Head Stomping Paul Supporter Apologizes for Scuffle With Liberal Activist

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A Rand Paul supporter is apologizing after he was seen on video stepping on a liberal activist’s head.

Tim Profitt, a volunteer with the Republican’s U.S. Senate campaign, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the camera angle made the scuffle Monday night appear worse that it was. He criticized police for not stepping in and says other supporters warned authorities about the activist.

Lauren Valle, a 23-year-old with the group MoveOn.org, was wrestled to the ground by Paul supporters when she tried to confront the tea party favorite with a fake award. Valle said Tuesday she was sore and swollen.

The Paul campaign cut ties with Profitt, removing him from his role as Bourbon County campaign coordinator and banning him from campaign events.

First, she should have acted in a normal, intelligent, COURTEOUS manner. But she/it is a progressive and normality is not their strong suit.

Second, it was a staged attack on M.r Paul and designed specifically for the TV cameras in the hands of her/its accomplices.

Third, the locals need to start replacing their ‘police department’ with Officers that UNDERSTAND LAW ENFORCEMENT.

It IS their job to ensure the safety of all persons when a suspicious person acts in a manner that would indicate a possible CRIMINAL action.

First, I agree that there was no reason or excuse for any action once this person was under control, much less on the ground. That’s a clear violation of the man code, son. John Wayne would not do that.

That said, what this guy did wasn’t particularly rough. It looked more like an expression of disgust. What I saw was that he put his foot on her shoulder, not her head, and push down. No kick, no stomp.

Look at the tape of Oswald being killed by Ruby. A person rushing a political candidate or any person is not a very good plan no matter what your intent. From the short video the person appears to be what is known as an “unknown”. I would not risk a candidates life or my life by waiting for the unknown to become known. At this time she is probably not filing charges because she was in the process of duing what no normal person would do. The foot on someones back is a technique used to hold someone to the ground, hard for them to get up and continue an attack. Not even close to the SEIU in Mossouri.

That was no woman, that was a MoveOn moron. NO, she didn’t deserve to be stomped, and no, that’s not the way WE do things at our rallies. But this is going to get worse, as these idiots try to infiltrate and start something at more and more of these events. This activist knew what she was doing, knew what might happen, and deliberately tried her stunt. I’m just glad that she never got to Rand.

Shepherd Smith, are you going to join in the rush to lynch this man without the facts. Seriously? Do you remember what happened to Bobby Kennedy while he was campaigning? If someone in a crowd rushes your candidate, and you have a split second to decide if this person is a threat, what would you do?

There was a large Teamsters presence at this debate, and they weren’t contributing to calm. There were sixty or seventy of them beating drums and shouting with megaphones. Brietbart would have had a great time with them. I did not have a camera with me, and that is the last time I’m getting caught flatfooted. I will carry a camera to every rally and to my polling place and document what I see. I’d heard several people in the crowd complaining about a woman following them back and forth to their cars, and I’d just about lay money that this was the woman.

Now, put yourself in the place of this man. You are in a crowd to support your candidate, and a woman charges you on the way to your candidate. You have a split second, in that environment, to stop her. You may not even be aware that its a woman and not a man. What do you do? Yes, he may have over reacted a bit, but there was no second blow. He caught himself. It isn’t like he beat the living daylights out of her. In a very intense situation, he put a toe over the line. What the heck would you have done differently?

This woman is all over the internet. She’s been getting herself arrested all over the world. This was designed to make us look like a bunch of violent, thoughtless rednecks. That is how the elitist left thinks of us, and that is what they set out to get on camera. How about reporting the whole story?

I have lost all interest in Sheppard Smith because of his inflamatory remarks concerning the stories he reports. His emotional rants and wild allegations during the gulf oil spill was the last straw for me as far as Shep Dip is concerned.

I couldn’t believe he kept “short looping” the point of the video where the man “STEPPED” on the woman. Making it look like he was kicking the crap out of her. Ranting all the while…………..Good observation on your part!!

    Typical.

Rand thows the guy under the bus punitively, while Profitt was trying be a stand up guy about the incident.

I‘d speculate that Rand’s response to his this man will lose him more votes in Bourbon Co. than to have taken the time to probe all the facts and make a truly sound judgement.

I’ve watched the video over and over, and best I can tell Valles was violently pushing her way through to crowd to get to Paul. Hence, the cry for police. The supporters acted as they should have, both the fellas who subdued a percieved threat, and those who stepped in to moderate and see that no real harm was done.

Congratulations Rand, you just cleared the path for a Progressive Sirhan Sirhan to take a crack at you. If the police didn’t act in your behalf at Lexington, will they anywhere else?

Conservatives and Libertarians – grow a real backbone, or we’ll lose this country. Self defense has not become a crime in this nation, yet. Keep blabbering and giving up your right to defend yourself, and you’ll find yourself absolutely defenseless.

I just can’t imagine that he was trying to do any real harm, just stop her from where she was headed. Here’s another example of how LIBERAL women work…I was at a rally last night in NH and the Democratic candidate BUSSED in union members from neighboring MA. One of their female attendees at the rally was walking back and forth among the Republican crowd, shoving and pushing then shouting at them with a bullhorn in their faces. Then she jabbed her sign into the back of one of our guys and when he turned with his arm raised in reaction to the JAB, she started shouting, “Don’t you touch me“ and ”Keep your hands off me!” Of course THAT part was being taped. He was trying to defend himself saying she touched him first. Well, much to their surprise, one of OUR cameras was filming as well and caught the ENTIRE episode. We held up or camera and let them know we had them on film intimidating us and they left. HAHAHA EPIC FAIL! It’s just what they do, so watch your back if you attend any rally and KEEP the cameras rolling. It’s your best defense.

He DIDN’T STEP ON HER HEAD. Watch the video. Watch her. She is obviously enjoying herself. Getting taken down was the point and purpose of her stunt. Conway can‘t run on issues and plainly doesn’t want to. He wants to throw dirt at Paul, and hope it sticks long enough for people to forget that he is a tax and spend hack who has no business representing Kentucky in Congress.

What she did is run at Paul with a sign the moment he got out of the car, scaring the people around him. Profitt himself, who pushed down on her shoulder, said that three of his friends had warned the police in the area before Paul even got there that she was acting suspiciously and obviously up to something. The cops said it wasn’t their job to deal with it.

And in point of fact, the Lexington police have interviewed those concerned, and no charges have been filed. This incident was THEIR fault. They should have been restraining her, not Paul’s people.

In my view, considering they thought she was a danger to the safety of Paul, they handled her quite gently. She went to the hospital, but they found no serious injuries, and refused to admit her.

Fear, confusion and doubt: this is all this is about. The $5 trillion in debt since Pelosi took office is what people should be thinking about, and ARE thinking about, given Paul’s lead.

This is just a last ditch effort to try and smear Paul, one funded DIRECTLY by George Soros. Pathetic, as are any people who see this as anything but Alinskyan tactics executed in plain sight.

Very well said. That is exactly what this was. I was there, and I saw how his side was trying to whip up the crowd.

That said, I don’t know that these were exactly Conway supporters. It was a very strange evening. The sidewalk and parking lot in front of KET’s studios forms a sort of a T. The Paul supporters were on the side facing the UK football stadium. There was a group of what appeared to be genuine local Conway supporters across the sidewalk from us. They actually looked a little embarrassed, and one of the called across politely to ask what my sign said. I had no problems with them. The trouble came from the union agitators who were on the opposite side of the parking lot. They were the ones causing trouble. I don’t know that they were Conway supporters so much as they were Obama and Reid and Teamsters supporters.

I‘m also wondering if Jack Conway didn’t know what he was getting into when he got into this race. He looked a bit frightened when he came in. He spoke to no one, shook no hands and nearly ran into the building. I wonder if he‘d been warned that there was trouble brewing and hustled inside so he wouldn’t get blamed. Dr. Paul took the time to shake hands and greet supporters, and that gave her the opening.

She got what she was hoping for AND what she deserved. Contrary to what the lawyers are saying now, she was not hurt badly. Just a little sore. She could have been injured worse buy mistake. She was looking for trouble and she got it. I feel bad for the man because he will be facing legal challenges that he does not deserve, IMO. Paul had to cut him loose for appearance sake if nothing else. The man was pumped up from the scuffle and went a little too far. But it’s not that bad. Again, IMO. If it plays out the way I think it should, the courts should slap them both,(man and woman), on the wrist and let it go. Something should be said or done to the woman in an effort to keep this kind of behavior from happening again. Lets face it! She started it! If you don’t like the way the man handled the situation, then scold the people that started it and warn them not to do it again. How were these people supposted to know that she didn’t have a gun or some other evil intention. The scuffle looked alot like the scuffle that took place when Reagan and Oswald got shot……….

I have to comment. The video is humor, designed to get out the young vote. And pretty well done you have to admit – great graphics. And I read a complaint from Snowleopard, who regales us daily as God’s profit of the Apocalypse, of the election being a contest between the Army of God and the dark forces of evil embodied by Democrats, who are doing the bidding of Satan by wanting to help the poor more than the rich (sounds more like Jesus that Satan, but that’s just me).

I read support for Palin, someone regarded as unqualified to be President by 70% of Americans. The false outrage of her being portrayed in a negative light is deafening considering how President Obama is daily reviled by many here as the Antichrist who is deliberately destroying our country, etc. I hear support for Paladino (who thinks Palin is unqualified to be President by the way), the “family values candidate” who forwards email videos of bestiality as racists jokes and has a family with a mistress.

Folks, you need to listen to your hearts. When you see a bunch of big guys throw a woman to the ground and one guy stomp on her head, that’s bad. Most of you are saying that it was justified or provoked, but he’ll be convicted of assault you can be sure of that (the court won’t buy your justifications – you just don’t wrestle down and stomp on a nonviolent protester). Yes, it makes the TP look like goons (the foot stomping guy was a Rand Paul volunteer), but if you were to say that “he doesn’t represent us” that would cut losses. Every side has it’s crazies. But when you defend the guy, you look crazy.

      Hey Folks,

There is no question in my mind that this was all a fake. The Progressive/Lib’s stages both sides of this.

The “step-er“ gently places his foot on the left shoulder of the ”step-ie” and forcefully presses her body down a few times. There is NO momentum of that step-ers right leg/foot when it meets her back. His right toe is even pointed downward.. STOMPING would be with the toe of the foot moved toward the shin, and more of a heel action.

Also notice how the video fully frames the “Rand Paul” shirt while re-locating to the action. In my Humble opnion: This is obviously a ploy to subliminaly link Rand Paul with the event.. it’s pure theater .. We will probably see it on TrueTV very soon.

      Carry on

@cheezwhiz – No, she hasn’t apologized and will never have to because we have lost the moral authority to demand one from her (and, more importantly, those who put her up to her stunt) when Tim Proffitt, the guy in the glasses, stomped on a person who had been already been restrained.

I wonder what the Secret Service would have done if this person had been running towards the President, as she was at Paul? Does any candidate have the right to protect themselves from possible harm???
