Police Arrest RNC Protester With ‘Full-Size’ Machete Strapped to His Leg

Florida police say they have arrested a Republican National Convention protester with a “full-size” machete strapped to his leg, according to Bay News 9.

The alleged protester, 31-year-old Jason T. Wilson of Tallahassee, apparently refused to stop when asked to by officers as he walked into the official RNC event zone.

When authorities caught up to him, he allegedly said he “did not have” to stop and was allowed to carry “whatever he wanted.”

When officers tried to physically stop him, pointing out that there are certain prohibited items not allowed in the event zone, Wilson allegedly began “resisting arrest” and was physically restrained.

The event follows a slightly more disturbing string of arrests last week, when assumed protesters were caught with a BB gun, a large machete, a pocket knife, tin snips, and a pry tool, according to Bay News 9.

They also had what is being described as “anti-government t-shirts,” bandanas, black gloves, and putty used for securing masks.

One of the men, 19-year-old Trevor Swanson, is already prohibited from having weapons because of a domestic violence injunction.

Anticipating large numbers of protesters and delinquents, Tampa Bay police reportedly cleared out an entire jail for the Republican National Convention.

“We don’t know what to expect,” Colonel Jim Previtera told WFTS-TV, adding:  “So we are prepared with a staff that can handle the most serious cases.”

Next year will be pretty nasty.
If Obama “wins” these OWS sociopaths will become his political and propaganda police, he will put them in charge of censorship and indoctrination, while the 820,000 violent black male convicts he will release by executive order will become his Black Stormtroopers militia.

If by miracle Romney is elected POTUS, these OWS degenerates will become terrorists carrying out terrorist attacks and sabotage operations. America will look pretty much like Syria.
      Be prepared.

It won’t get that far. It is looking more and more likely that we will be attacked soon. American patriots are turning out to be much more resilient than the global elite imagined. So here comes plan ‘B’. I think it will be some plan out of N.Korea or russia that involves covert action of some sort…and then there is the jihadist element…could they smuggle in a half dozen suitcase nukes? Yes, if they had them. Can they get them from Russia? Maybe. As we get farther into a NWO, the target on our back will get clearer and clearer. We are the enemy that everyone has in common.

One gentleman in the comments said the knife is a “bolla knife” which is intended to kill people. Presumably he meant what a second commenter offered, that it is “bolo knife.“ But bolo knives are primarily used for ”cutting vegetation.”

Another commenter said that it is most likely a khukuri knife (aka, a kukri.) It is indeed almost certainl a kukri, as can be seem in the curve of the blade. That said, I am no expert.

I would be curious as to his intent. Why would he bring it concealed into a protected area, lacking vegetation. You never know though, it *could* be for self defense even if that seems unlikely.

“I’d suggest all of you start practicing a martial art. Taekwondo is the most complete.”

If you want to pay money, and earn a pretty colored belt, then Taekwondo is just fine. If you want to be a fighter, learn to box and wrestle. Taekwondo for the most part is so watered down, it is fit for kata, and point sparing. When your martial art does not allow punching your fellow man in the jaw, it is lacking. You will notice if you watch MMA, it is the boxing, muay thai, Greco Roman Wrestling, and ground fighting (regardless if you call it grappling BJJ, or another name) that wins the fight.

      To each his own though.

Well WOODYEE, can’t help you with what type of protester they were, but I live in the area and can shed a little light. The jail that was closed for this intimate gathering of “peaceful protestors” I believe was Orient road jail. They moved all the inmates to Falkenburg Jail just to make room so they could make our guests feel welcome! Seriously though, they (Law enforcement) ain’t playin around. I was downtown yesterday and all the federal buildings are completely fenced off and the LEO,s guarding them are fully tooled up and tacked out. There are snipers on the roofs of several buildings and even some armored vehicles. Any peaceful protestors had better be just that, “peaceful” You have Law enforcement from all over the state and if that isn’t enough, MacDill Air Force Base is base of operations for CENCOM as well as Spec.Ops. I’m thinkin that leaving their Moltovs in the trunk is probably a real good idea

I didn’t read in this story that the perp had threatened the officers with his edged weapon. The mope in NY city brandished his knife and threatened the responding officers. If you knew anything about the effects of bullets on a charging perp with a knife, you would realize that a heart shot will still allow up to 14 seconds of aggression on the part of the perp. That would allow for him covering quite a distance while having been shot through the heart. The police, and those of us who carry, are trained to continue to shoot an attacker until such time that the threat has ceased completely. It doesn’t mean shooting once and hoping for the best. Educate yourself at least to the level of modern LEO’s and then you can pass judgment.

RJJ. Not at all familiar with palmetto bugs. They seem to be as annoying as the sand fleas at P.I.
BTW. Loved your “Lighten’ Up Francis” post last night.Speaking of fargin iceholes, Where’ Wango?

DEFCON4, I posted that same video for GUMS’ sake this evening too. He’s been all over the Ron Paul, Romney story ******* all over everybody. Claims to be conservative though.
Palmetto bugs surprised me back in ‘73 when I moved to Tampa. Nasty critters. It’s good to keep a couple of cats in the house. They will make quick work of them.
WANGO, just pulled up his profile page here, and it looks like the last post he made was to me on The 0bama Team Strikes Back At Romney. Gonna have to jump over there and check out the whole context.
Oh yeah, if you are wondering about somebody’s most recent posts, just type their correct site name into your search engine with The Blaze next to it. The first hit should be their Blaze Profile page. Then you can check for their latest posts. Well, off to see WANGO, Cheers.

DEFCON4, Should have read WANGO’s profile page more thoroughly. His comment was aimed at somebody else, just on a thread that I started. It was posted today, but as shallow as most of his comments.

RJJ! Used to live near Tampa! Often rudely awaken at night by my cat crunching into one of those flying bastiges!

What happened to all of the peace and love hippies that are supposed to be the occupiers? Aren‘t they all pacifist democrats who look out for everyone’s best interest?

I know, leftist and anarchist protesterst are going to be violent and antagonistic and it is all the republicans fault. Good one, and when the cops arrest them it will be because of the police state. It all makes sense now. We have a right to protest is what they all spout but they forget about the peaceful part convienantly.

yes, why yes they are. They go to a gathering and some person shows up with a large knife. Most likely in your world this person was only there to slice / dice before convention snacks. I hope you get the world you want George and it is worth all the billions you will spend for it.

Evidently, they’re against the 1%….and they’re just too stupid to know that in the Obama global agenda, they are part of the 1% as well. They protest against themselves.

Wait a second. Wasn’t it the teabaggers that brought assault rifles to an Obama protest? SO not only are you hypocritical, you are advocating murder as well. Secondly, since when does the Constitution allow the 2nd amendment to be modified for the RNC? Why do you hate this Country and its Constitution? You people advocating for violence against peaceful protesters have some serious problems
