Pat Robertson Claims God ‘Showed’ Him Who the Next President Will be

Christian leader Pat Robertson is claiming that God gave him insight regarding who America’s next president will be. But the conservative media mogul isn’t willing to name names.

“I think He showed me about the next president, but I‘m not supposed to talk about that so I’ll leave you in the dark — probably just as well — but I think I know who it’s gonna be,” Robertson said on Tuesday‘s episode of the Christian Broadcast Network’s “700 Club.”

Aside from making this proclamation, he went on to read the message, word-for-word, that he claims to have heard directly from God. Here it is, in full:

Your country will be torn apart by internal stress. A house divided cannot stand. Your president holds a radical view of the direction of your country which is at odds with the majority. Expect chaos and paralysis. Your president holds a view which is at the odds with the majority — it’s a radical view of the future of this country, and so that‘s why we’re having this division. This is a spiritual battle which can only be won by overwhelming prayer. The future of the world is at stake because if America falls, there’s no longer a strong champion of freedom and a champion of the oppressed of the world. There must be an urgent call to prayer.

If true, this would mean that God sees Obama’s views as so radical and out of touch with the American public that they will very literally damage the very fabric of America. It’s a pretty bold statement to be uttering, especially considering that it’s being attributed to God.

Watch Robertson make these statements, among others, below:

No disrespect to Mr Robertson or anyone else, but if you study the Bible, you can draw all of the same conclusions from scripture. It should be obvious that we’re headed down the wrong road. It‘s just too bad that we don’t realize that our “pew warming” is just another form of lip service to God.

    Here‘s America’s biggest problem:

    Isaiah 29:13
    New Living Translation (NLT)
And so the Lord says, “These people say they are Mine. They honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. And their worship of Me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.

The future of the world is at stake because if America falls, there’s no longer a strong champion of freedom and a champion of the oppressed of the world. There must be an urgent call to prayer.”

So God is saying that if enough people pray to Him, he‘ll intercede to make sure President Obama doesn’t get a second term. But if he doesn’t get enough prayers, God is going to sit idle and let Obama win the election my a majority vote of US citizens?

Even though Obama is “at odds with the majority,” he’s going to get re-elected if God doesn’t get enough anti-Obama prayers?

Somebody help me with logic here.

What else could it mean when he says,” but I‘m not supposed to talk about that so I’ll leave you in the dark-probably just as well”?

Could this be publicity… who cares. Who cares if he ‘knows.‘ Unless he is willing to say who it is we don’t care and there is distrust because we can’t test his honesty or connection.

What we know is get ready. This is going to be a long drawn out campaign because even if Romney wins, Gingrich is on such a vendeta, he doesn’t care if he loses if he can destroy Romney, giving Obama the election. He has almost already said just as much: ( http://url2it.com/lcfl ) Look at all of his attacks.

And very, very sadly… America is in for some really bad times. bho absolutely knows he would not win the 2012 election through our traditional vote process, so you all need to keenly watch him. Watch for the false sense that he’s campaigning. There will be a noticeable lack of effort, regardless of how many fund raisers he holds or meaningless town halls he shows up for. It’s a smoke screen. His little stunt today using the EO privilege and putting that buddy of his in place, is a loud and clear message telling every single American what he thinks of you and your precious vote.

And to Pat Roberts, The Bible already tells us what is too come, stop playing games. If you beleive that GOD gave you the vision, but did not want you to speak ofit, then why did you? Your cryptic message is disgusting and manipulative.

Visitor…I think you have the right idea but the wrong verse. I think the biggest problem we face in America is reflected in Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” NASB. Everywhere you look in America what was once considered evil and shameful is celebrated as good and those who would stand up for what is right and good (Tim Tebow for example) are mocked and insulted. We live in a country that is standing on it’s head and proclaiming that the rest of us are upside down. It’s insane.

      Hi Trurl,
Yes, that one applies, too. (The way I see it anyway). I think they mean basically the same thing. The verse I posted basically says to me that we pretend to be righteous and we pretend to be good, all “in the name of God” but in reality, for the most part, we are a nation of compromise. We do what is wrong and call it right.
Someone else posted 2 Chronicles 7:14. We can apply that verse as well. Yes, God was speaking to the Israelites in that verse but Christians have been “grafted in” (Romans 11:17) thru Christ, so I believe we can apply that verse to our lives as well.

@ JZS – I can’t tell you what Pat Robertson meant but I can tell you that the Bible clearly illustrates example after example of God removing blessings from individuals and nations and turning them over to their enemies because of disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:15; Ephesians 5:6; 1 Samuel 15, etc). America gets no hall pass on this. We’re subject to the same reproof and correction from God as Israel or any other nation who disobeys. And it doesn’t necessarily have to be “correction or outright punishment”. It can merely be that God simply takes His hand off of us and we fall as a result of our own corruption. Because everything we have been blessed with has come from God. Our freedoms, our opportunity, everything.

So, it’s not that we should pray “against Obama” or anyone else. It’s that we should ensure that our hearts are right before God through trust in Jesus Christ, which will transform our hearts and set us in right standing with God.
This doesn’t mean we should “play church” or “warm pews”. We need to seek God to help us repent as a people. Deuteronomy 4:29 says we will find God when we “seek Him with all of our heart and all of our soul”…and that’s a little more involved than just an hour on Sunday morning.

When God showed him who would be President, what were they wearing? Because if it was a cute brunette in jeans that would be Sarah – Not Michele. If it was a man then whoever had the nicest tie would be a giveaway.

If the new President appeared to him naked, it would be really hard to tell the difference between except for Ron Paul and Newt. Newt would stand out like the Pillsbury dough boy.

But if he doesn’t get enough prayers, God is going to sit idle and let Obama win the election my a majority vote of US citizens?” Thinking you are so smart, surely your logic will show those poor fools who believe in God how wrong they are. But your own words show how ignorant you are. There are many examples in the Bible of God requiring a show of faith and effort on the part of those who believe in Him and ask Him for aid. One notable example would be the children of Israel who needed manna from heaven to survive in the harsh desert. If they were obedient the manna would fall from the sky and they could gather it and have enough to eat. However if they were disobedient, quarelled with each other or tried to hoard the manna, it would not fall.

I support Mr Robertson in his statement that prayer is needed to save this country. God is all powerful, but he does require those who believe in him to demonstrate their obedience.

It isn’t about anti-Obama prayers, it IS about we as a nation turning our hearts to God and actually living our faith. When we do our part of living what we believe and spending time with God (after all prayer is simply conversation with our friend Jesus) we will gain wisdom and strength. I, myself, had to reach back into my archives from many teachings in Sunday school class. One commenter said they didn‘t understand and thought if God doesn’t get enough prayers he won’t intercede. What God is looking for is willing hearts, He won’t impose Himself on anyone, we must embrace, love and trust Him. This is true for those of us who have accepted Christ as Saviour and the same is true in all matters when interacting with God. Pat is conveying that God wants us to trust Him in this and wants our involvement by praying and being in agreement with His will. I like the scripture reference someone posted that calls us to humble ourselves and pray and He will heal our land. As believers, should we be at odds over this, especially if it calls us to pray for our country, our families, our future? Even it you think it’s weird what Mr. Robertson said, is it so bad that it calls us to unite in prayer?

The republican establishment ignored the message of the 2008 election which said loud & clear : there are too many true patriots who will not vote the “lesser of 2 evils” or “dem-lite” any longer; yet they continue to serve up big-government candidates. This is why we are in trouble. Because the servant has become greater than his master. Example: Our very own government designed to be our servant is now our master. We as parents have submitted to our children. The queen is now king of the castle. Basically everything is twisted. Contrary to natural law. The pain we will now experience will be from nature correcting itself.

Pew warming is a symptom of too many of us. Christ gave us the way to communicate with God the Father and it was by conforming our behavior to His principles. People can attend church and even pray but still be caught up in the ways of the world and thus break the connection to the Holy Spirit. But for those people who have experienced that confirmation or connection with God through the Holy Spirit, life is different. Understanding of who we are and how we fit in the owrld is different. Even understanding Holy Scripture is different.

Yes God cares about everything. The bible says that he has even numbered the very hairs on your head. There is also in scripture the story of a woman who touched his cloak in a very large crowd and the Lord was concerned enough to know who she was among all those people. Every detail and matter is important to God.

I think Pat has said some nutty things, that is why knowing God (personally) will help those weed through truth and lies. BTW, what he is saying is true as we see it happening before our eyes.

Remember, all the Prophets of old were mocked, called crazy and either killed or chased out of town. Listen and pray…God does speak to his people if you’re willing to listen.

      Cessna152 and On Eagles wings:
You are exactly right. We are told to pray without ceasing. Some like to mock those who pray and seek God. I find it comforting to pray. When you get a very distinct answer it’s the Holy Spirit, who Jesus said would be within us. (and these 3 are one). Never mock anything that God has provided, He does speak to us. Pray for America and it’s people to continue living in Freedom.

1John 4:11 Believe not every spirit, but TRY the Spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Yes, God does speak to us in many ways.

The difference is, Camping was making a specific prediction about the end of time, and the Bible tells us on a number of occasions that WE will not know the time and day of His coming. So, anything John Camping predicted about the end of the world was not for him to decide. God only, knows the time.

Two times he says we need to pray. The Bible says: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

No wonder no ones listens to Christians anymore. Maybe the church in America should quit looking at the finger they are pointing and start notincing the 3 pointed back at them. I’ve got relatives involved in the Assemblies of God and they are always spouting crazy crap like painting during the sermons and they are all abstract lines. Then they say it’s Gods hand reaching down to us. The youth pastor also told thier young daughter that she was a prophetess. Crackpots. Now for an answer to all this negativety. It‘s not The Bible or Christ’s fault but the behavior of the the church. if you want this country saved get back to holy Christian living. Like the Puritans lived. Take the Bible as absolute authority (Ken Ham covers that on answersingenesis.org). And start doing what It says.

To answer this, not all churches are good or bad. 1John 4:1 Beloved, believe NOT every Spirit, but try the Spirits whether they are of GOD: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

So, Pray about what comes from God or someone’s imagination. I have an interesting story about this and it works, but it takes too long to tell, but I know if you believe and pray, you’ll get the answer.
I say this from personal experience. God is the Answer, not man.

Well if it was Michelle Bachmann he just lost.

I wish faith leaders would not say things like this. It is one thing to say it too your congregation that isn’t televised, it is another to broadcast it through TV. I have no doubt Pat Roberson talks to God often and sometimes he may get an answer, I just think this kind of talk turns most everyday Christian people off, not to mention non-Christians. Did you see my eyes roll as I read his statement?

There is such a thing as “too religious” in my vocabulary, where you get tunnel vision and you actually lose the true meaning of scripture or you lose it’s context. This is where Islam goes wrong.

This is why I do not follow Pat Roberson, Joel Osteen, or other tel-evangelist.

There was nothing humble about Michelle Bachmann. She is a class A narcissist. Count the number of thimes she used the word “I” this, “I” that, during the debate. The most humble Christian on the GOP stage is Dr. Ron Paul. He walks the walk rather than merely talking the talk.

I doubt that “too religious” was the intended concept. From context, I‘d say she laments people losing perspective because they’re too involved with their own perceptions about scripture, and lose the ability to discern any other meaning than the one they want to impose on the scripture, and then onto everyone else.

Rabbi Cahn saw GOD’S JUDGMENT on 9-11 in Isa 9:10, just like on OT Israel. When God’s people who know His laws turn away from Him, He allows the enemy to come in, and His hand of protection is withdrawn. It has gotten worse (floods, tornadoes).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXei0Zb3dxM&feature=related (full version, no Pat Robertson)

We have done the same & worse, and need to, as a nation cry out to him in REPENTANCE, (stop the sin), or be destroyed. We stood by while they took prayer out of our schools, removed the 10 Commandments, morals out of our homes, TVs & universities (thus our children), allowed gay marriage & abortion, & bestiality in the military! Many churches are now entertainment centers, spewing pop psychology, feel-good self-help. God has a RIGHT TO BE ANGRY! REPENT, CRY OUT now! The next verse states: Isa 9:11 “therefore the LORD will set up the adversaries against him, and join his enemies together!

Like Chuck Missler says, if God doesn’t judge America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!

As much as I think the revelations that Mr. Robertson are pretty much on point, I think when he makes the statement that God “showed” him the next president, an atheist would look at that at think, “what a nutter.” I‘m not one to doubt what God did or didn’t show to someone, but I think it would be for the better if people would keep quiet about something of such a magnitude unless they were willing to stake their life on it. (He said, “I think he showed me” in the article. Keyword: think.) Otherwise it tends to make people of faith out to be loons. : /

What?????? I thought Mainstream Christians don’t believe that God has anymore prophets today. At least that is why they criticize the Mormon Church.

Anyways, I don’t believe that he did receive any revelation about this. Think about it, what reason would God have to tell this guy who the next president will be? That possible reason? If he claimed that he received revelation saying Obama is ruining our country, and we need to return to prayer I would more likely then not believe him, because that is a call to action. I very much believe in modern day revelation. But I also believe that God only shows people what is absolutely important.to that specific person. Knowing who the next president is, is not important to Pat Robertson.

Actually, I take that all back. He knows who the next president is. But won’t say it because he is part of the Media Blackout against Ron Paul :D

If GOD showed you who it was gonna be you would not say “ I THINK I know who its gonna be”. That in itself shows you harbor doubt in what you are trying to get us to believe!! It makes now sense for God to give Pat R. the insight for what purpose does it gain…. God is not in the biz of wasting His Glory or miracles on someone who wants to extort with a level of human doubt. Now, he will say, no matter who gets it, that God told him, and he knew all along. Let me remind Pat, Satan, is the King of the air here, and is very keen at giving people here things they wish to see and know. Be careful in wanting to know the future, and getting attention for it.. Most of the time, its the other end who is exploiting you. I believe we are living in the end times, and that the prince of darkness knows who he can use to get this world order inplimented. Watch Roger Morneau’s trip thru satanism video if you want to see the plans and insights of how Lucifer is planning to do this. Roger is now a Jesus believer and follower… Course he has since went on to heaven, but his story is very helpful for us to be aware of the stradegy of God’s enemies.

      Doubtful. Is this Pat’s secret?

Georgia judge denies president’s motion to dismiss eligibility challenge. Obama must meet constitutional qualifications to be on 2012 ballot!

Even assuming Obama was born in HI despite allegations by numerous experts that his birth certificate and social security number are fraudulent, his Kenyan father precludes Obama’s eligibility as a natural born citizen in violation of Article 2, Section 1.

This is confirmed by a logical reading of the Constitution; the 3rd Congress, “An act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization; and to repeal the act heretofore passed on that subject,” 1/29/1795; 14th Amendment framer Rep. John Bingham; Supreme Court rulings; Senate Res. 511, 4/3/08; expert opinion of constitutional scholar and 30 year professor of constitutional law, Harvard graduate Dr. Herbert W. Titus; field grade military officers such as Major General Paul Vallely, U.S. Army, Ret., Col. Lawrence Sellin Ph.D., U.S. Army, Ret., former U.S. Army Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, MD.; Dr. Alan Keyes, US Ambassador, Ret.; and a host of concerned attorney’s such as Leo Donofrio, JD., Esq., Mario Apuzzo, JD., Esq., Dr. Orly Taitz, DDS., JD., Esq., and Van R Irion, JD., Founder Liberty Legal Foundation.

Glenn Beck needs to wake up! Since he thinks ignoring the Constitution is so damn funny, I decided canceling my subscription was funny too! How about you?
