Pledge-Altering Congresswoman Believes al-Qaeda No Longer a Threat

Yes, you heard that right. Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN) said last week that al-Qaeda no longer posses a threat to the United States. As the video above shows, many top-ranking officials disagree.
But wait, there’s more.
Thanks to Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey who brings us this ABC news clip (from yesterday) explaining a very real threat from…al-Qaeda:
Even London’s Daily Mail recognizes the threat, especially from “homegrown” terrorists:
Homegrown al Qaeda terrorists may now pose the biggest threat to America, defence sources claimed today.
Intelligence experts believe Americans have now risen to the very top of Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network.
With their innate knowledge of the country’s psyche and the ease with which they can travel the country without being detected, the U.S. passport-carrying terrorists have become a nightmare for counter-intelligence agents.

Perhaps we can get her a seat at the Mexican border where first hand she may observe Al-Qaeda (Islamic extremists etc) methodologies. Things like decapitation, car bombs et al. Al-Qaeda means ‘the base’—base is the point of origin. Bases have many tentacles. A weed by any other name is still a weed–or something like that.

On the scared side you have information that tells you that there are 1.5 billion muslims in the world and they are taking over, violently.
