NEW YORK (The Blaze/AP) — About 80 people were arrested Saturday as demonstrators who were camped out near the New York Stock Exchange marched through lower Manhattan, police said.

The “Occupy Wall Street” protest is entering its second week. Demonstrators said Saturday they were protesting against bank bailouts and the mortgage crisis; some also held signs decrying Georgia’s execution of Troy Davis, who was put to death Wednesday for the 1989 slaying of an off-duty Savannah police officer.

At Manhattan’s Union Square, police tried to corral the demonstrators using orange plastic netting. Some of the arrests were filmed and activists posted the videos online. One video appears to show officers using pepper spray on women who already were cordoned off; another shows officers handcuffing a man after pulling him up off the ground, blood trickling down his face.

Police say the arrests were mostly for blocking traffic. Charges include disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. But one demonstrator was charged with assaulting a police officer. Police say the officer involved suffered a shoulder injury.

Protest spokesman Patrick Bruner criticized the police response as “exceedingly violent” and said the demonstrators sought to remain peaceful.

A police spokesman had no comment about the videos or the arrests.

    Of course they are falsely making these claims, its in their instructions on how to react when the police come to arrest them, they are to drop on the ground, not walk or stand, to flail, scream, complain that their cuffs are too tight, they are sick, can’t breathe… to make any and all commotion possible, then to give out their names for some bogus defense lawyer group to jump to their behalf to sue the police and city… its my hope that whomever and whatever law firm that is stupid enough to help these dirtbags loses their bar and they in turn are sued by the city.

      Indeed, they will use any staged event — as you said, being told how to respond to the police — for the furthering of their own agenda. These events will only grow in co-ordination, control, and violence on the part of the protesters…until finally they get what they want, and that is complete chaos in the system enabling the administration to come down in force upon ALL of us.

      Expect more and more morons like Michael Moore to make their threats of force against bankers and the communities; more pressure on the police and people with greater usage of force, and the like up to the elections.

      Before then though, I say the chances are high for Mr Obama to up and declare martial law.

      There is definitly one other thing to consider watching for as well; a scenario where some state leader calls up their national guard units for riot duty to protect key state government locations, and then orders them to fire upon the protesters — giving them exactly what they want.

      Did you guys not see what they were doing? Yes they want Socialism, but they were also protesting against the BIG Bank Bailouts. The bailouts were just another tax on everyone. It was a way to let the banks run up the tab, so their owners (the Federal Reserve) could erase the debt to themselves, by using an eraser on the fake checkbook. They used the Government money, which was loaned at interest (again) from the Fed, so they get to start collecting interest on it again. So they erase what they owed, then started charging the American people for it to start over again. Whether youre a socialist or a conservative, or a capitalist, this is going to destroy our country. Atleast they were trying to stop it, even if theyre belief system is wrong…what are you doing?

      Way to go NYPD!!!! The only way to teach these freaks to crawl back into the holes they came from, is to cave their heads in……The creeping political correctness that has developed in this nation, along with the decay of religion and morality is what has allowed abominations like these people to be created and fester…..and it’s time to rid ourselves of such worthless people.

      I spent years serving this country and was twice wounded in doing it. I was proud to protect the upright, moral, hardworking and honest citizens, but it also bothered me that in I was also obligated to protect wothless freaks like these people. It’s difficult to risk your life to protect a group of “people” that you know would not only refuse to help if you were laying in a ditch dying, but would probably laugh at you as well. This country is having its back broken by supporting and tolerating the worthless, lazy and immoral people who are also coincidentally the ones supporting the Communists and radicals in our govt that are attempting to destroy and enslave us.

    I reviewed the video of the women getting a pepper spray over and over using click/pause (I wish Youtube had slow motion) and it looks like the officer that sprayed them was in light colored uniform while the officers setting up the pen where all wearing dark uniforms. The interesting thing was that the light clothed officer and some partners walked up to the pen from the crowd, sprayed the women and walked away. It almost looks like a set up. I wonder if it was even pepper spray…

      As I said, they were dressed in uniform, but were not part of the group of officers working the pen. If you watch closely they walk up, spray and then walk away in to the crowd. I just think that is suspicious behavior. It makes me wonder if they were truly cops or people with fake uniforms or what. It could be real cops or and act. I’m just saying…

      In regard to the pepper spray incident ,it looks like protesting isn’t near as glamorous as it seemed when they were sitting around the dorm room (their parents pay for )smoking pot , talking about how unfair capitalism is or was it their parent’s basement where she has lived since she dropped out of college because it was cutting into her partying time .Spoiled brats.

      The guy in the white shirt not only just comes out of nowhere, he walks away into the crowd and then can been seen hurrying away in the upper left crowd near the end of the video. The whole thing looks incredibly strange.

      The guys in the white shirts are gold shield officers. In some departments gold shields are Sergeant and higher. In others, Lieutenant and higher. Take a look at the first still photo. It shows a gold shield Lieutenant in a white shirt and a service hat with gold emblems.

      No conspiracy. Just gold shields mucking around. The penned protesters didn’t need to be pepper sprayed.

      In the 3rd video segment, the officer used a classic takedown hold used on unarmed aggressive indviduals. My problem is the video didn’t show a reason to take the kid down. The cause may have been before the beginning of the shot.

    Here is a list of things the protesters should really be doing:
    1) take a shower
    2) make a resume.
    3) stop smoking pot
    4) stop other drug use
    5) look for a job (after they get off the drugs)
    6) stop believing in fasle social heirarchies (Marxism)
    7) help out others in REAL need
    8) thank the police officers for keeping them safe at night
    9) read more
    10) move to some other country that believes in that @(#! and see how they are treated then!

      It‘s hard to believe that I’m actually seeing this kind of ignorance again during my lifetime. This is so reminiscent of the 60′s. All the over aged radical hippies from the 60′s must be so proud of their grandchildren right now. The rest of us, however, are disgusted. I pray that these misguided children wake up one day, because socialism and communism will destroy everything they have and want to become.

    I really can’t see how they are sticking it to the man, if they wouldn’t behave like tired, bratty three year olds, and stop thrashing about when arrested, they wouldn’t be hurting themselves. They are goin to end up in the paddy one way or another, all that throwng themselves about and bloodying themselves is just making them look more spoiled and stupid.
    Their parents are probably glad to get a break from all the noise and pot smoke creeping upstairs from the basement.

So,while Harry Reid continues to purchase the things that America really can’t afford right now,America’s economic engine is about ready to blow. The problem is,Harry won’t be the one walking.     What I see in these videos is a bunch of 20-somethings who have never had any responsibility in their life and never had to grow up. It‘s almost as if the Left wants to relive the 60’s with all their “peaceful” protests. All though, I don‘t see what’s so peacful about yelling and screaming and flailing about.

      I thought once I got out of the military that I would be putting all the nitty gritty rules and regulations behind me. Not so! We have become a society based on government mandated regs that came about because we lack personal responsibility and also because of the rise of the ambulance chasing lawyers in this country. When morals go away, the laws must be increased to deal with what is tunring towards anarchy. Our police forces have turned into small Armies esp LA. Why? Because America is no longer good! American can no longer govern its self as we at the individual level have lost any sense of what is right and what is wrong. So as a result, the society is crumbling, social welfare has risen and because of these things we have ushered in and era in which a liberal such as BHO can be elected. He is the true lawless one among us.

      I remember in the 50′s in school, we were shown a film where mice were allowed to reproduce and it showed the changes in the community. At a certain point, it became agressive and it was every mouse for itself. Total chaos. Everyone attacking each other and dead mice everywhere. Well!! It.s here. Last man standing……LOSES!!!!
