Pelosi to Union Workers: GOP Wants Americans to ‘Sacrifice,‘ While They ’Get the Wealth’

The polarizing rhetoric from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is still in full throttle. Speaking to a crowd of union workers on Capitol HillPelosi to Union Workers: GOP Wants Americans to Sacrifice, While They Get the Wealth Tuesday, Pelosi unleashed a tirade accusing Republicans of wanting “destroy” everything — from food safety, to clean air and water, to education and “your rights.” According to Pelsosi, the GOP wants Americans to “sacrifice” while they enjoy the spoils of…well, what, exactly, we’re still unclear.

According to TPM, Pelosi blasted the GOP saying:

“This isn’t just about them saying we should reduce the deficit,” she said, adding: “This is an excuse. The budget deficit is an excuse for the Republicans to undermine government plain and simple. They don’t just want to make cuts, they want to destroy. They want to destroy food safety, clean air, clean water, the department of education. They want to destroy your rights.”

Pelosi alleges Democrats approach to the debt problem is not only more balanced but is aimed at improving the lives of the middle class workers to whom she was speaking. Of Republicans, Pelosi continued:

“They do not like the government,” Pelosi said. “They’re riding an engine of popular support for, ok we have to reduce the deficit. And they’re using that to destroy.”

“The Speaker has said that between him and the president they have a different vision of America and that’s how come their budget proposals are different,” she sad. “Quite different…We get the sacrifice, they get the wealth.”

      Actually, a significant majority of union members believe what Pelozi and other libs tell them. And because the DNC understands this they know how to press labor’s hot button and keep them in line – until the next election and they are needed. Ditto for blacks and Hispanics who have been played like a fiddle for the last forty years.

      Union employees understand four things: more money, less work, job security and seniority. That is what most of them pay dues for and they can and do expect it. So anything that touches these points gets their attention.

      Of course, they don’t risk their own money starting a business so that reality is ignored – not my table said the waiter. They overstate the extent and complexity of their work and consequently how it is valued. They want to work forty hours at a time most convenient to them and go home. Finally, they feel the well-off should only enjoy what they enjoy which makes no sense. Unless, of course you are Pelozi and spoon-feeding crap to them which they eat up for reasons stated earlier.

      By and large union folks are not that well educated as a group – notable and welcome exceptions, of course. It’s reflected in their emotionalism when the pocketbook is impacted as well as their general life decision quality. Quite a few of my friends are union or retired union and we are united by a hobby. After 50 odd years I understand the mind-set pretty well and better than most.

      Apparently Pelosi has been taking lessons from Alan Grayson and he, in turn, learned his presentation skills from watching a kindergarten’s Show & Tell.

      Get rid of the garbage we don’t need. We don’t need the National Endowment for the Arts AT ALL. Obama‘s wealthy buddies don’t need those 80+% wage increases. There’s loads of waste. Let the states have more control. Having too many middle men makes money disappear. Why send money to D.C.just to have it sent back to the states? Surplus states shouldn‘t have to pay for San Francisco’s stupidity. D.C. can’t find waste?
      Government is obviously too big since they lose millions of dollars every year. If you can’t keep track of the money, you’ve designed a very poor system. Businesses have to track every penny, but government just takes our money and says, “Oops. Where did that half a billion go? Oh well, let‘s just print more and devalue everyone’s life savings. Not our problem, not our money.”
      Just keep spending and printing irresponsibly.

      I don’t understand how anyone could be a Progressive unless they want to destroy the country (Obama), they’re corrupt (Clintons), or they’re idiots (Pelosi).

      No, we do not need to cut their salaries in half, their needs to be NO salaries for any of them on capitol hill. After all, George Washington did not want to have salaries. Because he knew TRUE representation would be wrought out that way. To say this country was not founded from inspiration from Providence is foolish. Providence told them that paid representatives would eventually destroy the system.
      Abolish the party system, salaries on the hill for TRUE representation. Politics should not be a career, but a part time service. Make it illegal to lobby. A few real changes that will benefit the country.

      I wish it were about meds. This woman is beyond drugs, or mental problems. She really should be ashamed of herself. Shame! Shame! Shame! Talk about hatred and lies! I don’t know a single republican that wants to destroy the water, the environment, or people’s jobs. Most business owners are republicans and they are the ones creating jobs. Every government employee causes sacrifice for all the rest of us. Every union job is because some rich person decided to invest their money in creating something new or different. Union members don’t create jobs, nor do government employees. It seems to me the only ones not sharing in the sacrifice is government and union employees. Talk about keeping the wealth while others sacrifice! Like I said, shame! shame! shame!

      Human nature dictates that most normal people want to create something better and enjoy the benefits of their labor and risk. This is called free enterprise capitalism, the greatest wealth creator in human history. Guess what that means to the rest of us? No, it doesn’t mean people lose their jobs and a few greedy people get richer. It means jobs and opportunities are created, generating economic growth for all.

      Class warfare only breeds hate and envy. Sounds like a lousy career choice to me! Unless you’re a democrat politician or union boss, of course. What is it that politicians and union bosses create?
