Pelosi Turns Down Cantor’s SOTU Invite…via Twitter

It’s high school all over again on Capitol Hill — the four-eyed wallflower can’t get a date with the most popular girl in school.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has turned down Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s invitation to sit side-by-side during Tuesday’s State of the Union address. Pelosi informed the Republican lawmaker — via Twitter — that she had already invited another colleague, Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md., to sit with her.

“I thank @GOPLeader for his #SOTU offer, but I invited my friend Rep. Bartlett from MD yesterday & am pleased he accepted,” Pelosi tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

Don’t worry — Cantor rebounded quickly, announcing Tuesday morning — also via Twitter — that he would be sitting with Rep. Bobby Scott, D-Va.

From a media outlet that cares about gossip like this, the Washington Post reported:

Cantor told reporters Tuesday morning that his office had extended an invitation to Pelosi and that he was waiting to hear back. The invitation came a day after he made an unprompted jab at Pelosi during a pen-and-pad briefing with reporters at which he charged that “it seems that [Pelosi] is continuing to drive an ideological agenda, just the same as she did over the last four years.”

Let‘s hope President Obama doesn’t have anything substantive to say in his annual address since the bi-partisan seating chart seems to be all the media cares out lately.

We in 5th grade here? Hey Cantor – how about just passing her a note in private with the “If you like me, check the yes box” crap written in it. Eff the likes of Pelosi. There is a reason they didn’t extend the olive branch during their reign of terror – so it’s perfectly reasonable for you to reciprocate the same lack of kindness to them. They don’t care – get it? Or do you just like being played?

I know, Cantor doesn’t read these posts. I sometimes just have to do the 1st person rant to get my feelings off of my chest. :) Blaze On!
