Party Like It’s 1937: Obama Administration Suggests Parties as a Way to Hook Seniors on Food Stamps

Back when Newt Gingrich was still running for President, he caught a lot of fire for referring to President Obama as the “food stamp President.” “The President can’t put people on food stamps,” the counter-argument ran, “more people just need them!”
This line of attack has now been exposed as being rather disingenuous. At the point when this administration puts out guides on how to encourage people to apply for food stamps, one feels safe in suggesting that perhaps they have started making the jump from simply helping people who need assistance to aggressively trying to get more people on food stamps. And in fact, that’s exactly what they do. A guide released jointly by the USDA and Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), which is the program that distributes food stamps, shows as much. In fact, the document even suggests using bingo parties as a means to get seniors hooked. Screencaps follow if you don’t believe us.

After a pamphlet like that, perhaps calling President Obama the “Food stamp President” might seem a tad less unreasonable.

If they can’t get jobs, the first thing they drop are co-pays for their meds, fewer office visits…why? So they can afford to eat. The gov’t is manipulating the system on purpose. Been doing so for many years under many presidents. BLS.GOV is the go to source for just about everything for so called factual social economical data analysis. They have changed the way they calculate Cola more than 17 times…AND they have never calculated the COLA in accordance with the LAW!!!
This is part of the push down…and it is working…the commies are sucking everyone into government subsistence.
Times are tougher than most know.

I have been blessed by God, He helps me not the blasted government. I will not be signing up for food stamps.

That’s a pretty common practice for years to ensure they are still getting their nutritional needs met. Doesn‘t anyone remember the commercials years ago of the lady buying cat food because it was cheaper than people food and how it wasn’t a stigma for seniors to apply for assistance.
I would like to see the entire pamphlet and packet that it is included in and know how to receive one. I‘m guessing it’s something that has to be requested and they aren’t just blind mailing them to senior centers. There are more important things going on than this. It’s an attention grabbing headline intended to stir the pot, which it has done successfully.

Yep, I remember the cat food ads put out by Democrats to scare old people saying the Reps. would take away their food. Same stuff today with throwing grandma off the cliff in her wheelchair. We want people to be independent and not dependent. Do you wish to see unbridled growth of government programs? Well, this is fostering it and yes, it is news.

Once the mindset is that people must have something, if you try to reduce dependence on government assistance, you are accused of taking away access. (case in point, contraceptives).

I will NEVER take Government assistance even if i an starving in the streets. I refuse to ROB any man to make him pay for my meals. Screw the Government and the way they steal money through the IRS!!!!!
Obama is going down today. I hope it opens a door to make welfare, food stamps, medicare and every other Government giveaway UNCONSTITUTIONAL. And if we take it all away what happens? REAL charity will take over and the poor wont own big screens, computers and cars. They also wont be able to do drugs because they wont have the money for it!
