I miss Mr. Rogers.
Defenders will say the Perry’s decollatage was covered in a mesh fabric. So what? Poor Elmo had to cavort with Perry in the flirtatious segment.
The 24-year-old singer is seen in a low-cut yellow-green heart-shaped dress with a shear piece of material covering her ample cleavage. The wedding veil on her head is part of a dress-up game with Elmo that has gone awry.
She proceeds to chase the “Sesame” regular while singing a version of “Hot N Cold” that focuses on the puppet waffling over their play date instead of an up-and-down relationship.
I miss Mr. Rogers.

Posted on September 21, 2010 at 8:22pmOh, this is agenda straight down the line. The SecularCommunistHumanistLiberalEvolutionistProgressives, i.e., SCHLEPs, are poisoning children with their philosophy of moral relativism, and they do it at tax-payer‘s expense because their’s is the State Religion. They hate the Bible, and are determined to undermine it every chance they get.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Report Post »7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Posted on September 21, 2010 at 7:53pmThere is no way that she can claim that the appropriate attire for a childrens’ program was an accidental oversight. As she was tucking herself into that thing it would have been more than obvious.
Therefore I can only conclude that it was an intentional action aimed at making a statement that she and PBS believed met their agenda.
They should be sued… If it would ever hold up in court. There must be some rational way to prevent this kind of behavior from sources that we are lured into trusting to be good for our children.
Thanks to these a**holes, I am forced to become a hypocrite and support censorship. They would love to be able to claim that I am not a conservative and believe in smaller government.
Report Post »I despise them all the more for making me feel at odds with my own values.

Posted on September 21, 2010 at 8:13pmYeah she should have put on a Burqa. I say lets bury her up to her neck a throw some stones at her. That will teach her. The only thing that bothers me about this is that some weak parent will let their 6 year old dress up like this and then blame it on sesame street. We wouldn’t want these poor parents to turn off the TV or tell their kids they cant imitate everything they see on TV. No that would take the personal responsibility that want to promote in society.
Report Post »tepartyblog.info
Posted on September 21, 2010 at 8:20pmNo the only thing your are forced to do is turn off your tv and seek a proctologist. The lets sue every time I do something retarded or somebody offends us mentality is a part of the “I have no responsibility for anything” crap that has ruined our nation.

Report Post »I’m not sure that I really do think that they should be sued. I am a conservative, and I don’t think that the courts should be clogged with frivolous lawsuits every time someone decides to cry about an offense. I am for the most part against censorship (realism as appropriate of course).
I am also against parents that don’t have enough sense of responsibility to change the channel or turn the tv off. I am just frustrated because I feel like good family values are being attacked at what should be safe territory. I do try to do what’s right for my family. It just gets harder and harder to uphold good family values without feeling like we have to hole up in our homes, or be on constant guard. I am most frustrated by the fact that we cannot undo what our children might see before we can get to the remote.
I really don’t begrudge others rights of expression, But I would ask them not to abuse those rights at the same time. And since PBS is funded by tax dollars, they have a responsibility. They made a choice to be inappropriate, and we do have a right to ask why?
I see your point, the proctologist won’t be necessary. But it does still aggravate me, as it should any responsible parent.

Posted on September 22, 2010 at 4:23amThe problem with this is that while responsible parents turn this sort of show off at home, they have no say over what goes on at school. I remember watching PBS regularly as part of class in elementary school. Certainly the before and after school programs watch PBS, and many day care facilities do as well. As much as a parent wishes to censor their own child’s viewing, if they leave them with any other caregiver, it becomes impossible to screen.

We had to use special dolls and watch the children play. We also worked with perpetrators. They were usually abused as children as well. We did intervention…however, this is totally uncalled for. Let children be children. There are cities in rural Kansas where kids jump rope, play hopscotch, and dodge ball like kids.

Posted on September 21, 2010 at 9:11pmWashington – It’s not your money!
Americans are trying to scrape by and even save as the country goes under and this govt is stealing our money and has spent Billions of it on pet projects like “public television”.
Frankly this is not a morality issue – I thought the girl was cute and that you people complaining about her legs or breasts are idiots. But when I think of the fact that our govt steals your money to spend on something you find offense – that makes me furious for you.
The simple fact is that our constitution should have guaranteed that washington could not spend our money as THEY desire. But they have destroyed our constitution.
THAT is what you should be outraged about!

Posted on September 21, 2010 at 11:50pmYay. Progress.
Granted, it’s been a while since I watched Sesame Street, but this performer is a bit “mature” for the target audience, IMHO. I seem to recall various performers singing songs from the Sesame Street writers (like Ray Charles singing “It’s not easy, being green” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5rceMe-kt4 or Destiny’s Child singing “I got a new way to walk” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2soPnfYMiFU or Johnny Cash singing his own song “Five Feet High” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M2v-pkSIQY)
As I said, Progress – Yay.

Posted on September 22, 2010 at 12:24amThis goes directly toward what your children are watching. Sesame Streets target audience has always been 3-7(Ish) early to school aged children. These children look at the cast as role models, not just the puppets but the adult cast members as well. So was her outfit distasteful (aside from the chartreuse ****** comment that comes to mind), well yeah for the target audience entirely inappropriate. Maybe not for a more adult venue but not small children.
