Pitchforks? Dem Senator Uses Violent Metaphor in Tax Hike Fight

I would never be one to declare the casual use of a metaphor as a literal call for a violent uprising. But it is always interesting to play the reversal game. What if Palin had said this? There would be instantaneous demands for her retraction and apology. The downside to this clip is that you have to listen to Sen. McCaskill die 1:40 before the pitchfork call begins. There is plenty of inanity in the first 1:40 though:

    This is a no brainer. There needs to be tax cuts for everyone! And once again the Republicans are going a lousy job of justifying them. We keep hearing about small business owners needing the tax cuts but that is only the tip of the iceberg. I work as an engineer / inventor in the medical device field. And I can tell you there is no venture capital to start new high risk businesses. These business are usually considered high risk because involves technology that still may be in the research stage. These Businesses are funded by venture capitalists or angle investors’ i.e. rich people not banks. When you start taxing the so called “rich people” it has a BIG effect on venture capital. I personally know three patent attorneys that have had all their work dry up. One of them is driving school bus now. There is very little happening in terms funding new projects from the mom and pop inventor, and that is were a lot of your startup businesses come from. This hurts the country in a big way and for a lot of reasons.

      Yessir, you are dead on the money. I am one of the Mom&Pop inventors you speak of. I hold a Patent and have a couple more that were put on hold when the economy collapsed. Since I finance all of it myself, I made the decision to not move forward on several things I was working on at the time. I am a super small fry to be sure, but I have even cut back production of my existing pieces to nearly nothing because of these Idiots we have in Government. I’m far from “Rich” but I don’t NEED the Money bad enough to take any “RISK” at his point with what I do have. I can only imagine what the “Big Boys” are thinking these days. My Patent Attorney is not a Happy Camper by any stretch of the imagination.

      These people have not a “Clue” about how the real world works out here. They want to Raise my taxes, so they can set up their Death Panels and decide that since I’m an Old Fart, I don’t need as much Health Care since I am going to croak pretty soon anyway. They want to be sure that when Levonne CAPS Tyrone in da hood, his insheoence be paid up, and so he can gits da treatment he be needin. Yeah, NOW I’m INSPIRED to take RISKS and get this Economy rolling again!!! NOT!!!!

    Yet, this bozo had no problem with the Dimos borrowing 1 trillion dollars that didn’t help the economy one bit except to line their pockets. Then pass a health care bill that is going to cost the middle class as she puts it even more. But yet she has no problem with the unemployment rate climbing to 10%. This Dimo is really lamo. She really needs to quit peroxiding her hair. It’s seeping into her brain.

    What I don’t get is how anyone could stand there with a straight face and admit that our tax code is f#### up and her only solution is – is to take more money from the people who have it. She is a joke. I am sick and tired of “funny” math. What kind of idiot does not know that if we were all assessed the same percentage that the people with more money would be paying more. No No No lets do funny math and not only make them pay more, but lets make it out to be evil for even thinking about keeping any of their money.

    Both sides need to start looking at the real problem and that is the tax code itself! That woman wants us to fund her salary? she better start providing some type of service and self serving does not cut it IMHO.

      claim a bunch of dependents during the yr, and dont pay taxes out of each paycheck.

      at the end of the yr, file as normal, with the normal dependants

      @walkwithme: If you actually paid attention to the conservative movement and the tea party, you would know that many of us would like a flat or fair tax, smaller government, (meaning fewer government agencies, fewer entitlement programs, fewer government employees, NO czars), and less intrusion by the government in our everyday lives. With less beaurocracy, we would need less taxes and have more freedom. So if that means saying “NO” every time a progressive wants to raise taxes, create new beaurocracies or diminish our rights and freedoms…then that is fine by me! We DO stand for returning our Constitution to its original intent. If you are not FOR our Constitution as our founding fathers intended it, then you are AGAINST it…and are therefore unamerican in my book. If the shoe fits…

      Barring an unforeseen windfall for the Dems, ol’ “Common Sense” Claire (as she is derisively known here in Missouri) is toast in 2012. She she appears to be clueless as to her lack of popularity here. Her election in 2006 was a fluke. That year was bad for Reps in general, and she was running against Jim Talent, who, in his 6 years in the Senate, had kept such a low profile that he was a virtual unknown. I think she really believes that by being a very visible and outspoken supporter of BO, she will coast back into office.

As a small business, who do you think I get my materials from? Somebody smaller? When you give him the biggest tax hike in history, what do you think happens to my cost?       One thing I am sure of, No matter what side of the isle they sit on (democrat or republican) these elitists no longer represent US. We were to be their “interest”, but to deny that we aren’t “special” enough to them is to deny we breath.

      Claire McCaskill has no room to rant and rave, just like Alan Grayson. She married her money, she never earned it and her worth in 2008 was 19.42 million. Her husband got his money by building low income housing projects (like Rezko and Davis in Chicago who Obama provided with rent-subsidy fund that gave them a steady stream of income). If you are interested, I found on http://www.redstate.com, a rundown of Joseph Shepard (husband 2002) an article titled “Slums, Drugs and Spousal Abuse” which pretty much says it all. Shepard‘s oldest child’s (30 yrs old) name is Benjamin Ghandi Shepard and his son’s name is Amir Ghandi Shepard. McCaskill and her husband were the only Missourians invited to Obama‘s first state dinner and it’s obvious why.

      How about ending all the tax loopholes and scams. Pretty easy. This class warfare these idiots keep pushing is very dangerous grounds.       Obama has plans for the tax $$ from the rich already, the high speed rail. Goes for a whole 80 miles. He said so, when asked if $$ from rich would go to pay debt. He said “I have plans for that money already.”
