PETA to Launch Porn Website

I don’t need to tell you that the internet has its share of odd fetish websites.

Now, animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has announced it will be launching a new website; one part graphic footage of animal mistreatment, one part porn. The International Business Times reports on PETA’s latest foray into racy social activism:

“The animal rights organization is apparently looking to capitalize on the newly announced .xxx domain with a ‘pornography site that draws attention to the plight of animals.’

While the group is open about their intentions, other well-known brands such as MTV, Comedy Central, and a slew of other companies are planning to sign up just to protect their trademarks. Certain nonprofits will not have to pay the $200-$300 fee to secure their domains.”

Spokesmen for PETA say that visitors to the site will be presented with the animal rights group’s too hot for TV ads and campaigns, as well as showing how animals suffer for our entertainment. Australia’s Herald Sun reports:

“But PETA’s sexy side displayed in galleries and videos will quickly give way to the sinister world of animal mistreatment uncovered by the group’s hidden camera investigations in a very different kind of graphic content.

‘It’s the kind of thing you often won’t see on TV for instance, because the under cover footage is so graphic and violent that it’s pretty tough to show,’ Ms Byrne said.”

PETA’s past awareness campaigns have encountered obstacles, with some critics saying they are too explicit and others saying they protect animals while exploiting women. This racy PETA telivision ad was banned from being aired during the Super Bowl:

In fact, despite offering millions, networks have turned away sexually suggestive PETA ads in back to back Superbowls. Real Women Against PETA was created on Facebook after after the organization posted a billboard of an obese woman that read, “Save the Whales, Lose the Blubber, Go Vegetarian:”

PETA.xxx is set to launch in December.

The formation of the .XXX domain was approved in March with the intent of streamlining a portion of the Internet exclusively for the adult entertainment industry. GoDaddy.com will charge a $209.99 one-time non-refundable application fee and and a yearly $99.99 renewal fee for the domain, while it charges $11.99 in comparison for .COM domain names. A “Sunrise B” group will pay $199.99 per domain to allow name brands to buy domains with the .xxx, for example Kmart.xxx, to prevent their brand from being associated with porn. Many in the business community have expressed frustration over the high price for .xxx domains, feeling blackmailed to protect their brands.

One of them, apparently, isn’t PETA.

    They probably are porn stars. Radicals at the least. Man has been eating meat for quite a while now. Wonder what their real agenda is here. Collapse the cattle market? The hog market? The poultry market? The dairy market? The American farmers? It cant be because they want people to eat just vegies……judgeing by what they did in calif. with cutting the water off for crops consumed by people. Are they in cahoots with the rest of the progressive traitors that want to destroy America? Looks like it to me. Do these radicals get federal dollars? If they do cut them off. That would be a good start at cutting back on waste. Lotus.

    I just ate two cheeseburgers because of them. I am going to have steak tonight and top it off with ice cream. Just because PETA wants me to go vegetarian. They are idiots, and I don’t listen to idiots.

      Just goes to show how bigoted PETA is also. They want you to eat vegetables right. Well aren’t vegetables living things also. What’s the difference between eating a peach and a steak? They were both living things at one time. So if we did what PETA wanted then we wouldn’t be able to eat anything. Because all things deserve the same rights. So until PETA starts advocating for the rights of plants then I will consider them bigoted people and won’t pay them any attention.

    Every single last one of you are more dimented than PETA for your absence of love and understanding of the responsibility God gave to us to care for and love ALL of his creatures.
    YES.. We hunt we kill and harvest animals for food but the inhumane ways that most if not all of these slaughter factories treat and manage the death of these God given creatures IS DISPICABLE.
    NO! I do not agree with most of PETAS ways but I do agree we need to change the way we harvest these GOD GIVEN TO US FOR OUR PLEASURE what ever that is.. food or companionship.
    should be more compasionite.

      Agreed…it’s a website that will require a subscription. Only those that really want to see this stuff will be paying for access to it. Essentially they’ll be preaching to the converted. I‘m sure they’re going get some militant hollywood starlets to appear “nude” on the site. Those pictures will make their way to the broader internet like they always do. The chicks aren’t even all that hot going by this ad. And if you notice the reflection in the window behind them..they’re covered from behind.
      Seriously…what kind of moron will pay the subscription to oggle these “beauties” while being bombarded by images of animals being slaughtered or experimented on? Typical PETA non-starter.

    PETA always goes overboard….that‘s why they don’t accomplish what they set out to do.(aside from look like kooks) I love animals too, and think many times they have a valid complaint. If they didn’t act like fools and do illegal stuff to get their point across, they could be taken more seriously by most…the average person who’s an animal lover and businesses who are the people that can actually help them make difference. This is just an example of looking like kooks.

      Definitely. And it raises an uncomfortable point about why nudity and happy consensual adult sex are taboo, but extreme and horrific violence in film, tv, and real life ok? The ad is just asking how we can live with killing animals for food, when we know we can survive just as well on veggies without causing such pain and anguish to animals.

      Sigh. I tried to be vegetarian several times. It actually wasn’t difficult at all, but each time, after a few months, I was seduced by the glory of meat. It is so easy to put it out of one’s mind, the suffering of the animal, while you are eating it.
