Polish Gymnasts Incredible 2005 Moves Suddenly Hot Again

Gravity defying. There’s no other way to describe what you see happen below. Jozef Wadecki, a Polish tumbler, is seen cutting through the air, via innumerable back-flips, in this incredible 20-second video. Cheers to the Huffington Post for dusting this one off:

We are not sure when the video below took place, but it is simply amazing. Wadecki‘s two performances consists of so many back flips that it’s difficult to keep count.

Here’s the performance that HuffPo references:

And another one, from the 2005 games:

What he is doing is called Power Tumbling. It is a form of gymnastics where the gymnast compete in 3 events: Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini trampoline, or TnT for short. He isn’t on a trampoline or spring floor, he is on a rod floor (which is a floor comprised of fiberglass rods).

My 13 year old son just won the Texas State championships for all 3 events, level 7. Watching this form of gymnastics is awesome!!

@MOTHERSMITH ~~~ Congratulations to your son!

And, congratulations to you, too. It takes a lot of family team effort to make a champion.

Yup, cool to watch … except; He’s on a trampoline … When I was a kid (when the Dinosaurs roamed), we had “competitions” to see who could do the most flips in a row, front and back, it’s pretty easy (you can get dizzy after a while though). The real trick is to do that kind of stuff on a plain floor mat, now those guys are Really impressive!

    thank’s huffpuff … I guess …

He is not on a trampoline (or a tumble track). He is on a fiberglass rod floor. Most higher level gymnast can do all of their skills on a 1.5″ mat. Maybe not as fast, but it can be done. My son is a level 7 state/national champion in this form of gymnastics.

As for thanking HuffPo – before you do, watch what the other hand is doing. They may be setting us up to show how a Communistic system can produce a better athlete…. Too suspicious? Maybe; but you have to admit they do have an agenda. Not sure why the Blaze would even consider quoting HP on this site even when the politics are covertly buried.

I thought that guy that walked behind him was going to goose him just before takeoff. I bet he could have gotten a couple of more flips out of it if he had.

All competitive gymnasts are pretty mind blowing. I don’t really understand the singleing out of these clips as some kind of superhuman feat though. In the context of competitive gymnastics there’s really nothing special there.

@LIBERTYGIRL ~~~ I noticed the same thing when he would hit so very hard, sink into the mat, and fly upward.

Good for him though. I’d never do that even at a young age, except of course while quilting at the same time! ; )

I always cringe in movies when someone goes flying in the air and I can tell they were attached to cables that were removed in post production.
Watching this master gymnast do it for real has ruined my ability to suspend disbelief. I can never watch another dumb actor flying through the air artificially in a lame action movie again.

The human body is capable of so much beautiful motion.
It’s design and wonderful engineering is so awe inspiring.

Genesis 1:26 And God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth.” 27 And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”
