Police Search for Missing 6-Year-Old Arizona Girl

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The overnight disappearance of a 6-year-old Arizona girl triggered a massive search Saturday by scores of police, FBI agents and a large contingent of deputy U.S. Marshals as officials investigated the possibility that she was kidnapped or just wandered off.

First-grader Isabel Mercedes Celis’s parents last saw her in bed at 11 p.m. Friday, and they discovered her missing at about 8 a.m. Saturday, Tucson police spokeswoman Sgt. Maria Hawke said.

Police continued to search an area of Tucson around East Broadway Boulevard and Craycroft Road into the evening using street patrols, canines, detectives and a helicopter.

Friends of the family, meanwhile, fanned out to distribute fliers with a photo of Isabel, KVOA-TV in Tucson reported.

“We’re really surprised or shocked that anything like this could happen to our family,” the girl’s uncle, Justin Mastromarino, told the television station.

Hawke said investigators were looking into all potential scenarios, including the possibility that Isabel got up and wandered out of the home she shares with her parents and two brothers or that she was kidnapped.

Investigators also were examining every door and window of the house for signs of a break-in, Hawke said.

Both parents live in the home, so police had no indication a child custody dispute was involved but weren’t completely ruling it out.

“Because of the possibility existing that this child could have been abducted, we‘re treating it as if it’s that significant,” Hawke said Saturday afternoon. “We don’t want to be caught behind the ball by not exploring that possibility.”

The working-class neighborhood of single-family homes is sandwiched between a large shopping mall to the east and businesses and a Catholic school to the west.

Hawke says at least 75 law enforcement officers were involved, possibly as many as 100, as more resources continue to arrive to help in the search and investigate the disappearance.

Isabel is described as just under 4-feet-tall and weighing 44 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

I live in Tucson and know that area. Tucson is a very nice town. In most of these cases, unfortunately, we find family involvement. Let’s hope we find this little girl safe and sound.

Our so-called justice system probably let the pedophile perpetrator go last year after a slap on the wrist. I say castrate or tie their tubes after ONCE offense + automatic 25 year prison sentence. That will stop all these horrible, sad crimes. God bless and sustain this family as they go through this real hell on earth.

That part of Tucson isn’t the best part of town. Not the worst either, but a lot of Homeless people riding bikes through that area all night, and just last week some kids were out trying to steal a truck in that area. The Police helicopter generally patrols that area at night.

If this little girl is found raped and murdered by an illegal alien, then she will be forgotten as if she never was born.

Far too many young females in Arizona are abducted and raped by illegal aliens. I hate to think about how many of the young girls were found later in Mexico. The best bet is to talk to the parents about which of their friends have been friendly toward the little girl. My guess is that the parents know the abductor.

There is photo of this child on the internet. I hope she is found soon, and that she is safe. My prayers go out to her and her family. This better not have happened b ecause of another illegal alien. They have been responsible for so many of our children being raped or killed. This dam goverment of our is a joke, and this racist POS Obama is doing nothing to protect our precious little people. Hey obama they are Americans you POS, and it’s your job to stop these bastards from hurting our people.
