Turns Out Philly Street Mob is From School That Got $1M From Oprah

A new video of Philadelphia street attacks has surfaced—and this time the teen perps are students from a charter school that received a $1 million donation from Oprah Winfrey, according to Fox 29, which obtained the footage.

The incident occurred July 29—the same day flash mob attacks took place in another section of the city—just blocks from Mastery Charter High School. Students in the video face expulsion or suspension, school officials wrote in a letter to residents in the area where the attack took place.

Sources told Fox 29 that man attacked in the video was hospitalized with injuries to his head and teeth. No charges have been filed so far, police told Fox 29.

“It makes me sick,” said Mastery CEO Scott Gordon.”We’re very very upset about it, that any student, but particularly a student that’s been in a Mastery school, would behave like that, to think that that’s okay, is very disturbing.”

Mastery’s parent company received $1 million from Winfrey last September as part of her Angel Network.

      Its time to address black racism as we have shunned all other racism. Why is rich blacks only help other blacks is not considered racism. If rich whites only gave money to other white that would definitely be considered racist. Now either you give us all equality under the same law and judgments or then why should people adhere to the law or listen to your judgments at all? Why are blacks not called racist when 100 percent of their votes goes to bigger government (its not hard to understand why) that is about taking those who work and giving it to those who don’t? Why aren’t blacks becoming independent thinkers instead of sucking of the teats of the government more and more while their votes are obviously being bought by progressives in government?       Well she set up a great gig in Africa in the girls’ school where students were being abused in various ways. Guess she didn’t vet those staff members well.

      Then she backs Barry O and helps him get elected. That was another goof. Shoulda vetted that one, Oprah.

      And now this? These self-entitled, ungrateful pigs continue to act like…like…like self-entitled, ungreatful pigs!

      I believe Oprah has a huge heart and wants to do good in this world. I just wish she’d be a bit more careful about where her efforts go. Sure coulda saved this country some serious pain.

      Most children only do what they are taught- they don’t respect nor fear authority like when I was a child. If kids don’t have guidance they get angry in their teens. I was one of them (but not violent just liberal) but I had just enough parental guidance that I woke up.

      You are missing her point– As a Christian, if you believe what the bible teaches, then our “fight” is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities that are behind the evil. Some of the posts on this report are not based on the acts of violence, but on the fact that they were black, and because they are black this behavior is expected. That’s like saying all whites act and believe like “Hitler.” It is a broad brush you are using. Condem the acts, bring them to justice, but dont lable an entire group of people by what these teens are doing.

      Hey, I’m all for lableing them thugs! And I’m much agreed in defending your property or family or even someone elses for that matter. Yes, Hilter was one man, but the Natzi party were many white men, and even arabs when the situation was in their interest. The danger I see is labeling an entire race based on the actions of these teenagers. I have friends of all races — They are good people just trying to make a living, raise their families and be productive Americans. Yes, there is a huge problem in the black communtiy as a whole, but also in may other communitys as well. We have allowed God to be taken out of our schools and public life. The family unit is no longer of importance. We no longer teach morals, respect, honor ect….. Those of us that do are in the minority. We as a nation, have a huge problem(s), but we are only going to solve it by going back to the fundimentals –faith/ family/ liberty— and it will take all of us to accomplish it. Just as a side note — the bible teaches that man was created in the image of God and that Jesus came to save all who will repent and accept him as Lord and Savior — He did not specify color.       GONZO, while I usually agree with you, many of these inner-city schools do very well and because of one, hopefully isolated, incident, I hate to see them not supported. It is obviously not the ideals the school is trying to teach. All the hopes and dreams their parents had for them have been flushed down the toilet in one fell swoop.       COSETTE, are you serious? I haven‘t seen this school’s name in connection with a ‘flash mob’ until today. The guilty students should be dealt with quickly and severely but you don’t condemn an entire network of schools because of the students from one school. This was not a school field trip. There are many inner-city schools that produce good citizens who give back so YOU need to get a grip.

      @Grandma- I’m a lifelong resident of PA. I live 60 miles from Philadelphia. I know a little bit about the city. It is a cesspool! As far as the Phila. school system goes, it is a nightmare! Out of the 144 schools on the states’ “failing” list 74 are in the Phila. school dristict That’s almost half. All failing schools are subject to take over by the state if not brought up to par. Many are now being managed by the state. I am not disparaging ALL city schools, that would be preposterous. You are correct, many do a fine job. I am talking about Phila. A city that has turned into a virtual war zone. You have to see it to believe it. It is filthy, malodorous and blighted. Boarded up buildings covered in graffiti are commonplace as are trash strewn streets.In 2002 Mayor John street, a black man, declared “the brothers and the sisters are running the city” He was correct. A once beautiful city, the city of brotherly love, uninhabitable for decent people.

      What is wrong with all you people. Oprah gave the money to the school to enrich the students so they could get a better education. Bill Gates gives millions to schools every year. Do you think there might be a few bad students coming out of those schools too? Just because a few bad apples beat this man up it doesn’t mean the whole school should be put down for it.       COSSETTE, my daughter lived outside Philly with her first husband and wouldn’t go into the city by herself. I went to boarding school in Tyrone – PA is a beautiful state and I am sorry for the plight of Philly. I am sorry for the plight of parents who would like their kids to have a good education and a chance to make something of themselves, thought this school would be that chance, and have now come face to face with the exact future for their kids they were trying to avoid. My heart breaks for them. I don’t disparage you, I just think there is a place for this kind of school and, in alot of cases, they are successful in turning kid’s lives around. I hope some of them will grow into responsible adults and perhaps help the city you obviously love. No malice intended.

    The real question is this: What are they are teaching in that school that would leave children with that kind of mentality of social unrest, lawlessness, and civil disorder?     Time to pull the plug on giving away to kids, time to hand them all brooms and mops and make them do an honest days work and learn what their parents and grandparents did as kids… todays kids are spoiled, no matter their socio-economic status, they are being coddled and spoiled, they have no idea what real work and real respect is, you have to blame the parents and the teachers and society in general, no one automatically deserves anything – you earn it, and if you want more, then you work harder…. Its 3:20am here on the East Coast, I’m working another 18 hour day and doing 2 separate contracts to pay off my bills and try to save up a little bit, it what I do to make ends meet and try to have a small cushion for myself and my family, but I don’t think twice about it, because that is how I was raised.

      I have to agree to a large extent.
      My grandparents were married and supporting themselves in their early, EARLY teens, farming and building their own house!
      Now, we keep our kids on OUR insurance until they are 26?
      Clearly kids will remain irresponsible LONGER as long as we continue to coddle them.
      We are STEALING their productive lives away from them in our our guilt-ridden, hovering, coddling, nanny-state parenting!
      If you WANT to raise a dependent 40-yr-old, you go right ahead. They will most likely NEVER be a productive member of society – and it will be YOUR fault!

      Ask yourself –

      WHY is it okay for a child to be an ACTOR or to DELIVER NEWSPAPERS, or to work in his parent’s business, BUT, it is ILLEGAL for that same child to sweep the floor for someone else in exchange for money?
      Child labor laws are yet more of our nanny-state mentality. They may have had a place or time, but, I see no reason for them today. People are now empowered, know their rights, and have the ability to communicate rapidly and even anonymously.
      Personally, I grew up working EVERY DAY after school, EVERY WEEKEND, and EVERY SUMMER. Yep, I sometimes resent not getting to PLAY all the time, but, I gained an EXTREMELY GOOD/STRONG work ethic as a result.

      People do not appreciate what is HANDED to them.

    These are not “flash mobs.” These are BLACK mobs. The lamestream media is afraid to call them what they really are. Where is Holder and his injustice department? These are hate crime attacks. Whites are being targeted. We must demand that Obama and Holder stop defending “their people” and enforce the hate crime laws that liberals love so much.

      And they are going to hold expulsion hearings? What about assault and battery charges for these thugs? I’m sorry for those who refuse to see that most of the “packs” of teens are black. That’s their mentality. They travel in packs and they attack the same way because they only have courage when they know they can gang up on those who are defenseless. Watch the videos of London carefully. Soon they will only have to change the name of the city to Philly where you will see the same things happening. Take away or reduce the entitlements to these parasites in society and they will do what parasites do, fight for their freebies. Of course, it’s the only time you will see them act on their own behalfs. Heaven forbid you get a job and become a productive citizen like those who support you!

      Obama and Holder will never act against their own, they are fomenting this violence. Make no mistake this is just where they want the country to go.Once the sane people in our country become tired of the violence and defend ourselves, Obama will respond with force on the basis that white racial hatred has to be stopped.

      I just read that there will not be any hate crime charges in Wisconsin. What they do not realize that any time you do not deal equally with people and you favor one race than you are causing a backlash against the race that you are favoring. Which means people will not hire these people that are favored and so on and so on and son. Holder is not doing “his people” any good by acting unjustly. When justice is not served, it will come about another way in society. He is doing unrepairable harm to “his” good people who are trying to work hard and do right. It will all come out in the wash.

    I can see these kids are thankful for everything they have, they need to be suspended from their charter school and spent to work in Haiti, Belize, Guatemala, or even Mexico helping build a school, a water well, or what ever is needed by the poor citizens of the country. If they got an idea how good they have it maybe then they would appreciate what has been given to them. I can not help but wonder if the charter school (along with their parents) is helping to teach them to be thankful what they have instead of what they think they should have, but I guess if they have examples of getting something for nothing then these kids believe they deserve everything. Sad, sad, sad, there is no excuse for their behavior and I do hope they are punished.
