too much to give that up. I don’t believe it would be good for our Nation to have her run, and I like her. The independents hate her and the Republican Party needs them.
      As for her suing, she has that right, as does everyone who feels like they’ve been infringed upon. I think it‘s funny that the media just can’t let go of her. She says boo and they are on it like flies on …

      I see it much differently than you do. Sarah is perfect for the job and stands a much better chance of getting elected than almost any other candidate presently considering a run for POTUS. But I do agree with you about all the smart and talented people out there. In fact, Sarah is at least smart enough to only hire the best and brightest for cabinet positions. What this country needs more than anything else right now is someone in the White House that is unabashedly proud about being PRO-AMERICAN. We need a leader that will help lift us up and she is a natural at that. Plus her Conservative credentials speak for themselves.

Obama may do a recess appointment of Andrew Traver a man who advocates the expansion of the prohibited person list to include any person who has ever been treated for any type of mental health issue, to run the BATFE.       Every person, company, or organization that runs or moderates a website has the right to sensor and control what is posted on the website.

      There are a lot of decent people out in the world that like to visit websites like this without some immature brat forcing the rest of us to read his filth. Moderators know this so they develop methods to keep the little immature brats from posting their filth on the sites.

      Of course, then there are people like yourself. You have such a strong desire to be offensive and force your filth on the rest of us that you come up with ways to get around automated sensorship. This, of course, makes you one of those immature brats.
