Parents of 6-Year-Old Pat-Down Girl Break Their Silence, Demand Change

The parents of a 6-year-old girl who received a thorough pat-down by a TSA agent at a security checkpoint in New Orleans broke their silence this morning to “Good Morning America.” Selene and Todd Drexel, from Kentucky, are now demanding the TSA change its security process for children.

Read our initial story.
Read the TSA’s response.

“We struggle to teach our kids to protect themselves, to say ‘no, it’s not ok to touch me in this way in this area,” the girl’s mother, Selena, said. “Yet here we are saying it’s ok for these people.”

According to her, she asked for alternatives but was denied: “I did ask for alternatives, I asked for her to be rescanned. They just refused and said they were going to do what they were going to do.”

The girl’s father, Todd, says the pat-down sends mixed message:

“Initially she was just confused,” Todd Drexel said. “She really didn’t understand what she had done wrong.” He said he and his wife struggled with how to explain to their child what had happened after teaching her previously it was not ok to be touched in certain places. “Now she’s been pat down in a public setting, in an airport.”

Parents of 6 Year Old Pat Down Girl Break Their Silence, Demand Change

According to ABC News, the TSA defended the pat-down but said it is looking into how it might change the screening system:

The TSA said it has reviewed the tape and that the “officer followed proper current screening procedures.“ They added they ”are exploring additional ways to focus its resources and move beyond a one-sized-fits-all system.”

The TSA is not about airline security, they are about controlling people, and teaching them to do as they are told without question or be punished! If everyone nation wide, refused to submit to these checks then no one would get on a plane, thus the airlines have no business, their planes don’t fly, they don’t make any money, and the airlines would see to it that these procedures were changed! We all might have to change our flying habits for a few days but you can bet that it would not last long!

The cops have been doing this to minorities in general on American streets for decades.

This isn’t a racial thing, the cops are just expanding their abuse to everyone, just like slavery never ended, it was expanded to everyone through monetary policy.

Sexual Offense charges should be immediately brought against all TSA agents who have manhandled any minor child! Every parent should launch a class action law suite immeidately against the TSA. And no..accept no payment other than all of those Agents face immeidate dismissal from their jobs, and criminal charges to include jail/prison and life time probation with ankle braclet!

We just make sure our destination isn’t too far to drive at all. I would take an entire week of driving over a 2 hour flight any day. I refuse to fly any more. Of course, if everyone else that was against these ‘screenings’ would refuse to fly as well, they would have to get rid of them. But again, just like with paying taxes, try to get people to work together…IF we fail and the progressives win, it will be simply because they organize for working together. We need to use their own tactics against them. Time to organize, people!!!

I’m trying so hard to wrap my mind around this. Let me see, in over 20 years of law enforcement experience, most in a high crime district of south Florida, I CAN NOT RECALL A SINGLE TIME WHEN I HAD TO CONDUCT A PAT-DOWN SEARCH OF A SIX YEAR OLD CHILD! Then again, back in the day we used a now PC incorrect technique called PROFILING. Yep, we even had classes to teach officers how to make his selections. I guess it worked too good and that‘s why the liberals won’t allow it to be utilized today.

It’s a sad day in AMERICA. My solution, I don’t fly. Buy an RV. You can spend more time with your family and limit those that enter. More important, it’s an extension of your home and FIREARMS are ALLOWED…

Well stated, but have you seen the price of Gas?
additionally, the TSA has no “police authority”, which is why if I personally am ever singled out will request the TSA officer bring in a police officer whom I will permit to “frisk” me as an trained police officer has the legal backing to do so. Will this cause a fuss, probably, but I am ambivalent in the matter.
All this PC bull has made is a cluster fuch of proven police techniques, and I think that is the intent.
Doing this to a six year old, is not only unconscionable but is tantamount to child molestation.
Question: have you witnessed the transition from local policing priority into instruction on police state type training?

And this goes for everyone that reads this article…and continue to do it EVERY time one of these stories surfaces…

Go to the TSA website and file a complaint. There is an option on the complaint email form that asks for the subject. Pick the Inappropriate/Pat-down Screening option. Make sure they know that the full body scanners and the pat down are amoral, an act of molestation, pornographic, and acts of pedophilia against children.

Complain..complain..complain…if we flood their complaint emails with hundreds of thousands of angry Americans…maybe just maybe…we can get a change made either back to the old system or to a smarter, profiling based system like the Israelis use.

And…we can all just REFUSE to fly. Eventually the airlines will complain due to lack of income and then Obama will be forced to pull the new measures. Also, complain to you local airports, newspapers, TV stations…make these pedophile videos go viral until the American people wake up…

Not that that surprised me, there’s a lot about Mr. ridge that I know to be a fact ( first hand information) that has been wiped from the Internet over these last two years. A child poses no threat there is nothing fair in randomly choosing a child for this. This is one area Jesse Ventura is from another planet on. What the TSA does outside of an airport would get one arrested. This must stop. The organization is the equivalent of mall security cops(no offense) the US needs to hire consultants from El-Al and start profiling. It doesnt matter that the Israelis only have a fraction of air traffic its all relative. If they have a 100 security staff on hand for 100 flights then the US needs to have the same ration whatever that is, so to use the excuse that they have fewer flights is exactly that an excuse. Has anyone in TSA thought about writing a SOP – Standard Operating Procedures manual that is the same for each airport and covers every situation instead of making it up as they go along. http://maboulette.wordpress.com

What leaders?! You can’t honestly say that the useful tools in DC are actually leaders. They couldn’t lead their way out of a paper bag lying on its side. They are idiots and apologists. They have no common sense whatsoever and honor and integrity?! They left that at the door when they came in.

Here we have a TSA agent molesting a 6 year old girl (there is no other way to describe this) and we have all the other agents, supervisors, managers, and government executives in agreement. What the #*%@ is going on! Has everyone lost their mind? Have the progressives completely conned everyone into liberal approved debauchery? I’ll bet the progressives at the top of TSA are laughing hard over our reaction to this. Generally speaking, progressives see nothing wrong with debauchery.

That is the real problem, they hire only perverts, child molesters. TSA hires those with IQ’s in the range
of 2 to 10. This is sickening these people have no reason to be alive. Sad and we pay these molesters.

Somewhere in a cave Bin Laden is sitting there reading this story laughing at us and telling his fellow terrorists “we’ve won”.

      @ Gew

I agree, having worked in a prison for 30 years, I witnessed several attempts by visiting relatives using their children to smuggle drugs in. And if suicide bombers are willing to strap bombs on their children, what’s to stop them from using children to take down planes? You can’t have it both ways people, either you want our airlines safe or not?

The only way to fix this is to get the Airlines to whine about it for you… STOP FLYING When Airports are ghost towns and Airlines see that their bottom line is affected by these sexual predators then something will be done to fix it.

This is an outrage, Obama should be ashamed of this… He is responsible since he is the TSA AGENT in CHIEF he owns this sexual predator Agency…

I wish I was making this up. There is a large magnolia tree in my yard. The neighborhood kids love to play in it. I have caught them playing TSA….. In the sixties we called it something else. Brave New World?

even if they threatened to put me in jail, I would NOT have let them GROPE my daughter. She is so young she can not possibly know what was going on. Of course it was confusing. Her parents taught her that her body is hers. But then she was allowed to be groped.

      @Thun

There was a terrorist that exploded an arse bomb on a flight in Saudi Arabia. Nobody has suggested a protology exam to get on a flight. There is no way to search everything. Is a stomach bomb next? Or an implanted bomb in the breast? No…the liberals want to get people used to getting groped by authorities under the false pretense of security. Profiling and interviewing is a much more secure way to do this but it don’t fit into the liberal playbook.

I’m sick of our government and their talking heads (in this case the commentator) saying this is what we have to do in the world we live in now. B.S. I am never going to understand why it’s okay to treat the citizens of this country ALL like criminals to pacify certain groups that they are not discriminatory. What it comes down to is that terrorists attack us, and WE PAY with our rights. There is a way to catch these people–very simple ways. Look at Israel! Does anyone remember flying before all of this stuff occurred? We didn’t have problems like this. I can remember when the TSA was first introduced–and it was simple. You walked through to make sure you weren’t carrying weapons. That was it. No problems in general. Now, we are expected to show up at the airport hours in advance and go through invasive procedures and stand in unusually long lines to do it. In the amount of time we spend in the airport, in many cases, we could have driven. Given that they aren’t catching a lot of the problems based on their p.c. methods of pat downs, etc.–I think the end goal is to make air transportation a non-option and in so much trouble that they require huge bailouts by the taxpayer. Once that is done, you have G.E. all over again–only with the airline industry, the government gets to ultimately choose if you get to travel AT ALL.

TSO‘s being referred to in the story aren’t Agents. Just a little FYI. The process and requirements to become a TSO, an applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screening test and a background investigation, including a criminal check and a credit check. To my most recent knowledge, a psych evaluation is not conducted as a requirement for employment, nor is one administered at any time after employment is gained. There are a lot of people on this planet who have committed crimes and just haven’t been caught.

The TSA isn’t the problem, it is the hiring process to weed out undesirables. Fix that and you will see a dramatic change. Besides, if we dumped the TSA what does anyone suppose we put in it’s place?

Couldn’t agree more! I have an 8 year old, I would currently be in jail now for assault. There are somethings that don’t need to be done, and scanning or groping kids should be out. I will now be searching to find out what airports have these machines and tactics, and avoid them. Gee, I bet that is what a potential hijacker would do as well. Dumb as bricks in DC. They are three steps behind. From the latest “intel” I read, the potential terrorists are trying to find a way to implant a bomb into their intestinal track or in the abdomen. Can’t be seen by the “super scan” and can’t be felt, because it is squishy like fat. Behind again DC.
