Police said they’ve arrested the suspect captured on video using a machete in an attack at a New Jersey chicken restaurant.
The arrest came just five days after police in Paterson, N.J. posted the violent footage on Facebook in the hopes of getting a lead on the perpetrator. Two other suspects in the attack had already been arrested.
According to police, the trio attacked two victims in separate incidents at the U.S. Chicken Restaurant September 10.
“Both attacks were unprovoked, as far as we could see. Nothing was taken in the second attack,” Paterson Police Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez told CBS New York.

CBS reported:
In the first case, the victim, seen on the video wearing a white shirt with a black insignia on the top left corner, was attempting to walk out of the restaurant when he was confronted by two men in the doorway. While they talk, police say Omar Villota, 22, comes up behind him and pistol whips him in the back of the head. The trio tumble into the street.
Then things get worse.
A few minutes later, the group comes tumbling back into the restaurant, this time struggling with a second victim. The second victim is seen on tape being repeatedly punched in the face, allegedly by 20-year-old Johel Gomez. Police said Tyree Seegers, 22, then started hacking at the second victim with a machete.
According to police, Seegers is seen on the tape hacking at the victim at least 14 times with the machete. During one of his swings, he chops into Villota, who is continually pistol-whipping the victim. Seegers nearly severs Villota’s right arm, leaving a blood trail that the cops used to track them down.
Police said Seegers turned himself in Wednesday morning after the video was posted online.
“We turned to Facebook for help,” Rodriguez said. “Seegers turned himself in because he felt all this pressure from everywhere.”
Police are still looking for the first victim. The second victim survived, only because Seegers was inept with the machete.
“The one time he swung it straight and effectively, he hit his own counterpart, his own friend,” Rodriguez said.

I believe it‘s time to take an honest look at ’Open Carry’ laws Nation wide.
Maybe have an “Open Season” also.
Also, dig a giant hole for the whole hood.

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 9:09pmI am pro gun rights but I would like to know how come with so many legitimate and legal gun permits and carrying permits not only in NJ but across the USA, that there are rarely stories of citizens thwarting a massacre like this or stopping any criminal from beating or killing others??? I always hear people saying that ‘if they were there……” but with the millions of legal permits out there, I rarely hear of one of you super-heroes stepping up and saving the day…..Hmmmmm – just wondering………

How about these?
Raven Smith leaves his gun in the vehicle before he goes into a restaurant, but something made him reconsider. The CCW permit holder kept his .380 handgun holstered as he stepped out of the car to have dinner with his girlfriend. Before he’d taken three steps, a masked man rushed up behind his girlfriend with what appeared to be a gun. “Get down, get down!” Smith yelled to his girlfriend as he fired four shots. His girlfriend calls him her hero, adding, “I saw orange flashes over my head. And then my ears were ringing.” (St Petersburg, VA 08/08)
Stopping at an intersection, a motorist noticed a man approaching. The man reached through the window and punched him several times. The motorist reached for his handgun, which he has a permit to carry. As his attacker reached behind his back, as if for a weapon, the motorist drew his gun and fired a shot. (Jacksonville, FL 7/15)
It’s a familiar scenario: An armed citizen with a concealed-carry permit is likely once again to have saved multiple lives. Several customers were doing business inside a pawn shop when a man walked inside, pointed a gun toward the ceiling and announced a robbery. Did the gunman intend to shoot the clerk? Would he take hostages? We’ll never know, because a customer with a concealed-carry permit promptly drew a pistol and shot the robber in the stomach.(San Antonio, TX, 06/22)

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 11:45pmI think there are several reasons we don’t hear more stories about people with conceal carry permits thwarting these types of assaults. First of all I would imagine that most law abiding citizens with carry conceal permits are not hanging out at fast food joints in the worst parts of town at 4am in the morning and it seems that most people with conceal carry permits are responsible law abiding citizens who avoid places and situations that might result in them having to use their firearm in self defense.

Posted on November 6, 2011 at 1:27amBecause as permits holders we dont put ourselves in a situation to have to make that decision, that place looked highly suspect. when you carry you become very aware of your surroundings. its just like the left wanting to take away gun rights, legal purchasers owners are not commiting crimes, or out on the prowel looking to use thier weapon.

If you join the NRA, they will send you a magazine every month. In that magazine, there will be a page called The Armed Citizen with stories from across the nation where law abiding people use a gun to stop a crime. The MSM does not push these stories, but they show up in your local papers every day.

Report Post »If you had a gun and you were attacked like this, you would be so busy defending yourself you would not have time to draw it. If you were watching this happen MOST people would back away in shock and horor, excluding Marines who are trained to run to the sound of gunfire and not away from it. Thank God for the Marines, army , navy and airforce…….And thank YOU for serving.

Thank goodness to Rep Huff from Lampasas Texas for getting the CHL bill pass here in Texas that allows us to carry. That is one situation where I hesitate to pull my weapon out and shoot those skum bags. There is no better place than 6 feet under tera firma. Videos like this can make an honest law abiding citizen become VIOLENT. I have 36 years (Retired) from the US Army so believe me I would be doing society a favor.

This is the peoples republik of new jersey-no concealed carry permits are issued here. None! Unless, of course, you know somebody but people who know somebody don’t hang in chicken restaurants in paterson. And our jolly law enforcement officers have absolutely no sense of humor when it comes to gun law violations-lock ‘em up, search their car and home, confiscate their weapons then ask questions. Only criminals carry here.

Not only Marines are trained to advance. The old US Army Cavalry saying “When in doubt, ride towards the sound of the guns.” is still practiced in the US Army. There is also an old axiom: Charge a gun. Run from a knife.

All good people should get training, and exercise their 2nd Amendment rights immediately. The disintegration of social order is accelerating. You don’t want to wait until your family is engulfed in a similar crisis, where your only defense is a pathetic plea for reason or mercy.

From AmericanStrega:
Report Post »I don’t know about TIMEJ31, but I carry concealed, and if I were put into a situation where pulling and discharging my weapon would save my life or the life of someone else, I would certainly do it. I would even do it to save your life. You Sir, are obviously missinformed as to why people take the time, make the effort, and shell out the cash to get a carry permit. We do it in order to preserve our life and the lives of others from people like those in the above video. I hope that I never have to unholster my weapon and defend myself or anyone else. But I will do it if needs be. I also hope that you are never a target of the people like those in the above video when there isn’t a person around you that is legally carrying a concealed weapon. Good luck and God Bless.
