Part 2: CEO Peter Schiff Tells Occupy Wall Street Protesters: ‘FDR Was the Barack Obama of Their Day’

Yesterday The Blaze brought you a compelling video clip of a successful CEO and financial expert taking on the other “99%” at Occupy Wall Street.

Today, we bring you part two of that exchange. In the following video, Peter Schiff fields questions from Occupy protesters at Zuccotti Park. At one point, Schiff tells the social-program-loving activists that President Franklin D. Roosevelt created the Great Depression. “He was the Barack Obama of their day.”

MRCTV brings us the video. Watch the sparks fly.

      I seen it a few years ago and they showed the case of a man who beat the IRS in court,the government couldn’t produce a law that allowed the federal government to collect income taxes,they couldn‘t produce the statute because one doesn’t exist.

      The sixteenth amendment was never correctly ratified,read the law that never was.

      Nice video want to know see more of how far we have fallen and the reason behind OWS. We have a generation of kids that are lost. We need to put them on an I.V of Jesus before the day of judgement. We need to pray for the people on Wall St. Jesus say you have heard to hate your enemy’s. But i tell you today to love those who hate you. This video grieves my spirit to see how far we have fallen. It hurts my heart to know how many are lost. But we need to fight for them in pray and fasting. Satan comes to kill steal and destroy. Look around what do you think is happening. Now the Blaze has deleted the story about the best month Wall Street has had since 1974 because it doesn’t jibe with the doom and gloom Glenn claimed wouyld happen this October on Wall Street! LOLOL!! How about that? Glenn predicted that October would be tank time and instead they had the best month since 1974!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, how would God make a mistake like that?       we didn’t have an IRS or Income tax until 1913.
      they added a 1% income tax on the 1% in 1913. THAT is when class warfare started in America.
      End the Fed, end this stupidity. Get OUR currency back into OUR hands, the US Treasury… and stop stealing “the fruits of our labor” (income tax) 0% is the only “fair” income tax. if “taxing the rich” is justified then so is “enslaving the poor”. it’s the same thing… people that pay 0 income tax and collect checks from the government should work for free for the 50% who pay for their lives… it’s a fair trade… if we have to shelter, feed, clothe and protect them… well, they need to pay off their debts the old fashioned way… doing windows, mowing laws, picking up dog piles, etc.. we give to charities on top of all this… and there are many of them who give people hand ups, not hand outs… they choose to sit idle and collect checks while we slave away our income for them… that’s cool… and now they want to hang us… that’s cool… real cool…

      I thought he was good. I think all ADULTS and businessmen/women need to take some time and talk to people. HE is right…it’s the GOVERNMENT that has screwed everything up. I liked this guy…I liked his humanity and he wasn’t talking down to or hating these kids(mainly) he was telling them things they do NOT get in their COMMIE PLANT teacher‘s schools or their UNION SOAKED teacher’s schools. The Gov. did work with Wall Street and Wall Street went along… IF we’d had anyone with guts in any of these offices (CONGRESS HOUSE OR SENATE OR WH) this could have been averted…this “crash”…but we had GEORGE SOROS pulling the trigger on WS in OCT 2008 to cause this downturn so people would vote for his PUPPET, Obama…remember if you will, that dopey McCain was actually ahead of O’Bama.       Peter Schiff is spraying perfume on pigs, it won‘t make the pigs smell better and the pigs don’t like it. Why try to re-educate these people? They are convinced that corporations are evil and government is good. They don’t understand that in our current system banksters control corporations and governments. The hand that feeds is higher than the hand that takes.

      The banks control the flow and creation of money through debt, it’s the lifeblood of our current economic system. Currently they are allowing the government to pump up the National Debt (like Greece). The Federal Reserve is the largest single owner of government bonds. This debt based monetary system has to grow or it will die. Deflation and the resulting default crashes the system. In order to get away from debt and defaults, we need sound money. Which candidate is talking about a system of sound money? Ron Paul (Peter Schiff is one of his economic advisers).

      As long as corporations and governments are dependent on banksters for money, the banks will be in control (and I am not talking about campaign contributions). This “loan shark” relationship has to end, end the FED!

    Peter Schiff is an Austrian school free market econoists just as Ron Paul is. It’s the only free market school that is free market school that is free market on money, banking and interest rates.

    The Federal Reserve is not consistent with a free market anymore than unconstitutional fiat paper currency.

    Herman Cain doesn’t seem to understand any of this. Perhaps that’s why he was blind-sided by the crash. That’s why he advocated bailouts, stimulus, and FED money printing. That’s a socialist remedy to a problem that was the result of central planning by government and the Federal Reserve.

    None of the other big government mainline R’s saw the bubble either. They didn’t see the crash. Ron Paul was warning about it from as early as late 2001. He then warned about people taking pretend equity out of their houses and the eventual collapse of Freddie/Fannie and major financial institutions.

    Ron Paul was the only one who was opposed to the bailouts among the major candidates. He was opposed to the stimulus because he is economically literate.

    Big government statist Cain was complaining about all Ron Paul’s cuts the other day. And his tax plan actually increases revenues to govt. What kind of phony free market/small govt. guy wants D.C. to have even more taxes? That would be establishment drone Cain.

    Ron Paul doesn’t need Schiff as an economic advisor as Shciff, himself, once pointed out. He could just fire them all because he knows more than all of them any

      It’s interesting that Glenn Beck used to have Peter on his show until Peter accurately pointed out that Goldline, Glenn’s primary sponsor, was ripping of its customers. Instead of distancing himself from Goldline, Glenn distanced himself from Peter Schiff. To this day I can’t get this out of my head about Glenn and I have a lot less respect for him because of it.

      Peter Schiff is a brilliant man who should be respected and listened to. He’s also very courageous for having the balls to stand up for himself and the rest of us. Most of the 1% mail it in since they’ve already made their wealth. Peter Schiff has made his wealth but he wants to open the door for the rest of us to have that opportunity, too. What a great man.

      Ron Paul should run for the job of cleaning up the Fed, not for POTUS. He would be almost as disasterous as Obama as our President.
      Everyone wants to point out that RP has had over 30 years experience as a Politician and that experience is what we need. Bull! He’s just another politician and I am sick of politicians.       I’m sorry that RON PAUL is not younger, was not able to STOP BARNEY FRANK and CHRIS DODD in their wild ride in the HOUSE…. CAIN understands this just fine. He originally said, don’t let banks fail back during the crisis, but then he did not/does not approve of how the GOV handled any of this. HE is for a much smaller GOV and his plan echos what this man said: NO CORPORATE TAXES…. at least make them the lowest in the world. I’m solid CAIN SUPPORTER, HE can work with all sides and bring our country back… HE loves America and he has lived the AMERICAN DREAM. Dr. Paul has just sat in Congress and run for President every four years. That is NOT what we need. WE need CAIN and many more AMERICANS are going to figure that out!!       I don’t understand how voters could hold Washington experience against a candidate. The president will have to understand all the dirty tricks of Washington and it’s people. Ron Paul knows them well.

      As far as Dr. Paul and this being his 3rd time to run for president, Ronald Regan ran three times and he was elected on the 3rd.

      If you want another candidate for president, that’s fine. Post the attributes of your candidate, but it’s not necessary to bash another candidate (or try to anyway).

      Yea one of the kids even said he doesn’t know that is why he asked the question so he could understand the truth. Glenn Beck doesn’t agree with going down there and talking with these people. This is one thing i don’t agree with Beck on. If there is that one person that we can change his point of view or give the truth to then why not do it while it is not complete outrage. If you believe there is going to be killing on the streets and there isn’t yet why not get out there and speak to as many people as you can before it does happen.

      We can’t be afraid to leave the 99 sheep to get the one lost sheep. Are we going to change the idea of the whole movement no but we can reach as many as possible right? There is life in the truth and so will hear some won’t but at least you can say you tried. I pray for those that God has called to go and try to talk with them.

      Is there really bad people down there yes is there bad people in the churches yes. The bible says there is none good no not one. We are all fallen short of the glory of God. So why do we think that because we aren’t like them we are any better? Jesus didn’t come for the righteous but the unrighteous. Does a health person need a doctor? We don’t just go into hiding and say ok guys lower the boats forget about everyone else. Glenn Beck uses the titanic as an example well what happen they lowered the boats without filling them and then tried going back and many died that could have been saved. Lord give us YO

      Most of OWS does not know who Peter Schiff is and so he can walk in there without the preconceived evil that Beck carries as a result of his demonization by the progressive media. If Beck could be a fair shake from these people I think he might be willing to venture out, but as it is he is convicted simply by his name and image.       I was speaking in general not to go down there. Look i love what Glenn Beck is doing and the heart that he has for the people. I just don’t think we give up on the kids there. I know we are considered to be adults at 18yrs old but there is so much they don’t know other then what is in the text books. They haven’t lived in the real world so to speak. I know Glenn Beck has a heart for the youth because he started Liberty Tree House. I am a Plus member of his Internet Program. I am not asking Beck to go down there i already know how he and his family are treated rather it be in the park to watch that movie or date night with his daughter. But we need to share with them the truth of the Gospel not will Jesus occupy Wall St. But will the Word be preach while they are out there

      Hats off to Schiff; he’s a gutsy guy. Still, he is promoting Paul’s agenda. Paul said he’d end federal student loans, and that has probably alienated some of his young supporters. Schiff tries to justify Paul’s position by saying that schools will be forced to lower tuition fees to get more students, which in turn will make college education more affordable. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems to me that elite schools would compensate the loss by increasing tuition fees for the rich.

      Kryptonite, you’re wrong. Subsidies always alter (for the worse) economic behavior. The principle of “other people’s money” is what makes money valueless. Government subsidies have an alcoholic effect inducing people to behave in ways that make them dependent upon bad investment. Prices would fall precipitously without the government addiction.

      Read some economic books, starting with Henry Hazlett maybe. Then graduate on to Adam Smith and Friedrich Hayek.

      Sorry, my conclusion was wrong. I meant that elite schools would compensate for the loss by increasing tuition fees that only the rich could afford.

      I am assuming tuition would have to go down considerably to make college affordable for low- and middle-income students. Schiff did not explain how schools would make up for the loss they would incur. Furthermore, in a bad economy there are budget cuts at the state level, as well as thousands of unemployed people going back to school, both of which cause a spike in tuition costs. http://money.cnn.com/2011/06/13/news/economy/college_tuition_middle_class/index.htm

      IMO, Schiff gave a simplistic explanation, without factoring in the economy. Like so many of Ron Paul’s plans, ending federal student loans doesn’t appear to be feasible.

    I really like Schiff – he ran in the Rep. primary here in Ct.for senator, backed by the tea party, but the Rep. establishment handed it to a rino who lost. This state is a major disaster. Today was declared “diaper day” to encourage the feds to give out free diapers or some silliness. God help us all.

YES FDR DID cause the Great Depression because of his PARTY’s policies (and his policies reflect his true believe system). We have a very similiar situation today; but the whole OWS situation is exascerbated by the FACT that many of the OCCUPIERS ARE NOT EDUCATED!       Actually the Federal Reserve, working off a obsolete model designed for a much less robust economy than we had by 1933, caused the Depression. FDR’s New Deal policies made it a GREAT Depression, which was only ended by WWII.

      My dear Dr, it wasn’t the spending so much as it was the fact that all industry was working to full capacity and even women (men were fighting) had to work to fill the jobs available, that brought us out of the Great Depression.

      WWII wasn’t the first war that helped the U.S. economy. Wars like Japan/Russia and even the Louis Reil war in Canada helped the U.S. economy, because those entities bought munitions and other goods from the U.S. Notwithstanding the left’s ignoramus claim that the expenditures for the War on Terror caused this deep recession today, the fact remains, we would be in even a darker position if we weren’t in a war.

They have absolutely no idea how the real world works, so sad and pathetic. Maybe if we can educate them, since the college’s/universities obviously didn’t do their job, they will get a clue and a job.

      Hey there Joey do you know which country came to the rescue of the EU? Lo and behold China and what was their comment to the banks don’t mess with us for messing with our money. Because if you do we will cut you off, that my friend is why the markets took a huge leap otherwise the month of October may have been a very bad month for the world. Including the United States which in reality we are still not out of the woods just temporarily for now. As far as Goldline goes there are many more gold companies to invest in then just them listen you don’t like Goldline do your own research and find a company you do like that solves that, that my friend is the free market. I do get it seems to me that you have a problem with Glenn exposing all the radical agendas and the people involved in them that would be a conservative standpoint yes or no?     These kids are probably going to school or have graduated. The sad problem with this is that they are probably unemployable, because they don’t know anything that would make them valuable to an employer. They should sue the universities that took their money, and didn’t give them an education.

    Actually, they probably financed their educations, so we should sue the universities, because they took OUR money, and didn’t educate the students, which means we’ll never get our money back.
