Pelosi Dreams of Rush Being ‘Advertiseless’

Pelosi Jabs Nameless and Hopefully Advertiseless Radio Commentators, Pushes Birth Control Legality Narrative in Contraception Fight

House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi was a guest at the third annual Women in the World summit hosted by Newsweek and the Daily Beast in New York City this weekend. Speakers at the conference included Angelina Jolie, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, IMF chief Christine Lagarde and Senior White House Advisor Valerie Jarrett. During “A Conversation with Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi,“ the Minority Leader used choice phrases like ”the war on women“ and ”a lack of respect for the opinion of women in making their own decisions” to demean those who do not believe religious colleges should be forced to pay for their students’ birth control, which Georgetown Law Student Sandra Fluke infamously testified can cost over $3,000 during law school.

In her remarks, Rep. Pelosi said that the radio commentators who verbally attacked Fluke should “remain nameless and hopefully advertiseless:”

Bloomberg Businessweek reports that Rep. Pelosi went on to say that this is the time for women to “free themselves of what the status quo is,” and to get more involved in politics, the military, business and entrepreneurial endeavors.

That is, if you’re pro-choice.

The Daily Beast notes that during the panel titled “The New Threat to Women’s Rights,” Rep. Pelosi, while speaking on birth control and the contraception mandadte, urged “We need to take the opportunity to make the changes necessary so that nobody has to fight this fight again.”

Rep. Pelosi went on to spout misinformation that the recent fight in Washington involving contraception is motivated by people arguing against the legality of birth control, rather than for religious liberty and the fiscal reality that in these uncertain economic times, employers and organizations should not be forced to fund such services. Rep. Pelosi went on to tell a recycled (and yet to be proven factual) instance on the Hill when assumably pro-life colleagues allegedly chastised the congresswoman for assuming she knew more about birth than the Pope:

      If you listen to the videos you can tell she’s insane, or at minimum someone who believes that couples have a right to plan their pregnancies. Although virtually all Catholic couples use contraception to avoid unwanted pregnancy, as members of other religions do, what she doesn’t understand is that the Catholic hierarchy – all those old, white, unmarried guys and their young male acolytes – is against birth control. What she doesn’t get is that, although most adherents of the Catholic religion use birth control and, polls show, are in favor of insurance companies covering hormonal birth control the same as any other prescription drug, when you say “Catholics” you’re talking about the old white guys in charge, not members of the Catholics religion. Catholics in general use and support birth control, but we’re dealing with the Catholic hierarchy here, something Pelosi doesn’t understand.

      Nor does she understand that members of the Church of Latter Day Saints have a right to marry as many women and twelve year olds as they want because of the First Amendment.

I happen to be Catholic and I do not believe in birth control nor do I advocate the GOVERNMENT to mandate it . Less is more and exponentially so when concerned with the federal goliath. The next time, post some fact, or at least post the poll so I can rip apart it’s biased control group.

      God is so merciful! He gives us plenty of chances to mend our ways but some double down on what they truly know in their hearts to be wrong. These will face judgment. This started out as women being given some control over their bodies to say when they will have children, now its become more than that. When confronted about the murder they are commiting they just yawn and make up a name to call what they are doing as right and proper. They have been given plenty of notice and if they do not heed that notice then they open themselves up to Gods harse judgment for their actions.

      Chutz, the “Government” isn’t mandating that you or your significant other take birth control. Something tells me that birth control isn’t an issue you with you, but there is no “mandate” for anyone to take birth control.

      If a Catholic doesn’t want birth control, then they don’t ask their doctor for it. Simple. If a Catholic doesn’t try to get birth control, they don’t get it. Doctors don’t have the authority to demand that their patients take birth control and then invade their home each night and force them to a take birth control pill. Nor does the Catholic church have the right post someone in your bedroom to make sure you’re either not have sex or not using birth control. Preventing pregnancy with catholics and others is an individual decision, and either you use birth control, or, likely, you’ll start a pregnancy.

      As far as polls Chutz, you just need to keep up, watch the news and Google if you want to see poll results.

She has been tied into this pitch since before Obama was born (I am woman I am a victim thus I Am) and she has pitched health care for HIll and Bill and Obama behind closed doors. This is now a detraction away from the million dollars Bill Maher gave to Obama and no one is mentioning that little fact are they? She tripped to Syria in 2006 wore a hajib and no one questioned that. This is also detraction away from her visit to the Pope who refused to see her. “My favorite word is the word” and note that Madeleine Albright is also on the panel. In her very own words (her book) she wrote that we are in a “holy war” although previously she had thought otherwise. So who is to gain besides American women in this victimization fight for “women’s rights” and human rights and who will pay for these contraception pills, etc.? Ask yourself what America has left to sell right now? This is still an argument about freedom of religion and speech and we need to keep it focused (yes, note who your Dem. senators were who voted with Repub. for the pipeline right here at election time after Obama “lectured” them to vote against it. Remember Mary Landrieu who took a “fix” and was proud of it voting for Obamacare? Is she up for relelection Louisiana?). It is election time so let us focus this back to Constitution and local elections. Don’t let the fanatic women change the conversation and/or Bill Maher’s “funny” root rot million dollar donation.

      @JZS the mandate is that insurance cover free contraception, and that the Catholic church pay for it… by that rationale “I” pay for it through my tithe. Government has no authority to mandate healthcare (contraception is NOT healthcare even for ovarian cysts. there are other hormonal medication they can take for women’s reproductive issues, my wife has used them), nor do they have the authority to mandate those opposed to it pay for it.

      I am up to date on news and polls JZS and the poll you cited used a biased control group. That whole 98% of Catholics support contraception is entirely false.

      You certainly like to twist peoples posts and attempt to make them inconsequential but you will not do that to me. You are incorrect in your post and that is FACT.

When they are done being used, they will be discarded by the real revolutionaries. I mean to say that the Pelosi’s are realizing short-term gain, yes…..but in the end, they will be viewed as 1%’ers to be branded as part of the problem of a greedy, racist group who will no longer be needed.

      This isn’t about the legalities of birth control.
      It is about whether or not you can mandate that someone else must pay for another persons “lifestyle” choice.
      You want to ride a bike? Buy your own bike.
      You want to jog? Buy your own shoes.
      You want to have sex? Buy your own contraceptives.
      Pelosi just wants to buy votes from the cradle-to-grave crowd and subsidize more government clinics & sex programs that funnel those tax payer dollars back into democratic coffers.

I was raised in that faith and I KNOW she does not adhere to the tenants of the faith. She has the option of leaving, as I did. To publicly excoriate the pope is an excommunicable offense, at least it was when I parted ways 40 years ago. I hope the hierarchy gets wind of this.       Rush‘s advertisers will figure out they need Rush’s listeners more than the few liberals that called to threaten not to spend their imaginary money unless they remove their ads. One advertiser has already begged to advertise with Rush again.

      @End Actually Rush has lost very little advertisers, most of the advertisers they claim have pulled from him are bulk commercial renters of the radio stations that air Rush, they have nothing to do with Rush directly. Please post fact not fiction.

      If the listeners choose to purchase products advertised on Rush’s show then they will not be purchasing the products of the advertisers who left him in some sort of “moral indignation”. Ask yourself, why would they leave? They are afraid the public will perceive their advertising as support for the spoken opinion of a man who speaks his opinion for a living. Is this something that caught them off guard? Did they not know this is what he did on the show? Who knew they advertised on Rush’s show? The people who listen to him at their own free will, that’s who. They advertised on his show to gain exposure to potential customers. Now they have given up that opportunity and someone else will step in and take their place. Capitalism wins out at the end of the day. It’s easier to find advertisers to fill the void left behind than it is for those departed entities to find new customers, especially after choosing NOT to advertise to their preferred demographic clientele. The loss is miniscule when you have 600+ affiliates and most advertising is with the station, not the program. Ads move to other shows and the stations still make their money. Oh, and you’re behaving like a typical snot nosed liberal parasite, giggling till you pee yourself a little, pointing your dainty “never worked a hard day in your life” finger and saying “Ha… One of them got in trouble” while the Obama Speech Police attempt to silence the opposition. Sorry, it ain’t working!!!

      I remember one other time you salivating drooling knuckle dragging mouth breathers were so **** sure that Rush was finished. He went into rehab and 2 months later when he returned he was back on top. You see, unlike liberals, we conservatives have fortitude and tenacity. We also admit our mistakes and move on to rebuild what has been damaged. If he lost advertisers, and from what he says he lost a few, there will be more to take their places. Why? Because Rushs’ listeners are loyal and will help him get past this Liberal created controversy. We will punish his advertisers who dropped him and reward those who didn’t. All 20 million of us are his extended family and we refuse to see him damaged by the lies of the Marxists. Twenty four years as the top rated radio talker with an annual salary that exceeds 30 million dollarsin doesn’t come easy and will not go easy either. Pant and drool all you like it will be for naught. Rush has endured through much worse than this. It’s not even a blip on the radar.
