Plumbers’ Fetus Discovery in a Sewer Pipe Leads to Philly Police Investigation

Fetus Discovered in Sewer Pipe by Philadelphia PlumbersA disturbing discovering in a sewer pipe on Monday has led to a Philadelphia police investigation. In the city’s Kensington neighborhood, contractors working on a clogged toilet found the remains of a human fetus. Philly.com reports:

Two plumbers opened a pipe in the basement of a home in the 800 block of East Russell Street about 4 p.m. and found the remains while removing debris from a pipe leading to a second-floor toilet, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

They dialed 911, and responding officers and investigators determined the remains were human, Small said.

The fetus was about 6 inches long and showed no signs of decomposition, he said.

While authorities aren’t yet sure how developed the baby was, they estimate that it was between three and four months in the development stage. Aside from looking into how the baby made its way into the sewer pipe, police will be doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

“It may not be a crime scene,” says Chief Inspector Scott Small. “We’re still going to look into how developed the child was. But at this point it appears that someone may have had a miscarriage.”

Authorities, though, are still exploring the possibilities. Police have already interviewed a couple in their 60s who live in the house to determine if anything criminal took place. The couple’s adult daughter, who neighbors say they do not believe was pregnant and who also lives in the home, wasn’t there when investigators arrived. It is possible, officials claim, that a pregnant woman was renting a room at the home.

A “for rent” sign is currently outside — which causes one to wonder if this theory holds merit. Investigators will continue to explore who else may have been on the property of late.

What crime, this procedure is in obama-care. Hell, the plummer could be charged with interfering with a medical procedure or practicing medicine with out a licence.

I would think members of congress would being doing high fives and chest bumps.

Of course the dark overlords of the EPA will want to see the licence for dumping organic waste.

The real problem is, JJ, that it’s all too honest a comment, as well. How can the police claim a crime has been committed when it‘s perfectly ’legal’ to have an abortion? Honestly, what crime has been committed? They can‘t call it ’murder’ and try someone for it unless they want also to try every abortion doctor. It’s a catch 22 for lawyers, for sure.

Even if that were true, you’ve no knowledge of whether or not it was a miscarriage or purposeful abortion that resulted in this fetuses premature birth.

Lots of people have miscarriages. I had two at 13 weeks each (that’s 3 months). In my case, I had to go to the hospital each time to have a surgical abortion because I was bleeding to death, but that’s another story. The babies were no longer alive, I wanted them, but it was just not to be. I have two wonderful kids right now, and if God ever blessed me with a third, I would be delighted.

How do you know what she felt? If it was a natural miscarriage, what was she supposed to do with it? After I arrived at the hospital when I was having my first miscarriage, a lot of stuff came out. I’m sure that all of that ended up in the medical waste bin. It was an awful time. Until we know the whole story, there is nothing here to indicate any wrongdoing or wrong spirit.

MIscarriages happen all the time, much more often than we think. Women miss a period and then have one the next month, but never think about it. Likely, a miscarriage. We can mourn this, but there is no need to investigate every single one of them, that is foolish. Now, when a doctor inserts razor sharp instruments into the womb in a direct effort to kill the live human being inside, that is not homicide either, that is murder. When a woman takes a pill to kill a fertilized fetus, that is murder.

They should test the body for the known abortion chemicals, and then imprison the woman who is found guilty. And any men that helped her do it, too.

That’s what I was going to say–and also that abortion is neither of those, for in order to commit murder/homicide, one must have a man/person (a HUMAN) to kill. A fetus, lacking consciousness, is not a human–at best it has the potential to become a human.

Ok, people lets not jump to conclusions. Women who are unfamiliar with labor do mistake the pain for feeling like the need to have a BM. I know somebody who had that happen and she was pretty far along at the time. If the fetus was very small, who knows?

Everyone just say a prayer for all parties involved.

I have looked at all current 17 posts and this one actually reflects how I feel…….
I am currently working through a situation with a woman who is 24; her mother of record had died and her father produced adoption papers. The birth mother of this lady listed me as the biological father.

I become increasingly frustrated because these issues are being muddied by all parties.
The solution is actually simple: the government needs to BUTT OUT. The involved parties need to sit down with family, medical, and spiritual advisers; and decide what they are going to do.

25 yrs ago this biological mother ripped my heart out. I was a drunk. She, after a 2wk discussion, got what she wanted; an abortion. She insisted I go with her. There I ran into an acquaintance who informed me that ‘my woman’ was almost turned down. The reason: this was her FOURTH abortion! we did not last long after this. She left, turned up in Florida, pregnant again. She claimed the baby was mine and wanted information for the authorities. I wrote her back telling her to have them get in touch with me. I never heard from her.
My potential daughter found me through the web; we together tried to contact the mother. We heard nothing for five months. She pops up on the web; the same as way back then.

Take a HARD CLOSE look at your own toilet bowl. Anything that passes through would not be an abortion nor a murder. This story is about a very sad, very tragic event in a womans life; – a little compassion

Well, the fetus COULD be the result of an improvised abortion–but either way I wouldn’t find the mother morally blameworthy for anything. It is her RIGHT not to become a mother when she does not want to be one. We do not have a right to decide to NOT be parents once we are them, but we MUST have the right, if we have ANY right, to determine WHEN we will be parents ON OUR OWN TERMS, and NO ONE else’s. Not conservatives, not the Catholic Church’s, not the Protestant Church’s, or the Mosque’s, or the Synagogue’s terms. and not God’s terms even–but OUR terms. If we don’t have THAT right, the right to SELF-DETERMINE biological reproduction, then what rights DO we have?

I lost my son at 13 weeks at home, and it is possible that the unknown woman could have suffered a miscarriage, but did not go to the hospital. It is not required to report a miscarriage as far as I know, especially that early in the pregnancy. It is very sad indeed, but hardly criminal from what was reported. People should not be so quick to jump to the conclusion that this was an abortion or homicide. If this is a miscarriage, and the woman did not get follow-up care, I hope she did not have any complications. Serious infections, among other problems, can stem from a miscarriage. I’ll pray for this precious baby and the mother who lost her child.

The woman that lost this Gift from God must surely be suffering Mental Anguish and physical pain. I am forgiving in my nature. May God heal her heart and body. And give her a vision of peace and wellness. I pray she is held up and given prayer as she is in her hour and moment of need. And it is all Christians to not judge this woman but to help her in this time of distress and anguish .. And I pray these words in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ and Savior, For thine is the Glory and this is my heart. May God Bless us all… And I am in every day thankful for God’s patience with me.
