Paul Ryan: ‘College Graduates Should Not Have to Live Out Their 20s in Their Childhood Bedrooms, Staring Up at Fading Obama Posters’

One of the best lines from vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan’s his speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday was directed at college graduates, who are still having a hard time finding work in this economy. The youth unemployment rate of Americans ages 16-24 actively looking for jobs was 17.1 percent in July 2012, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life. Everyone who feels stuck in the Obama economy is right to focus on the here and now. And I hope you understand this too, if you’re feeling left out or passed by: You have not failed, your leaders have failed you,” Ryan said, the crowd erupting in applause.

“None of us have to settle for the best this administration offers – a dull, adventureless journey from one entitlement to the next, a government-planned life, a country where everything is free but us,” he added, prompting a lengthy standing ovation.

Someone should tell him that likewise we can focus on mitt time as Gov., bushes (republicans time in power), in which they make all the same moves and policies as obama (or more correctly stated What they dislike in obama, obama just copied from them). That is unarguable. Obama copies Romney’s healthcare (reps now hate it), Obama continues bush’s wars (reps hate it), obama increases gov spending (just as bush did, and reps hate it).
Get a life, i am not cognitively challenged enough to buy your hogwash. Speak wonderfully go ahead so does obama, but none of you care to do what is good for thew US.

Agree’d… but Romney is fundementally different than Bush. And vastly different than Obama and Clinton. I blame Clinton, Bush, and Obama. The question is what is the best route moving forward? And it sure as heck isn’t the route we are currently on.

Nice to see a fellow GenXer finally in charge of something!! You go Paul Ryan. We’ve been squeezed by the Boomers and the useless video gaming facebooking loser generation for far too long. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Boomers, they taught us everything about how America once was and should be, but they‘re heading into retirement and it’s our turn now. Great zingers Ryan, but the truth made em’ sting even more!! I can only hope Biden shows up to the correct city and venue for the debate with Ryan. It’s going to be be an epic and memorable event in Vice-Presidential history.

That would make a FABULOUS campaign ad!! We all know guys need visuals. Have some humor in it too. Fight the liberals with HUMOR and with TRUTH ..

As I revealed in a post last night regarding the Form Letter to Navy Seal families. I think BO is an android personality void of heart. BUT I must admit when I heard him sing Al Green.. for a brief moment I thought.. gee maybe he is human. That feeling soon passed.

I think an ad based on this BRILLIANT one liner could have boundless effects on liberals, independents and undecided voters. Get off the negative and on to something humorous most people can relate to.

Individualism: I don’t know who you are but your second sentence says it all “..btw Obama is offering loan forgiveness if your wondering….”

    And it’s “you’re”, not “your”…

I can see why they call you individualism because you are working off of 1 individual brain cell.

OF COURSE HE IS OFFERING LOAN FORGIVENESS BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT THERE WON’T BE ANY JOBS TO PAY OFF THEIR STUDENT LOANS WHEN THEY GRADUATE!!!!!!
(I did that on purpose so you know I am shouting at you)

It’s worse than just that. I knew about 6 or 8 kids sharing a home (which is illegal here) to make the rent since only one could find full time work. I don’t know how many live there exactly because they and their girlfriends are doorknobs (everyone gets a turn) and I don’t know which ones live with them.
…And worse still, my younger brothers are in their forties and lost their jobs, both got divorced after about fifteen years of marriage, both of my nieces are with my ex-sis-in-laws, my nephew is with me, and my brothers are sharing my parents’ extra house. Not only are people not getting married and staying with their parents longer because of this economy, but families are breaking apart and losing everything. So much for the “everyone deserves a home” mantra that the Democrats were chanting. They had the exact opposite effect. Stop messing with the free market, Progressives! You make life worse and worse for the working class and poor. When Reagan was President, it was easy to find work.

Thats funny! Here in my small NC town, no one has one but a girl with a Miata. It was so cool seeing her drive up on a curb and strattle a curb one day. No one would help her get it off. You wanted hope and change, you got it.

Oh yeah! I see them all the time here in San Antonio, where everyone is moving because they are looking for JOBS. Hypocrites. Every Obama voter trashed the nation when they were too weak and stupid to vote for a man who was obviously a fraud. With any luck those bumper stickers will fade with the brutal South Texas sun and the heat will melt what little glue remains until it falls off.

I do too. But I don‘t think it’s necessarily Obama’s fault. At least not 100% . I think it’s a generation of the Playstation lazy. By 19 I was married with a mortgage and car payments and we were paying our own way. This generation is more worried at 24 of how they are doing at some game system.

      @ TedDrunk

28, not married yet (haven’t found the right lady yet), but I do own my own home. I’m renting it out to a relative right now, whose house is about derelict (foundation failure, mold) due to said house being nearly 100 years old. I live in an add-on apartment on the back of my mom’s place to help out around the homestead. I am a PC / PS3 / Xbox gamer myself, but I have no lack of initiative in finding or maintaining a job. I’ve also considered starting my own businesses (I have several options in my specialties), but I have a solid employer right now that pays good dollar for good service, so I’m not in a rush to run off on my own at the moment.

I’ll say I have been pretty lucky on this note. All things considered, there are a lot in my generation that are just as lazy as you mention, but not all. Not all. Don’t discount the entire young generation, just as those few of us with a sense of honor don’t discount the older generations.

When I was in my 22 out of college a wife second kid on the way . mortgage payment, car payment, I was running my own business . Whats wrong with the younger generation ? . My son is 28 and one of the laziest human beings I have ever seen . he told me because it tough I should support him as long as it takes ?. why he sit in his room and plays his play station and xbox 360 and then wants to go out at night and drink and hang with friends.

I have to admit…. this line would have been great for one of the GOP candidates to have used during the primaries regarding Ron Paul supporters.

INDY probably hasn’t made it to the college level yet… I‘m sure he’s probably a sophomore at Libertarian summer camp. He’s obviously on his way to passing “Anarchist 101” but still as to get past the “care and maintenance” portion of the Guido Fawkes mask part of the Anarchist 101 ciriculum…
