Perry Announces He’s Returning to TX to Reassess Campaign

During a speech following his fifth-place finish in the Iowa Caucuses, TX Gov. Rick Perry said he will be returning to his home state to reassess his campaign.

After reading a letter from a volunteer — during which he got choked up — Perry said he would take time to pray and reflect on his campaign and determine a path forward.

Earlier in the day, Perry had encouraged supporters to keep the faith as his advisers looked ahead to South Carolina as the first real test of his presidential campaign.

This is a breaking story. Updates will be added. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

    Its pretty simple Mr. Perry.
As with McCain, Huckabee, and Newt, your views on illegal immigration has cost you. You cannot be trusted. Nor will you be trusted again. These people dont want to be Americans. Americans dont want The NAU or The Nasco Corridor.

He should get out so we conservatives can get behind ONE REAL CONSERVATIVE MORE EASILY INSTEAD OF DIVIDING OUR VOTES. The media will provide ODUMBO with the answers in the debates. He will also be using audio and visual. This situation would be difficult for Perry. Newt could take Odumbo apart without a teleprompter and without knowing the questions in advance, which Odumbo will. So could Romney, Bachmann, who should also leave now, Paul and Santorum. The Repub. nominee must start acting like the DUMMYCRAPS ARE THE ENEMIES, NOT THE TEA PARTY PEOPLE. They better learn that REALLY FAST.

opinion: We all need to stop and think of what is of the most importance for our republic right now.
Some may say jobs, others may say stop spending… I say it’s our freedom and protecting our constitution. It would be nice to pick qualities from each candidate and meld them into one perfect candidate but that’s not possible. From where I sit I see all candidates as fine people. But which of them will govern hand in hand with the constitution? Think about it.
We, as a free people, can put this country back on course. We don’t need the government passing thousands of new laws each year to tell us how to live, work or play! We are not a stupid people.
We can see, if we step back for a moment from all the rhetoric, what the progressives are doing.
They’ve infiltrated both camps…and at the way Iowa concluded… they (progressives) may continue to advance.
We are not going to agree with some things, that’s a fact. But one thing we must look for in candidates and which I’m sure we all can agree on is vote for freedom and safeguard our Constitution.

I don’t put much stock in people who surge in the polls. Perry surged and fell to single digits, Bachman surged and fell to single digits, dito with cain and Newt. The ones who are most likely to win this campaign would be the ones who have had a consistent slow and or steady growth in poll numbers. That pretty much leaves us with Romney and Paul, regardless of how you feel about either.

Santorum on the other hand was BRILLIANT – He even had Chris Mathews almost getting those trills up and down his leg. Rick Santorum – the Road to the White House is yours to Win or Lose at this point. You gave me hope for America again, and when you campaign in my State – you can count on me to help out. I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one. Rick was lucky enough to catch the caucus during his surge. Had it been earlier the same could be said about Bachman, Newt, Cain, and even each of whom had at one point a surge then a devastating fall. If history continues, it won’t be long before Rick falls, Huntsman surges, and Romny and Paul slowly press on.

Listen and reading his comments concerning states banning birth control, it appears to me that he believes this is a states rights issue not a federal issue. I thought states rights was a center piece to the libertarian philosophy. I happen to be in favor of the Constitution that limits Federal government and strengthens state government.

Anyone else out there feel the same? We live in very dangerous times, the world is much different than it was just 20 years ago. Glenn has now called both Gingrich and Romney progressives, and you have to agree that when it comes to progressives, Glenn is an authority on that subject. The Middle East will be the least of our worries. Glenn explains why in this video that I am linking. Listen to what Glenn tells this woman, listen carefully. Who is Glenn endorsing here. If our country is lost from within then what happens outside will be irrelevant. We went to war with Japan because of Pearl Harbor. We fought Japan for 4 years. We have fought Islamic extremists for 10 years now. Our government no longer even takes islamic extremism seriously anymore. Look at how political correctness now controls TSA and Homeland, heck the foxes are guarding the hen houses there. Look at the lack of attempts to control the border even though they know hundreds of extremists are now using the mexican border as an entry point. Look at our support of muslim extremist revolutions in Egypt and other countries. Now, the government is going into a different phase with the power we gave them. Now they are starting to be use that power to suppress our own people not Muslim extremists. It is Americans that they fear most, not muslim extremists.

Ya because Isolationism works so well… As in it does not. Look the World is an extremely dangerous place. There are people who want to kill us because of who we are, our views, and out over-all prosperity VS that of the rest of the world. You can’t sit there with your fingers in your ears going “LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA not listening” while others hold guns toward you making threats (see Iran, Islamic extremist, China, North Korea Etc..). We have to be out there protecting our interests. If we are not out there then China will be and the ramifications of that for us and the rest of the world is frightening. Non-interventionism in this day and age = Isolationism and an extremely dangerous position for the US and the rest of the world. Sorry if that hurts you but that is the way it is.

Also there is the whole Making it even easier for our kids to have access to drugs that is also truly scary. Sorry Ron Paul’s views there are extremely wrong.
