Piven: Violence Is Okay if It‘s a ’Big Part of Your Strategy’

In a way the least interesting part of this clip may be the part in the headline. Frances Fox Piven, of Cloward-Piven infamy (see James Simpson’s analysis here), is talking about the Deacons of Defense and their role in the Civil Rights movement. She seems to be saying that the group was a proponent of violence rather than active defenders:

Two excerpts via NZPatriot:

“I have considerable respect for non-violence, but I don’t treat it as inevitably a necessary rule. The reason I have respect for non-violence, is I think it helps to protect the protesters.”

“Unless you have good reason for breaking the window, probably you shouldn’t do that. Unless it’s you know, a big part of your strategy.”

Analysis via YourDaddy’s Politics:

Had I not researched the Deacons a bit more and you read the rest of this article and watched Piven spew her hatred for America you would not have known these Deacons were armed militia that did not incite violence but defended against it.

The article referred to there is this one:

During a desegregation effort at the Jonesboro High School, the authorities brought up fire trucks and prepared to hose the black students attempting to enter the school. The Deacons pulled up and four men publicly loaded shotguns and then made it plain that the lead was for the firemen if they turned the hoses on. The firemen wisely beat a retreat.

This was a very significant event. This was a self-defense effort in the spirit of the American War for Independence. The government was attempting to exercise illegitimate power (enforcing an unbiblical law which by this time also violated federal law) and it was repulsed by the use of community force — by the militia, if you will.

The Deacons were in the great tradition of American freedom — liberty is not given by tyrants and thugs, it is wrested from their hands by force.

Breaking windows, destroying the property of others, physically harming others and using cohersion to intimidate someone is against the law. It is clear that she – and those who she inspires – have absolutely no respect for the law.

Ms. Pivien is intellectionally and morally dishonest on every level. The first rule that she lives by is to create or manufacture a crisis or take advantage of a tragedy. The second is to have “cadres of aggressive organizers” and the third is “the end justifies the means”.

The whole cycle does nothing but “use people” to reach the stated objective of Clower & Piven strategy which to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

The saddest part is that they “use” the very people they proclaim to help. ACORN, SEIU, many inner-city leaders, race-baiting orgainzations and eco-terrorist, etc. do little if nothing to solve the real problems of their constituents. If they did, things would be getting better not worse.

Finally after 30-40 years of being lied to and the main-stream-media becoming more irrelavent, the pendulum is swinging the other way. Americans are waking up to the fundamental truths. Integrity, honesty and accountability (not blaming) will be the hallmark of the next real leaders of this nation.

Just look at this administration and all the progressives that have been popping up lately, they are all in the government or professors.

The sooner we all wake up and realize the current progressive movement underfoot is an attempted coup d’état upon our Nation and not just some “ideology” difference, the sooner this “transformation” can be put down. Let’s not pretend this “movement” just happened my accident – the stars and planets lined up or the current administration (elected officials/czars/legal bench) who are in place and abusing their positions are doing it in the best interests of our Nation or it’s people!

This is a flat out in out coup (albeit) a coup of deception/theft/misrepresentation, but a coup none the less – eventually we have to conclude violence, the removal of our Constitutional rights or National Sovereignty will take place. This isn’t a simple debate of ideas or a trend in which our Nation has elected to go. We are on the precipice of tyranny that has/is taking power through deception rather than the lawful use of representation and majority republic decision. The “progressive” enemies of our Nation have been waging a war against our freedom for some time. Our system has slowly been bastardized by the very people who were entrusted to protect it (on all levels). These same people are now seizing power and enacting illegal laws against We The People. The time is upon all citizens to heed the call of freedom and remove these autocratic charlatans.

Well stated, OUTLAND9: There is a second witness to this condition we find the government in today. When a group of people conspire to subvert the government and suceed the country will collapse. The Mormons have a book that tells of such a collapse. The times were different but pride, lust for power and evil do not change. Read the from Helaman to the end of the Book of Mormon and you will see parallels to our day. You don’t have to embrace the religion but notice the similarities of the Gadianton robbers to our present day situation. There is a way out, however, and it is plainly stated in the book. And yes, I am a Mormon.

This is a typical example of the American Communist Myopia. They have held their Government Franchise on Violence for so long now, that they cannot grasp the concept of anyone else daring to employ it to resist the Progressives. But from firsthand experience, I can tell you that “Violence” is a double edged sword that cuts equally well in both directions. And once it becomes available to both sides of any given dispute, the winner will be decided solely by the level of commitment present on that side.

      Cowface,

I can’t give you a “cite” for it, I read it in the early 70s when I was digging for information on the “History” of the automatic transmission. But at that time, my only interest was in designing and building transmissions for Top Fuel and Funny Cars, so it was just some “Odd Knowledge” that floated to the top, never really thought much about it. But that being said, in reflecting on all the “Engineers” I’ve been exposed to in the last 40 years, most of the really good ones, were at least a half a bubble off level, if not downright Certifiable.

I remember when the Manson Murders were an item on the evening news. The whole deal, including his half baked theories were absolutely beyond the pale. The stuff the “Twilight Zone” was made of. But as they say, “Hindsight is twenty-twenty”. And I won’t be a bit surprised if it all ends up being back on the evening news again here shortly.

I own a home in Pittsburgh and I was furious that people came here (G-20) and caused so much damage. The ringleaders who did the most (in dollar cost and actual destruction of property) damage were mostly from Canada, some from other states and countries, but Canada was the largest gang of goons, at least according to the police, the majority of those arrested were Canadians. We don’t need or want that garbage comiing here to incite these college kids to violence. We certainly don’t go to Canada and break up their towns. We have never had anything like that happen here, not even when the unions were inciting all the crapola which eventually shut down all the steel mills. I‘m sure our kids aren’t angels, but I am 51 and have never seen anything like what happened. Not that the govt gives a crap what we think, but we who own property here don’t ever want to see anything like that here again. Say all you want about food and hotel sales, but those who made all the money didn’t pay anything toward the damage. We had to do that ourselves, This is and always has been a fairly safe place to live and prosper, We don‘t have much of the problems of other larger cities and aren’t used to that kind of garbage coming here to do harm and we don’t want to get used to it. Keep that garbage where it belongs. It doesn’t belong here. Let them stay wherever they live and break up their own homes and towns. Sorry for the rant.

She thinks like a muslim does about the Christian world…

If it exists at all, you must defend your ‘way of life’ by attacking until the existential threat is extinct…

Oh she has clue if only she had the courage to act instead of sitting on the pulpet preaching to others to be violent. She is a coward and an evil woman.

She needs to re-study her history . . . of Nazi Germany, of Soviet Russia, of Cuba, Mao’s China. Better yet, let’s give her a one-way ticket to Cuba, or Venezuala, maybe even Somalia or Iran. I wonder if she’d change her tune, then.

In fact, what Francis is saying here is that she recognizes that violence has ocurred from all sides in history and that it has helped in many cases to move particular movements forward. For example, had African American people in places like Birmingham not fought back physically against the white mobs and police forces there and throughout the country, civil rights may have not moved forward. Piven is not embracing violence, but stating that it is sometimes necessary for action.

You forget that we are a country at war at this very second — and are strategically using violence right now for the purpose of strategy and gain. If you disagree with Piven, then you also disagree with war in general. To all those pacifists, who may truly call themselves just that, then you have a point. For everyone else, take a look at your own beliefs.

Personally, I think calling her that is an insult to the real Queen of the Damned. I think that Lucipher would have better taste.

What’s sad is this is the type of person that is teaching our youth. The type of people that are running our country. This is what you get when you don’t have God in your life. Just flat out evil.
