Police in New York are hunting for a man who attacked and possibly abducted a woman outside a Long Island Rail Road station last week in a violent assault that was all caught on surveillance video.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority said the attack occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. at the Ronkonkoma Station March 4.

Surveillance video shows the man first knocking the woman down after she exited a train. The two exchange words inside a nearby shop before he forces her to leave, knocking her down again when they get outside and dragging her off camera.

Witnesses said the man then placed her over his shoulder and put her into the backseat of his Nissan Altima against her will before driving off in the direction of the Long Island Expressway, the New York Post reported.

The MTA released the footage in the hope of eliciting the public’s help in finding the suspect. Police said he is a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10 and approximately 185 to 210 pounds.

What’s ironic and sad about this story, is, there is a MTA/LIRR Police Precinct located in the station itself, and visible to, the EXACT LOCATION where thIs beating and kidnapping occurred !

But then, as with other MTA Law Enforcement Issues, they only come out from their “hiding place” there at the station, when they have to…it’s not like they are a clear, physical presence on the platforms at this particular station !

Someone, on duty, was “Cooping”…sleeping and not looking at the cameras !

This goes on every day in Oxnard, CA. I used to watch out the window on sixth and Oxnard BLVD, as men dragged out women from their hiding places, threw them in a car, and drove off with them. My window and the window of a witch were on the same side, and the events occurred usually behind a restaurant. The police really didn’t care because there were worse things going on like stabbings and Mexican gang warfare. The Christians got together with the police and held regular prayer meetings over the city.

Is a ‘hunt” in order? It would be good to know the lady is ok but when police are called
someone usually gets charged. We have really no idea what just happened there but I’ve seen worse grade school fights. It appears that she was not in fear for her life. Bad behavior for sure but should this really be charged as a crime costing taxpayers unknown amounts of dollars.
What was the damage? Are we too sensitive given Sharia Law as a comparison?

Unless the victim contacts friends or family less than weekly, the police know who the victim is.

The cameras didn’t catch the license plate? Can;t the image be taken for enhancement. Worse case scenario take the image of the tags to ***NASA*** . That has been done before.

Even a few letters of the license plate & & the color & make of car should result in a match during a database search. Unless there were no tags on the car or there were stolen plates on the car.

Possible kidnapping is not a crime. Kidnapping is. Did that really look like a kidnapping?
I dont think the the law need be involved in every altercation.
Striking someone is not necessarily assault.
We did not see what happened to the left of the window. If the roles where reversed would it be the same?
Is there anything that she might have done to warrant being struck? Some will say yes, some will say no, some will say maybe.
I dont condone any of this. Just like racism there are those that will taunt a gorilla but only when its caged. The law being the cage. They hide behind it and abuse the process and use it like their own personal attack dog. To think that we can behave any way we want without any consequences is wrong. If I make gestures at your wife should I expect to be punched or just to get a visit from the police? Hit me, though I deserve it, and guess who will go to jail. This has become a problem in public behavior. It didn’t used to be against the law to strike someone. Duels used to be legal.
Look up the rule of thumb.
I once saw a woman beat a man with a car jack. No charges were filed. I dont know why. Its nobody’s business unless a life or limb truly endangered and the victim files a complaint, not the state Then it should be investigated, but charges should only be filed by the victim. These people should come forward and if they say all is ok then it should be left alone. It is their business.

He is either an abusive ex-boyfriend, boyfriend or husband; regardless of which he is, he needs to be arrested. It won’t be long before this woman will be found dead.

If she turns up dead will you recognize the crime then or will you chalk it up to the B deserved it? The one thing men fail to realize is they generally defend the bad behavior of other men when it comes to women.

We think someone might have beat his wife last night so from now on we need to have a law that everyone in the country show up daily at the police station and both party’s will have a medical examination daily before you go out into the workplace. Farfetched? Wait and see.
What if she had just swallowed a whole bottle of pain pills and was refusing to go to the emergency room?
What if she had just bit his wanker half off to the left of the window?
I suppose he would still be wrong but would your opinion of the situation change?
What if she had been tazing him for 27 blocks?
What if it was exactly the way you think it happened?
We dont know. This is exactly why people dont involved in domestic disputes.
I am not saying what he did is ok. AT all. We dont have all the facts.
What we want to know is if she is ok.
The police should make make a public statement and ask her to come in and let them know if she is ok. If she is ok and doesn‘t want to make charges it should be nobody’s business and I will bet you when this comes out they will both tell you the same thing. To me it looks like a domestic quarrel not a kidnapping. Not what the headline reads. Thats my opinion.

Assault – to create apprehension of an imminent harmful of offensive touching
Battery – a harmful or offensive touching (no intent needed)
Kidnapping – confinement of a person that involves either some sort of movement or concealment of the victim in a secret place
Aggravated Assault – an assault plus the use of a deadly or dangerous weapon OR with the intent to rape, maim, or murder.

MilDot. When I was stationed in NYC in the early ’60s, a man came upon a rape in progress. He went back to his pickup (he lived in upper state NY) and got his rifle. After he stopped the rape, the rapist attacked him and he plugged him (he lived). The hero was arrested for discharging a weapon with the city limits. In another case a couple of months later, a man heard someone in his appartment. He got his (legal) .32 before going into the hall and turning on the light. The bugler had a 10″ knife and attempted to stab him. He shot him and NYC finest arrested him, again for discharging a weapon.

After spending weeks in jail and having to hire attorneys (after the apartment dweller had already lost his job), they were released for acting in self-defense. The DA protested the first man’s release because he could have walked away and thereby not been in danger. He said so on the court house’s steps. I was there and heard him, but his comments didn’t appear in any newspaper I saw. (I knew the woman who was being raped and was there supporting her.)

I was never so glad to get orders away from an assignment in my Navy career.

Of course it all depends on the state and city and its laws, but people are generally allowed to defend themselves against any attack they deem life threatening.

How you treat a woman? We’ve had hammered into us for decades that men and women should be treated the same, equally, and now you want special rules for the treatment of women. I don’t think so. They say, be careful what you ask for, you might get it. Change your outrage from “how YOU treat a woman” to “how YOU treat a another person” and I might agree with you.

What a stupid remark. You want to bunch all people into one group. The women’s lib movement was not and is not supported by all men and women. If I believe that women should be treated differently, that is my right to think so. Women are more delicate than men and should be treated that way. I do agree with you that no one has the right to strike another person. But you should not conclude that all women are for the women’s lib movement, which most of us realize now is not about supporting women, but designed to breakdown the traditional family. Furthermore- the only reason the women’s lib movement was able to flourish as it did is because many men at the time allowed the mistreatment of women to continue. A lot of men believed that is was okay to hit their wives. She was forced to stay home with the kids and then was put down for doing just that. If more men saw the value in what she did, then perhaps the women’s lib movement would not have gained the traction that it did.

Women should submit themselves to their man, as they do to Christ, if they dont, they get punished. Someone has to lead, a family is not a democracy. Its not only biblical, its natural. Just be a woman, do what a woman does, and find a good man.. and you will be happy. If you try to take on a mans task, in a mans world… you wont be happy.. simple as that.

What a load of crap. The overwhelming majority of men did not mistreat their wives. Very few men have ever thought it was okay to hit their wives (except for Muslims). Very few women were forced to stay home – that’s just what they grew up to expect and what was available to them. Women began working outside the home for two main reasons:

      1. Our economy began creating the kind of work most women could actually do, given their physical limitations.
      2. New products, such as low cost prepared foods, washers and dryers and low cost clothing gave women the kind of time needed to work outside the home.

It was the economy that gave women the freedom to have careers, not the women’s lib movement. The women’s libbers just exploited it for their own gain.

You know, this is probably just a father or husband coming to get his out of control daughter or wife. I am against the cops micro-managing family issues and injecting the govt goons further and further into our lives. Instead of being out catching real criminals (like most politicians and drug dealers) they are coming into our homes and interfering with our private lives. Is that what you people want? Do you really? And notice, most of the time it is the guy that gets dragged away. The women and girls NEVER do anything wrong. I have seen instances where a husband is dragged off and the cops then leave their personal phone number with the women. Yeah, to protect and to serve-ha.

Wow- I find it fascinating that you draw such a conclusion. From the video, the only person who seems out of control is the man.

I find it shocking that they actually reported the suspect is black,I haven’t heard that in many years and an investigation into the use of that word will be imminent.

You mean the MTA actualy reported that it was a “black” male ? The nerve of the racist reporters ! I can see their sponsors linning up to leave already. Oh, wait….this is New York. This type of behaviour is glorified there. The attacker was probably the victim of some conservative abuse earlier in his childhood. If he’s under the age of 26, then he will probably be tried as a juvenile if caught.

Racist is when you hate someone specifically and purely FOR being their race, not MENTIONING that you’re a certain race. If I say you’re a green apple, it doesn’t mean I hate you. Besides, who cares?

The only reason they put this in a police report is because color of skin is a major factor of someone’s personal appearance. Searching for a white robber rather than a black robber (or the other way around) will get you nowhere, because you imagine a completely different person when you’re searching for a black robber instead of a white one.

It‘s sad that in human society anyone actually has to care about saying he’s black anymore than saying that someone has nice-colored eyes.

Like I said, why does anyone have to care anyways?

It started when she got off a train and continued inside a shop before moving back outside, and no body helped her. Wow. Oh wait that’s right because in the gunless environment of New York City, only the criminals and the cops have the guns. I hope the poor woman is still alive.

I can honestly say I would have called 911 on her behalf. BUT I would not have gotten in between the two of them. WHY? Because it just so happens that I tried to stop a guy from beating up his girlfriend once. I DID NOT HIT HIM EVEN ONCE, but just because I was trying to intevene, the man AND his girlfriend beat the crap out of me. AND GUESS what happened when the cops showed?? TWO against one with the stories, so the BEAT UP WHITE GUY (me) goes to jail. IT TOOK almost two years to get straightened out and keep my name clear of a criminal record. I now live by the motto, “NO GOOD DEAD GOES UNPUNISHED”

I fell bad for this girl, I hope that dude *falls* in front of one of those trains.

Things will only get worse unfortunately and the crimes more violent and more often. I hope they find this lady and I hope the guy gets what is due him.

From just watching this tape it appears they know each other. The perp’s girlfriend perhaps? You would think if she didn’t know the guy she would be acting a lot more terrified and doing a better job of trying to get away than what she is doing.

How do you know it is not his out of control daughter that he is trying to prevent from doing a little hooking? How do you know he is not a concerned and loving parent wanting his daughter to be inside studying or any other wholesome activity besides being on the street? Yeah, they probably have 200 cops looking for this guy and they don’t even know the real story yet. But, even if it IS a father bringing his out of control daughter or wife home, the cops are going to shoot first and ask questions later. It is what they always do. And they will charge him with “felonious assault with intent to kill” for grabbing the chicks arm. See what I mean folks?-Nah, you don’t.

@mil-dot: If you watch the very beginning of the tape as soon as the woman walks out of the station the man immediately punches her in the stomach knocking her to the ground. Definitely not the act of a loving father toward his daughter.
