I posted on the Florida Imans interview this Iman in Florida has done in one interview more to ease Muslim relations in the US than the NY Iman has done in the year this has been going on.If this is successful , I applaud these two religious men , they have accomplished more than all the politicians together have accomplished in a year, resolving this issue. Having said that , the Mosque deal was starting to fall apart in New York , investors were getting to much publicity , so I think many things were at work here . Hopefully now this is officially over . I will try to remain positive , with reservations..

I do not trust the muslims. There is more to this story.

In the late 70′s, I was in college, guess who was Hijacking planes, taking hostages, attacking the Olympic games, blowing up anything and everything…yep it was the peaceful muslims…
Get a copy of an old magazine or newspaper….Those peaceful muslims were being misunderstood 40 years ago.

    Some things time doesn’t change.

I dont agree with burning any book. Now.. When any of the over seas contingencies burn our flag or bible or president in effigy where are the muslim countries speaking out against them offending U.S. citizens?

Appeasing them wont make them like us any more or less. Stop the Mosque. It’s the right thing to do.

As I Florida Christian who ascribes to be “fair and balanced,” I would like to invite any Muslims to come over to my house and burn any of my Holy Bibles (although I have some versions I would recommend need to be burned NIV, NSV, etc. You are invited to share some Luzianne sweet tea while burning the Bible over Kingsford Charcoal (only the best for a sacred book burning) and I promise when the burning is done, your life will be in no more danger than it was when you arrived nor will your country of origin be slandered. My big “G” God can handle any reprisals such as flooding the earth, swallowing 70,000 Israelites for David’s sin, striking you dead, and the like.

Christians want you to live so that you may repent and come to a relationship with Jesus Christ. It would appear the small (as the media alleges) number of fanatical Muslims in the epicenter of Afghanistan want to kill you all as infidels. Interesting contrast, particularly when 100 Bibles were burned in Afghanistan last year.

I’d say at this point……good. If it avoids the event on Saturday its a great thing. But, I somehow suspect that the FBI played a larger part in charging the church a fee for “protection” or otherwise “security” during the event. There’s more to it.

The mosque location and the burning of the Koran should not be tied together. If the deal is made, then the Muslims will still have the freedom of speech to burn the bible (as is reported as happening in Afghanistan last year) but we will still not have the freedom of speech to burn the Koran. When will the world stand up to the Muslims and tell them to “Behave” – or go to their room! (which I suppose would be one of their religiously intolerant Muslim countries)

Burning the Quran marking the ninth anniversary of 9/11 is making a statement. Canceling the event based on an agreement with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf not to build the mosque at Ground Zero validates the statement. However, traveling to New York to meet with him is an act to bring Rev Terry Jones down to Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf level. I suggest stay at home in Florida and stand your ground. There are plenty of other highly qualified persons to meet with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to keep him at his word.

I wanted the guy to burn them! I really did. I would really like however, to burn the Iran flag, the Hamas flag and any other terrorist extremist flag we could find. Surely I am not the only one that remembers on 9/11 the tv showing muslims around the world laughing and cheering and burning our flag on that terrible evil day. They hate us. No matter what we say or do you can not reason with unreasonable people. And these “people” are just carbon life forms that are evil and hate us for being Christians and Americans. I was glad to see this guy take a stand and burn the books. No one has a back bone in this country anymore and I am sick and tired of everyone cowaring to these evil killers that hate us. I guess liberals think they could stop a suicide bomber from killing them if they said yeah I hate America too. Surprise they would be killed anyway. When are we going to wake up and stand for America and stand for our beliefs in God Almighty?!

Others had already proved the guy’s points:

When military commanders, politicians and religious leaders from around the world rush to microphones to condemn an obscure little preacher in Florida, because they fear that his non-violent act will unleash a worldwide frenzy of Muslim rage—They have proved the preacher’s point, that Islam is a violent, anti-Christ religion, and that it is the teaching of the Koran that incites the violence.

When the FBI dispatches agents to investigate hundreds of death threats against this obscure preacher—They are proving the preacher’s point about the intimidating effects of Islam that have already taken hold in America. (I’ve read where the preacher lived for 30 years in Europe to witness the incremental domination of radical Islam in that Continent.)

When the most stalwart conservative voices in America line up to distance themselves from this obscure preacher; lest they be labeled as Islamophobic—They further prove the preacher’s point about the intimidating effect that Islam already wields over American culture.

When Muslims in foreign lands burn effigies of this obscure preacher, along with American flags and Bibles; and the so-called moderate Muslims in America imply their approval—They prove the preacher’s point, that Muslims in America are not so concerned with integrating into American culture, as they are concerned with subjugating America to Sharia law.

When CNN’s Anderson Cooper, interviews the obscure preacher from Florida, attempting to paint him as an ignorant monster; and in the very next segment, Cooper portrays the Imam behind the Mosque of Conquest at “Ground Zero” as a kind and tolerant patriot who is only trying to capture the spirit of our Constitution—He proves the preacher’s point that there is an element in our country that hates the Judeo-Christian foundations of America, and thus they align themselves with a radically inclined Islam, which also despises the Judeo-Christian roots of America. And they make strange bedfellows indeed.

It would appear that the obscure preacher from Florida has no more points that need to be made on September 11—The truth he is trying to get at has already been confirmed by those who have mocked and cursed him over the last two weeks.

They make me sick and I am so glad that I have truth on myside in Jesus Christ Our Lord. I was so proud of this preacher for doing this and now he has caved to pressure. Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by the Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so ever since? Even General BeTrayus, Hillery, and the President agree these Muslimes are ready to continue attacking us if we do not bow down to them.

Were Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from the nation’s capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they?
And I’m supposed to care that Muslims, Taliban or Al-Qaida terrorist are claiming to be offended by the burning of their book of hatred.

I’ll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns him self in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I’ll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan
I‘ll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg’s head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I’ll care when the cowardly so-called ‘insurgents’ in Iraq and Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.
I’ll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I’ll care when the American media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about an American soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don’t care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:
      I don’t care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and ‘fed special’ food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being ‘mishandled,’ you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:
      I don’t care.

And oh, by the way, I‘ve noticed that sometimes it’s spelled ‘Koran’ and other times ‘Quran.’ Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it, I don’t care!!

Very,Very well said. You hit it right on and if we look at the headlines on every media outlet this story is being driven hard. Was the FBI down there to check out the threats or were they doing the Threating?? I have been saying from day one this Mosque story NOT about PEACE and TOLERANCE but about stoking the flames of RADICAL ISLAM with soundbites of angry Americans. I do believe we have a right to be ANGRY. The images of Sept.11,2001 are still vivid. Also we will always remember “The Peacekeepers” 241 Marines that were KIA on Oct.23,1983 while they slept by an Iran backed Hezbollah JIHADIST!! and the many, many more attacks on Americans by JIHADISTS. The common theme in all of these stories is the Koran which makes JIHADISTS and if anyone says, makes a cartoon, denounces ect. against ISLAM they are threatened with be-heading becuase that is the SHARIA LAW way!!!
