PBS Commentator Bill Moyers: George Soros Has Been the ‘Victim’ of Glenn Beck and Fox News ‘Assassins’

Longtime PBS news commentator Bill Moyers said Friday that billionaire George Soros has “been the victim, of course, of Glenn Beck and the right-wing, the Fox News assassins.”

Moyers made his comments in a discussion with Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington, during which he praised Soros, whom Moyers also said is “deeply troubled by the Orwellian power of the right-wing in this country today.”

Transcript below, via Newsbusters:

BILL MOYERS: I’ll tell you somebody you could, you should go for, because he has given more thought to this than almost anyone I know: George Soros, believe it or not. George Soros, whatever you think about his wealth or his politics, George Soros was next to Vaclav Havel I think the most catalytic agent for helping to bring down the Communist government behind the Iron Curtain because he, he gave everybody who wanted one an equivalent of a Xerox machine, and so they could get the message out.

And he is deeply troubled by the Orwellian power of the right-wing in this country today. He talks about it. I was on his board for a several years, and I’m off now that I’m back on the air, but I was on his board, and he is deeply troubled. He is a great devotee of the open society, the society that does change because it listens to itself, and learns from its experience.

He’s been the victim, of course, of Glenn Beck and the right-wing, the Fox News assassins. So he’s thought a great deal about the Orwellian idea, and he said it has arrived in this country. It is here, part of the permanent, a permanent characteristic of American democracy which is therefore self-suicidally bent because of the power and force of propaganda. He’d be somebody I know would write you a really good piece for that.

    George Soros “Open Society” is about the Collective and not about the individual, America is a Republic that uses a Democracy, therefore it allows individual thoughts and discussion, therefore according to George Soros it is suicidal to the Collective but not the individual.

    America’s founders were very careful in drafting the US Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and explaining it in the Federalist Papers, they wanted to ensure that America was not taken over by those who had a Tyrant Dictator vision of ruling the people.

    This requires people to function as a group of Individuals and not as a Collective, the Collective is equal to the Nazi way of thinking, the weak must be removed, only those who can benefit the Collective are allowed to remain. The original founder of Planned Parenthood also believed this was best for society and she founded Planned Parenthood in hopes of weeding out those she thought were not worthy of benefiting society as a whole.

    These people do not believe that everyone is created equal and therefore must weed out anyone who does not meet the requirements of the Collective.

      Soros – Bretton Woods Conference

      George Soros is holding his international conference this weekend, April 8th to April 11th at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. Of the many who were invited none of the true US and World Financial Experts will be attending. Bretton Woods is the historic site of the 1944 conference, which established the post-World War II international financial system. Soros is spending $50 million dollars at Bretton Woods to bring together up to 200 academic, business and government policy leaders (some from outside the US) to introduce to his Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET). This meeting was not recognized by the original Bretton Woods Council. Soros’ goal in association with a concurrent meeting of the Tri-Lateral Commission, in DC this weekend, is to dismantle our economy, dismiss the head of our current banks and create a new global financial system sabotaging our US currency.

      The attendees at this conference include three members of the Rothschild family along with their primary banker, four members of the British parliament, Paul Volcker, Harry Reid, Mitt Romney, David Dewhurst, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and some World Bank executives.

      Soros came to the aid of Ron Paul in the last debate when Paul attacked Santorums’s record.

      Paul said that “…somebody did make a survey and I think he came out as one of the top corrupt individuals because he took so much money from the lobbyists.”

      That “somebody” was CREW, a Soros-funded group that targets Republicans and conservatives.

      Santorum shot back: “Let’s talk about the corruption issue. The person who—the group that called me corrupt was a group called CREW. If you haven’t been sued by CREW, you’re not a conservative. CREW is this left-wing organization that puts out a list every election of the top Republicans who have tough races and calls them all corrupt because they take contributions from PACs. It’s a ridiculous charge. And you should know better than to cite George Soros-like organizations to say that they’re corrupt.”

      Yes, soros will disrupt the process. Just wait until spring. The physical attacks on candidates will occur everywhere in the country. The chances are pretty high that they come up with a scheme to suspend elections if obama’s #s are bad. They have come too far to give up now. Soros is old. He wants his glory. So does obama.

      There is something seriously wrong with obama. There is darkness in him. A darkness that actually scares me. Most politicians lie or bend the truth. But I have never seen anyone lie the way obama does. His lying has no effect on him. One could almost say that he believes his own bs. And yet, he is completely detached from his own words. At best he is a pathological liar. And I bet he laughs all the way about what he has gotten away with. If you pay close attention you can actually see it sometimes when he suppresses the joy of being able to say certain things and get away with it.

      Obama is an enemy to the US. I would not be surprised if it turns out that the US was taken in a bloodless coup. I do not believe obama is an American. No matter what anybody says. Conspiracy or not. There are too many signs. Did michelle not say Kenya is obamas homeland? I think many people just cannot go there. It is the biggest humiliation one could face.
