I have to wonder if that too was damaged ,

Beautiful city, as you mention. 7 million people living together in what has to be the most orderly fashion I’ve ever seen of a city of any size. And the history and beauty is everywhere. I’m so saddened by this entire turn of events.

At least that way, we have a chance to recognize the situations before they happen, so maybe they can be prevented or difused without quite as much violence…on the other hand, if people don’t wake up, these things will happen no matter what.
By the way, how come we always hear about evolution, but not de-evolution? Someone made a comment about this in a previous post – great point to touch on :-).

Given what the Brits do after football (soccer) games, it’s no surprise that they know how to riot, but this goes even beyond that. They’re vandalizing their own icons (which had nothing to do with the increase in tuition). Attacking Prince Charles? That’s almost unthinkable. If I’m not mistaken, the kid in the first picture is urinating on a statue of Winston Churchill. It’s completely insane to think that violence has become the answer for these people, and yet here is the proof.
I see more and more of this going on in our work and think, “Why is it so warm, and what am I doing in this hand basket?”

Working is good. There are an awful lot of unemployed out there and alot of them are unemployed by choice. They will not take jobs that are ‘beneath’ them. I had a help wanted sign on one of my work trucks for months and got one application, ONE. I hear people in the news talking about how they will go back to work but they want their old jobs or the equivalent. My neighbor across the street got a job in just three weeks after being laid off. He is a trained a/c man who now waits tables in a diner.

Conservativism is still the in the majority in this country. They may attempt their revolutionary riots here, especially in the liberal haven cities, but it would be impossible to overrun the masses here. I don’t fear these sissy commie rioters in skinny jeans. I fear what happens if the dollar crashes and food becomes scarce. Then even regular Americans are going to become desperate.
