Pelosi Predicts Dem Majority; Clyburn Predicts Dem ‘Bloodbath’

I understand that the House Speaker can’t very well go around saying that Dems will lose big tonight, but claiming that Dems are “on pace” to maintain their House majority?
ABC News reports:
“With the early returns and the overwhelming number of democrats who are coming out, we’re on pace to maintain the majority in the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said. “We’re very confident in our candidates and the message that they are delivering to preserve social security, to make it in America [and] to fight for the middle class.”
Pelosi pushed back at the general consensus inside the beltway among political pundits and election analysts that Republicans are likely to pick up the 39 seats they need to seize control of the House.
“The people have to speak, and this election will not be determined by the pundits, or it won’t be determined by a few precincts in the east,” Pelosi said. “It‘s an election that will take place all across America and we’re very proud of the hundreds of thousands of volunteers who are as we speak knocking on doors, ringing door bells, making phone calls to get out the vote for a great Democratic victory.”
Meanwhile, another top House Democrat, Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn, is not being coy. According to Clyburn, polls indicate an electoral “bloodbath” for Democrats tonight. From Politico:
During an interview with Columbia radio station WVOC, the South Carolina Democrat contended that the election is still “up in the air” but conceded that likely-voter models don’t look good for the majority party.If that scenario plays out, the longtime Democrat said, “we’ll lose the House and lose big.”
“If you were to believe what the polls are saying about those who are likely to vote, then it’s going to be something close to a bloodbath for Democrats,” he said.

Someone help me out on this, please. Nancy, and many others, tend to use the word Democratic in a way that confuses me. Shouldn’t she have said “for a great Democrat victory”? Unless I’m mistaken, a “Democratic victory” is a redundant statement regardless of who is the victor. Someone please clarify this for me.

She is try to have you relate democratic , as in democratically elected, to the democrat party. In other words, if you vote democrat, you are doing your duty to democratically elect a person to office. They (Both sides) do it all the time and you‘ll catch it if you’re looking for it. Advertising companies do it to sell products by showing you images you will think of when you think of the product on the shelf. And so on and so forth…

Her face will shatter like broken glass! This will be interesting to see what type of face she displays tomorrow and for the next couple of months. I am more interested in learning what measures Democrats will try to force upon us during this lame duck session of congress.

Agreed here, the lame duck session will be the near term most dangerous time for the country. I pray the nation has nothing else slammed upon it, yet I also expect that Pelosi and them just will not go silently into the night. We need to watch and warn if anything starts.

Sure enough. We are excited about elections today but we have a rough patch ahead. There is still to be a vote on extending the Bush tax cuts, amnesty for illegals might be pushed through congress, border security is a clear threat, ethics trials are yet to be held for Rangel, Waters and others, a lot other issues are yet to come such as gay rights and global warming cap and trade.
Democrats are still in power and can do a lot of damage to us, especially with economic policy issues. Democrats will be angry and will be desperate; they will behave like wounded animals.
Heck, fat butt Michelle might pitch a fit and have ice cream banned from American markets.
