‘Polite Robber’ Arrested for Weekend Stick-Up

SEATTLE (The Blaze/AP) — The owner of a south Seattle convenience store says a man pulled a gun this weekend and asked him for a favor — empty the till. Now, the man dubbed the “polite robber” has been arrested.

White Center Shell station owner John Henry told KING-TV he asked the man, who was in his 50s, what he meant.

The man replied, “I’m robbing you, sir.”

Henry offered him $40, but the man took all the money, about $300, apologizing and saying he had bills to pay and children to feed.

As he left, he said if he ever got back on his feet, he’d pay the money back.

The man drove off in a red car, but Sgt. John Urquhart, of the King County Sheriff’s Office, says officers quickly identified a suspect from tips received after surveillance video of Saturday’s robbery “went viral.”

Urquhart did not immediately identify the man arrested Monday afternoon. The spokesman says the 65-year-old man arrested at a residence near the robbery site has convictions for armed robbery and forgery.

Maybe he just wanted to go to jail where he can get free food, shelter, medical care, job security, police protection, etc.?

One poster said he “should have kids who will take care of him”…….I think that poster might be a bit out of touch with today’s kids, If he has kids it’s more likely they are wanting to move in with him so he can take care of them, not the other way around.

I actually feel really sorry for the store owner. He should get a medal, and appreciation from all of us. One goes to a lot of trouble to acquire a store, stock it, attend it, and everything. Imagine doing that and not making a profit because someone else wants the money. Hey! Robbers and government have something in common.

A lot of people are taking care of there grandkids these days though…. Even if he does have a record, how long ago was it? The guy obviously felt bad about the whole thing, and it ain’t like he was steeling the money to get a fix. I hope the judge goes easy on him. Don’t know about you guys, but I would KILL for my kid if I had to. When you think about yourself in that kind of situation, robing the Shell down the street don’t seam like a very big deal….. Pray for him.

Hey, this is simply a redistribution of wealth. It is no more or less than what the liberals want to do. Steal the earnings from one person and give it to another. Mostly against the will of the person the wealth is taken from.

Doesn’t seem like a criminal, more like a desperate man in desperate times. Unfortunately, you can’t feed your kids in prison. Sadly, if the government continues to ruin the dollar and our economy, there will be a lot more stories like this. Only perhaps people robbing for food and clothes, not just cash.

He probably watched the POS tv show “Harry’s Law”. David E. Kelly thinks the ends justify the means. The only episode I watched (or will watch) had an old lady being ACQUITTED by a jury of her peers for essentially the same crime. The “ends justify the means” is rampant on TV. Watch what your kids watch and censor, or at least counterpoint, wherever you can. Please!

Agreed, I remember reading a story of a bankrobber in Japan who apologized for the robbery as he left the place; later on he turned himself into the police. Also there is a case in Pensacola, Fla. where a robber brought back the money he stole from the bank earlier due to the complication of having robbed the wrong bank. Mind you though, he returned the funds AFTER robbing the ‘correct’ bank.

I heard about this one over the weekend on the radio. Hope he accepts what he did was wrong in the first place and deals with the punishment like a true man would.

Also, by the time Obama gets to dealing with us where “we” need to steal constantly, I most likely will have been dealt with on his American enemies list of domestic citizen enemies.

A 65 year-old man should have kids who are grown up and able to take care of themselves. I think he lied, as well as stole. I suppose he could have found a young lady and got her pregnant or maybe he was talking grand kids, but that is up to the parents of the grand kids.
Times are tough in some places and I thank God that I still have a job.

It’s the same story the feds tell you:
Gov; “hey I’m robbing you, I‘ve got a lot of people who need the money more then you and I’m going to take it.”
Business owner: “I can give you this much to help you during this time of crisis”
Gov: “No but I appreciate your offer, but I have a lot useless programs that need funding, not to mention the union is depending on me and I on them for my re-election, so hand it all over”
