Planes Be Warned: Aircraft Violating No-Fly Zone for Chicago NATO Summit Could Be Shot Down

FAA Advisory Warns Small Planes of No Fly Zone with Shoot to Kill Mandate Over Chicago During NATO Summit

Airspace within 10 nautical miles of downtown Chicago will be highly restricted with other rules imposed on an "outer ring" as well. (Photo: Wikimedia)

From May 19 to 21 during the NATO Summit in Chicago, a no-fly zone will be issued by the Federal Aviation Administration to protect dignitaries and world leaders attending the event. Whats more, the local CBS affiliate reports this also comes with a “shoot-to-kill mandate” for those who may fly into restricted airspace.

Watch the report:

This restriction includes areas within 10 nautical miles of downtown and flying below 18,000 feet. The Chicago Sun Times reports scheduled commercial and cargo planes, as well as “police, ambulance and military aircraft supporting the Secret Service” will be cleared within this zone. The Times reports an “outer ring” will also have restrictions. Here’s more from the FAA advisory it obtained:

“The United States Government may use deadly force against the airborne aircraft if it is determined that the aircraft poses an immediate security threat.”

FAA Advisory Warns Small Planes of No Fly Zone with Shoot to Kill Mandate Over Chicago During NATO Summit

The Times notes this is not the first time flight restrictions have been imposed in the city. Small planes have been restricted from the airspace around President Barack Obama’s South Side home when he is visiting.

Last month, low-flying military helicopters with men holding machine guns were spotted weaving in and out of downtown skyscrapers. It was speculated the military exercise was in practice for the NATO event but a press release warning downtown businesses and residents said it was part of a routine exercise. Even if this was not in preparation for the mid-May event that will bring in hundreds of world leaders, Occupy supporters have been preparing for protests, which the Blaze has reported some in the city have been warned about, some going as far to suggest they leave for fear of violence. The Blaze also reported on a leaked email from the Red Cross that shows the organization is preparing for violent protests.

Why do they not simply just move the location of the summit to a nice place out in the ocean or the desert or somewhere they can be out of harms way and not be endangering the general public? Also save on all the military cost……………Oh yea ,,,,,I forgot that would be too practical.

so by that logic can a plane that goes on another persons air space that is on a persons property by shot down by the owner? perhaps so by the logic and by some state laws.

Endangering innocent people on the ground, that makes as much sense as anything else the government does. I guess the people at NATO are more important than us hard working folks on the ground that actually pay for these useless freeloaders.

This is a fairly normal warning given out, although the administration can push just hard hard penalties go.
Ideally the Air Force does not want to shoot down an aircraft that could mistakenly be in the zone as the wreckage has to “come down” if such a shoot down happens. Falling wreckage can be just as much a danger. So much more likely he “stray aircraft” will be given a terse warning and unless the aircraft is accessed to be a real threat, it will be escorted out of the airspace and harsh penalties could be given once the crew is on the ground.
Private pilots are suppose to get a pilots report and file a flight plan when flying over a certain mileage but many do not. Not getting a heads up from the local FAA office leads to stray aircraft in temporary specialty airspace zones and sometimes private pilots do get into trouble.

Not for anything but NATO has the technology to listen to conversations in a car from satellites from space, can follow terrorists with DRONES all without a pilot and controlled via a joy stick manipulated thousands of miles away, has smart bombs that literally can make 90 degree turns to follow the street grid of an enemy city, yet these same folks do not have the smarts to say, “Hey, instead of meeting in person and risking life and property, let’s teleconference.” I guess technology that is 20 years old and much cheaper to operate is beneath NATO. Sometimes, the smartest among us are the dimmest.

Tyranny pure and simple. Masses protesting the ABUSES of them by these 1% is not to be tolerated!!! shoot them kill them, Stalin/Mao/Hitler/Castro style. Squash the miserable taking up too much space masses, useless tools. Says the G20 bottom feeders.
Question is WILL AMERICANS KILL AMERICANS for these bottom feeders??? Or have the bottom feeders put in place foreign troops who love to kill Americans(you know, like the Taliban who killed US soldiers and are now negotiating with the bottom feeders for POWER to control the M.E……..‘Operation Enduring Freedom’ with Taliban as leaders!!!! is the end result!!!.
12K US soliders dead for NOTHING! AMERICANS WAKE UP …….do not hurt each other for these criminal bottom feeders. ARREST everyone of them at this G meeting. ROUND THEM UP. They are a cancer on humanity. Got terminal illness? don’t commit suicide….do the right thing. Make it count.

Intentional airspace violations are subject to whatever corrective action is necessary, including being removed by fighter jet. This is always true – and it was true on 9-11.
