Philadelphia Grandmother in Critical Condition After Being Struck By Stray Bullet While Sleeping

A 58-year-old grandmother is in critical condition after being shot in the face by a stray bullet that came through her window while the Philadelphia-woman was sleeping. The incident happened in Philadelphia’s german town area, and the woman is now at Einstein Medical Center where doctors are working to remove bone fragments near her spine left by the the bullet that went right through the woman. CBS Philadelphia reports on the tragedy just two days before Christmas:
“It’s heartbreaking,” one neighbor told CBS, “I know those kids. They could have been shot over something stupid. It’s ridiculous.”
Officials with the Philadelphia Police Department say that the bullet that went through her window, and was one of thirteen rounds fired at 100 yards away from her house.
“The neighborhood’s telling us that there’s a silver car that drives by and someone, they won’t tell us who, fires at this car that’s driving by,” Lt. George McClay tells CBS Philadelphia. The shooter responsible for harming the innocent woman has not yet been found. Other bullets damaged two nearby cars, but neighbors are claiming they know little about what happened.
6ABC reports Saturday that investigators say two armed men were firing shots at a passing vehicle after an altercation at a nearby intersection.
The innocent victim has been determined to be Gwendolyn Knox. A friend of the family told 6ABC that the bullet struck Knox in the chin and went through her neck. Knox runs a daycare business from her home. 6ABC reports that a number of kids were in her living room along with Knox’s daughter when the shooting happened.
“I just wish they would stop, because it’s not doing anything but tearing out community apart,” said Cherlyn Ezekiel, one of the people in the living room at the time of the crime, about the gunmen.
Police are still in need of more information about the shooting.

Posted on December 25, 2011 at 7:50amI know I will catch some flack on this one but. I hate to say it’s the Black community. Black on Black crime is on the rise. Even in the City of Pittsburgh crimes against Blacks especially in the inner city is gaining momentum. Most is fostered by drug involvement. The truly sad part it leaves the innocent to bear the cost. For the most part It’s the young black male playing the part of the Gang-banging Gangster who is the culpret. They come from families where the only man present is there to catch a free meal and a booty call. Even sadder a mother who cares more for her welfair check than her kids. Living on a system started by LBJ and other Dem’s prior to keep the Blacks down and dependant. I hate to say this but the truth lies in the pudding. There is a greater sence of slavery now than in the days of the Plantations. Simply people relying on the government to pay their way. Where is Al & Jessie and the NAACP on this? Nowhere! Yes nowhere to be found because they are lining their own pockets on the plight of the poor blacks. Now don’t get me totally wrong there are those who work hard who condem these actions. They deplore what is happening as they try and make a good life for them and their families. Wake up Black America see what the Democrates are doing to you.

People can take two hours a night watch, either in their homes or in a car, get a couple of good binoculars or night vision glasses a couple of camera’s. If you can get enough people to have a24 hour watch so much the better, but at least carry a 9pm to 5am watch. Sometimes you just have to take your neighborhood back yourselves. Police can’t always be there.

The Police are not able to eradicate the thugs because of their fear of punishment from the Lib/Progressive element in the Judiciary of the City. If you cooperate with the Police you are in major danger from the thugs and all the Police can do is come and pick up the bodies when the smoke clears. Philly has descended a long way into the abyss since the days of Frank Rizzo, when good people could walk the streets without fear and the thugs slithered in the dark corners in fear……Just sayin’

Fortunately where I live is still fairly conservative on firearms ownership and I have some hope to be able to hold the thugs at bay until reenforcements can arrive. Wish me luck….Just sayin’
