‘Pleather Yourself’: PETA Launches Its Own…Porn Site?!

Ever since it began using scantily clad models and porn stars to make opaque arguments regarding the treatment of animals, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have become less an advocacy group and more a politically correct substitute for fetish porn. Now, they’re not even trying to hide that character.
You see, in the wake of the decision by porn sites to use the .xxx extension (as opposed to, say, .com) PETA recently took the liberty of purchasing the domain name Peta.xxx. Yes, that’s right. PETA now runs its own porn site. Gizmodo reports:
Collecting all of its adult content in one easy-to-access place is sure to gain PETA some extra attention. The site has enough adult content to qualify for the .xxx domain, but also some other graphic images of animals that viewers may not expect to see, PETA’s Lindsay Rajt told the Huffington Post.
Sure enough, beside a button marked “Sexy Photos” that brings up a page of lingerie-clad ladies holding PETA signs, is another marked “Hardcore Videos”—hardcore videos yes, but not the kind you may be used to. This page features videos of various types of animal cruelty: factory farms, abused circus animals, scientific testing, etc.
Peta.xxx is perhaps the only example of porn and animals coming together, in socially acceptable, morally non-repugnant way—except, perhaps, for the furry fetishists of the world.
And the worst part? They have enough supporters in the adult film community who are willing to model for them that said porn site is probably one of the more star studded (relatively speaking) porn sites on the net. The site itself (Warning: Extremely NSFW) includes photos of such celebrity porn stars as Jenna Jameson, Ron Jeremy and Sasha Grey, each posing in photos with catchy slogans (“Pleather yourself” on an ad for synthetic leather, “Too much sex can be a bad thing” on ads pushing for spaying and neutering).
Most of the material is so explicity that we can’t reproduce it here out of concern for any child readers. However, this physically non-explicit video of Ron Jeremy welcoming viewers to the site should give readers a feel for the general tenor of the thing:

Posted on June 7, 2012 at 5:18pmSeriously, I don’t want animals to suffer. The Bible places Man as stewards over this earth – to use it wisely and to care for it. Rules were given for the humane butchering of animals – it is forbidden to eat a limb of a living animal. I take that to include that the animals should be treated humanely during their life as well. Conditions in some of the factory farms ARE terrible, leading not only to suffering but disease and an inferior product; it is in the farmers’ best interest to treat his animals well.
Caring for the earth. Learn from history – the condition of the air in London or NY in the 1800′s due to coal use was horrible. We have learned – and continue to learn – out of necessity, how to more efficiently and cleanly burn fossil fuels. CO2 is a pollutant? How can something necessary for plants to flourish using its chlorophyll to produce carbs and O2 be a pollutant… unless they are inferring that MAN is a pollutant? (The DO have plans to reduce our numbers dramatically and this is their justification.) A single volcano will emit more pollutants than man ever could… the climate change furor is just a means for political control over people. This planet has been much hotter and also a lot cooler, and it will be again, folks. HOW arrogant to think WE did it.
