Pawlenty Endorses Romney for President

WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — Tim Pawlenty is endorsing Mitt Romney for president.

That‘s the word from Romney’s campaign.

Pawlenty is a former Minnesota governor who dropped out of the GOP nomination race last month after a poor showing in the Iowa straw poll.

In an email to supporters sent by the Romney campaign early Monday, Pawlenty says that Romney alone — quote — possesses the unique qualifications to confront and master our severe economic predicament.

Pawlenty says he believes Romney can turn around the economy. And he called Romney a man of great character and principle.

He says he’s proud to stand with Romney and asks others to join him.

The Weekly Standard has an excerpt of the endorsement:

President Obama has failed to meet America’s economic challenges.

His three years of spending, regulating and taxing have not restarted the economy. Unemployment remains at a shocking 9.1 percent. Economic growth is hovering on the edge of a renewed recession.

Abroad, the standing of the United States appears uncertain and adrift under the failed leadership of a president who prefers chastising allies to condemning foes.

Fortunately, America may get a second chance: Mitt Romney is running for president, and I am proud to endorse him.

Alone among the contenders, he possesses the unique qualifications to confront and master our severe economic predicament. His abiding faith in our country’s exceptional historical position as a beacon of freedom will make him the most important leader in a world that depends upon a strong America to stay at peace.

Having served as Governor of Massachusetts, he turned that state’s budget around from deficit to surplus while simultaneously cutting taxes, but that is not the full measure of what he will bring to the Presidency. His time in government was a moment of service – a way to give back to our country-following a distinguished career in the private sector, where he launched companies and turned around troubled ones.

Pawlenty then confirmed the endorsement during an appearance on Fox News, where he repeated his support:

They are ALL good conservatives and Romney has earned his spot among them. If ANYONE has been more than vetted (unlike Obama) in this process. It’s been Romney!

I’m voting for Romney solely because his is unquestionably the most qualified. His record is unmatched. He did very good as a red governor of a blus state. What’dya think he was just going to impose all his conservativism on the most liberal state in the Union? That idiotic…any reasonable person would realize he’s going to govern based on his values couple with meeting the needs of the citizens of Mass. Which is exactly what he did and he drew that balance better than anyone could EVEN TODAY.
So quit repreating the stupid, non-thinking democratic liberal mantra the left needs you to parrot.
Romney will DECIMATE and candidate on content/substance/qualifications/leadership record/sucess in the private seector like no other. The problem is that no matter how good a person may strive to be..there is always some idiot that doesn’t agree philosophically and instead of making his defense philosophically finds it easier to follow the Alynski approach of discredit and defame a person when you cannot mount a defendible argument against him.
Romney is the single nominee that has been vetted more than anyone else. We know who he is precisely. You need look no further – nor do you need to redefine the findings or parrot what everyone else says. You cannot call a governor of 4 years a career politician, establishment or a RINO because that argument doesn’t hold water.
What matters is that he’s a principled man. A moral man. That he’s inherently a good man married to a splendi

President Romney would be more conservative than any president since Coolidge. Read his jobs plan. It’s absolutely brilliant.

Granted, the president after Romney needs to be far more radical in order to save this country, but Romney will be able to get us out of this rut and reverse the Progressive agenda.

Romney is not a “liberal” — remember 2008 when he ran to the RIGHT of McCain (O.K., so there is a lot of room to the right of McCain). The only liberal in the Republican primary is the center-left Huntsman. Compare him to Romney. Romney had a Democrat legislature and looney-toon Supreme Judicial Court to work with in the Bay State and i am convinced that Romney did his best. Hunstman had a great (i.e. genuinely conservative Republican) legislature, but he continually criticised them and fought for “progressive” changes in Utah — the Utah Senate had to intervene to stop a liberal Huntsman nominee from getting onto the Utah Supreme Court. You have to consider what a person has to work with.

I also noted the irony of a guy using the handle “John 3:16″ and using a gratutious reference to sodomy to advance a political point of view.

John 3:16-I live in Minnesota and Pawlenty was ANTI-Big government! He did not cave like the RINO George W. Bush on Spending. He was most definitely a fiscal conservative unlike the big spender Perry in Texas. Perry talks a good game but his rhetoric does not match his actions and I personally think he would be worse than Bush. Romney knows and understands global economics and that is the type of leader this country needs at this critical time. I would much rather have a leader with a brain than a leader who spouts talking points and provocative sound bytes.

Perry only has the support of evangelicals because Perry CLAIMS to have found religion recently, and that’s all evangelicals want to hear. They ignore the facts of his record, they ignore that he’s never accomplished anything in the business world, got bad grades in school, spent half of his life campaigning, has the highest high school drop out rate in the nation, has the highest number of workers at minimum wage OR LESS, has no detailed plans for improving anything, doesn’t want to secure the border but complains that Texas has the highest number of people without medical insurance because of the illegals…hmmm. Tonight he‘ll double down on not having any ideas for improving social security unless he copies what Romney’s plan is, just like he copied Romney’s plan for controlling healthcare costs. Perry fully supported Hillary are but wants you to overlook that along with running Al Gore’s campaign. Perry is nothing but a bully.

In any case, it‘s a shame America went against George Washington’s warnings to NOT create political parties. Now we have to play these games instead of just electing the best.

Mormonism scare me (as an evangelical)? No…Yours is an irrelevant heresy. Why do such intelligent people, and I know many intelligent Mormons, fall for a religion that is so demonstrably false? Bottom line, just consider this: If God gives any further revelation beyond the Bible, how can we demonstrate that revelation to be real and from God? Every kook out there is a prophet that gets extra-biblical revelation from God. Why would you fall for that?

” Bottom line, just consider this: If God gives any further revelation beyond the Bible, how can we demonstrate that revelation to be real and from God?” O.K., I will consider it. If I can know the Bible to be the Word of God, then how? The Holy Spirit would have to testify. Similarly, if I am presented with other purported revelation of God’s will, then that same source (the Holy Spirit) can give me a testimony.

How do you know it is the Holy Spirit? What if it contradicts the Bible?

I am thinking of a joke that the gist of it is the deacon tells the pastor that the Holy Spirit is telling him to divorce his wife and marry his secretary.

You can rationalize anything you like but can you not see the problem with this? The Holy Spirit guides me also, in fact, this is what marks an evangelical…We recognize that to be saved we must be born again and we have had a conversion when the Holy Spirit has entered us. But one of my personal quotes is the Holy Spirit is a guide, not an enforcer. He allows you to see the truth of Scripture but He does not give new revelation. He allows you to use Scripture to live a Christ-like life but He does not force your actions. He prods you when you are out of God’s will, but He does not make you submit. God, in His sovereignty, does give us free will and we can turn from Him.

If you think you can trust your own judgment as to what is from God and what is from man then more power to you. I just hope you truly are Spirit led in this.

Actually it does, Lord Dribble. Not in an actual phrase, mind you, but Paul clearly teaches that there will be a time when the canon will be closed and certain sign gifts will pass away.

But if you are a Catholic, JW, or Mormon, or a follower of any of the other cults that believe they have new revelation from a new prophet then go for it. But I think I would require some kind of proof to believe anything beyond the Bible. It gets especially bad when history shows that your prophet was wrong on many things. Or that your doctrine is contrived for political reasons. Or when your teachings contradict the Bible.

Once again, it is your call, I will die to defend your right to worship as you see fit, even if that means worshiping Satan. But you should give some serious thought to what I am saying here.

Now that I think about it, Mark 13 says something on the matter too, in Christ’s own words:

“At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.”

But this is common sense anyway. If you want to add in extra-biblical sources as inspired then the sky is the limit. Who is to say the Mormons are right and Catholicism is wrong? Catholicism has been around much longer, I think I would stick with them, after all, their Pope is inerrant…Right? I mean we can both show where the Pope was wrong many times, can we not?

Again, think about it. Where are Smith’s golden tablets?

Jesus Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1). He reveals his will to prophets, and they write it down (Amos 3:7). Others read those writings and can know for themselves, by the Spirit, whether the words are from God or not. Our eyes and senses can be deceived, but the Spirit of God is able to transcend all barriers and reveal things to us in a way that we know it (Matt. 16:17). That is why blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is unpardonable (Matt. 12:31). You can recognize the voice of the Spirit, by it’s fruit, namely “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness” and temperance (Gal 5:22-23). The Holy Ghost will fill your heart with those qualities when He is present, and often it is accompanied by a “burning” sensation in our hearts (Luke 24:32). In addition, the Spirit will bring peace and understanding to our minds (Philip. 4:7).

When we read or hear something that the Spirit witnesses to be the word of God, we should act upon those promptings, and then we will know for ourselves (James 1:22). “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.” (John 7:17).

Romney is a progressive good ol’boy and needs to disappear soon. We need his socialism to be exposed. He is a power hungry idiolog. He is more concerned about himself and the RINO party than the American people. He needs to be exposed as another destroyer of liberty. We need a Revolution before we need his low life style of leadership. He only lies 50% as much as the communist in chief Barak HUSSAIN Obama who only lies when his blue colored lips move. The Tea Party Patriots will reject this reject.

Perry has NO PLAN to save Social Security! He’s just SAYING ………..like Perry does in campaigns………..all the “right” things, all of the TOUGH talk to rouse up the “base”. Romney acknowledges problems with SS but he has a PLAN and resolve to fix it.

      Where’s Perry on that???
Oh, that’s right………..Beck followers forget Beck’s flip on Perry……..they all think Perry’s the “savior” and they throw all reasoning out the window!

Perry has TONS of issues in his background that show issues of integrity, big government, pandering, crony capitalism, use of executive orders to mandate vaccine for sexually transmitted diseases……..all the while acting like such a conservative with the abstinence program. (I agree w/abstinence, but Perry’s INCONSISTENT! Oh, but the HPV vaccine, crony capitalism with maker of vaccine, Merck!)

Romney is a man with no skeletons in his closet. A man who got rich by WORKING in the private sector business. (Republicans……….don‘t hold your nose in the air over Romney because he’s rich! If so……….change you party affliation to Democrat!) Perry has gotten RICH while in public office by numerous lucrative land deals with his supporters. Very interesting. Oh, so many skeletons in Perry’s closet.

I expect to see NO VETTING or TRUTH about Perry on the Blaze or by Beck. Sad for “truth has no agenda”.

Where is HONOR? You don’t have to like/support Romney, but there is no “fairness” in Beck’s treatment of Romney and Perry which has taken my rose colored glasses off w/Beck!

This country is slipping right before our eyes and we need to put a stop to the evil we are seeing. The Democrats fear that Romney will get the nomination because he would undoubtedly beat their messiah Obama. They would however relish a Perry or Paul Republican nomination. People are not doing their homework when they describe Perry as a fiscal conservative. I truly think the reason for the strong opposition to Romney is his personal religion.

Anyone who says Romney is “Obama-lite” doesn’t have a clue. The men could not be more different from each other.

And, as far as Romneycare is concerned, I don’t care for it, but it was designed by the Heritage Foundation, one of the most reliably conservative organizations in the country. It was designed to get rid of free riders. Most important, it was designed to keep services and insurance in the private sector. Obamacare is designed to destroy the private sector.

Let’s go back to the old days, let the GOP brass sit in a closed room, vote and choose somebody. Then, we can get on with the business of ditching the unqualified dolt in the WH.

Romney is the only candidate that can win the general election. I like Bachman and Perry, but if I am to be realistic, they will not win the general election and we must think that way or Obama will win. Perry and Bachman are way to right, they will not win the majority of people. Sorry but those are the facts.

Unfortunately, looking more and more like we will have four more years of socialism/communism forced upon us…Best we can do is vote the dems out of congress so there is a majority of Repubs in congress again…Both parties have much to be ashamed for their past actions..

Sarah Palin is the only long term solution. She‘s the only one that resembles ALL of us and she’s got more stones than Perry and Romney combined. You guys can either see the light now, or wait another 4 or 8 years, wasting time, money and our future.

      Words of Wisdom:

If I’m going to have to die I would rather die a quick death than a slow death. Romney represents the slow death route to the end of the Republic. So to you idiots that are sooooooooo wise to hope that Romney can beat Obama guess again and get your collective heads out of your you know what and use your God given energy and talent to campaign for those that will really stand up to Obama and quit wasting our time (and yours!).

And pray allow me to end this message the way I started this message:

And when I die pray that I was on God‘s side because God will judge all of us for what we did or didn’t do with our God given energy and talents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      tradexpertbuysell,
You say those things because you think 0bama is just another bad politician. There is a plan in progress here and it is being instituted by a certain group of people. Not all politicians are part of it. That plan must be interrupted and that can only be done by taking those people out of the white house. If we have to take something less than the best to stop it, we will have a chance of improving things the next time around. If we allow the present regime more time to carry out their plan, there will be no next time.
