Politicians Demand Apology From Limbaugh for Chinese Imitation

Rush Limbaugh’s imitation of the Chinese language during a recent speech made by Chinese President Hu Jintao may have been phonetic gibberish, but Asian-American lawmakers in California and nationally think they know exactly what Limbaugh was saying: He was mocking all Asian people. And now they’re demanding an apology.

California state Sen. Leland Yee, a Democrat from San Francisco, is leading a fight in demanding an apology from the radio talk show host for what he and others view as racist and derogatory remarks against the Chinese people.

In recent days, the state lawmaker has rallied civil rights groups in a boycott of companies like Pro Flowers, Sleep Train and Domino‘s Pizza that advertise on Limbaugh’s national talk radio show.

“The comments that he made – the mimicking of the Chinese language – harkens back to when I was a little boy growing up in San Francisco and those were hard days, rather insensitive days,” Yee said in an interview Thursday. “You think you‘ve arrived and all of a sudden get shot back to the reality that you’re a second-class citizen.”

During a Jan. 19 radio program, Limbaugh said there was no translation of the Chinese president’s speech during a visit to the White House.

“He was speaking and they weren’t translating,” Limbaugh said. “They normally translate every couple of words. Hu Jintao was just going ching chong, ching chong cha.”

He then launched into a 20-second-long imitation of the Chinese leader’s dialect:

The next day, Limbaugh said he “did a remarkable job” of imitating China‘s president for someone who doesn’t know a language spoken by more than 1 billion people:

“Back in the old days, Sid Caesar, for those of you old enough to remember, was called a comic genius for impersonating foreign languages that he couldn’t speak,” Limbaugh said. “But today the left says that was racism; it was bigotry; it was insulting. And it wasn’t. It was a service.”

Yee has been joined by Asian-American state and federal lawmakers who say Limbaugh’s comments are inciting hate and intolerance amid a polarized atmosphere. A number of civil rights groups, including Chinese for Affirmative Action, Japanese American Citizens League and the California National Organization for Women, have joined Yee in calling on sponsors to pull advertisements from Limbaugh’s program.

An online petition has been created on Yee’s website.

“I want an apology at the very least,” said New York Assemblywoman Grace Meng, a Queens Democrat. But her issue seems to be more with the mocking of the communist leader, not the language. “Making fun of any country’s leader is just very disrespectful for someone who says he is a proud American,” she said.

She added: “He was, in his own way, trying to attack the leader of another country, and that’s his prerogative as well, but at the same time he offended 13 percent of New York City’s population.”

Yee says he has received death threats since speaking out against Limbaugh, including a profanity-filled telephone message Thursday. The caller, who did not identify himself, called Yee a “cry baby” and urged him to resign from office.

Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Tony Beard Jr. confirmed the Legislature has launched an investigation and is cooperating with other security agencies.

He said Yee had received similar faxes in April after he called on a state university to disclose how much it was paying Sarah Palin for a fundraiser.

“We need to stand up for civility and be respectful of one another. Otherwise the consequences are dreadful as we can already see in the death threats against Senator Yee,” said Rep. Judy Chu, a Democrat who represents a large Asian district outside Los Angeles.

Yee, who has a chance to become San Francisco’s first elected Asian mayor, said he has no plans to change his behavior because doing so would amount to “stepping down.”

“It’s just been a disappointing experience,” Yee said, and then went as far as to lament that “we still have individuals who are racist.”

Limbaugh did not respond to the AP’s request for comment, but it would not be surprising if he used his number-one rated radio program to comment.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Democrats seem to have no problem by insulting an enormous percentage of their constituency when they say the Jesus Christ and Christian belief have no place in American society. Some how they think that because RELIGION is not strictly a RACE issue … that it’s “open season” on people’s beliefs.

Of course, this is coming from a political party that voted for a man for President BECAUSE he is a black man (actually — 49% black … 51% white — using the “mother-Trump” race index rule.)

Now our so-called politicians are trying to pit one American against another by pretending to find offense where none was intended. These lawmakers have no sense of depth, no humor, no ability to see things in context. They are powerwhores. They must be barred from office so we can protect our Constitution.

Are you offended? Then go see your spiritual advisor for assistance in tolerating those who are different from you.

Wow, I have to give it to the Leland Yee. He’s figured out still another way to portray himself as a victim. It reminds me that when I’ve been in the vrious Chinatowns, including San Francisco’s that I NEVER see any American flags. But I can‘t recall a time when I’ve listened to Rush that he did’t speak proudly of America and our troops. Perhaps everyone should send Mr. I don’t think anyone has to send Mr.Yee some bread and cheese to go with his whine.

Any state and/or federal lawmaker, who abuses his office to attempt to curtail free speech, should be jailed and the key thrown away.

You must simply understand American principle. Your opinions may be freely expressed, but if you use your governmental power to restrict that freedom to others, you yourself must answer to the American law – that the right to freedom of speech shall not be curtailed.

If you’re an anti-free speech Communist, I will resist you to my last breath. FREEDOM is a distinctly American trait, you can’t find it in its fulness in ANY OTHER government.

This makes you a personal example of hypocrisy and calling it out, although it involves you, is not a logical fallacy. Thanks for that.

Oh, and you can believe that your opinion and assertions (e.g., I am angry, I am a bully but you or Rush are not, etc.) automatically becomes reality because you say it, but that sadly isn’t reality. “So it’s not ad hominem when I am not deflecting. ”

If you mean “I have one sentence of substance couched in ten sentences of personal attacks”, I’d say that would qualify as being a rude bully.

“You took offense to my supposedly hurtful speech but complain when liberals do the same.”

I didn’t take offense, I was simply countering you to prevent obvious sadistic bullying, and supplying to the other readers an example of how to disassemble your rather flimsy rhetoric.

“This makes you a personal example of hypocrisy and calling it out, although it involves you, is not a logical fallacy. Thanks for that.”

Hey Dumbas, the problem with trying to do that is that you likely will not find it. The Chinese take learning English very seriously and there are more English speakers in China than in all of the West combined. Because they study English, the idea of making up something in place of it just isn’t very funny. Rather, it likely would be viewed as stupid. It would be like saying 2+2=5 all day and expecting to get a laugh. You wouldn’t.

Okay. The greatest military strategist of all time, Sun Tzu, advises one to know their enemy. If the commies in China are a threat, then we ought to know more than you do. Instead of assuming egotistical motives that are not there, try addressing the facts that matter to all of us. The reality is that the Chinese know loads more about us than we do them. That is something to be lamented by Americans, rather than worn as a badge of pride. And when you find something that knows more about something that you should understand, the unquestionably wrong tact to take is to belittle that person who can make you a little more knowledgeable. I have met a lot of idiots in China who claim falsehoods about Americans, but I am not Chinese and don’t care about their ignorance, which is weakness. I am an American, so I only care about ours. You mistaken patriotism for self love and a call to action for partisan bickering. When will people learn that the fall of a great country is the fault of ALL of its citizens, not merely the scapgoats that are exploited to deflect blame from oneself??

SO, the song doesn’t even have the word “America” or “Americans” or “US” or anything similar. So there is no way, without more, that it can link America with “jackals”–which is the wrong translation, by the way, since the actual Chinese word in the song is “wolves.” Furthermore, the song was played as an instrumental piece, so even the word “wolves” was not heard by anyone. This is really a stretch in my opinion to call it an anti-American war song, given this information and the context and average Chinese persons’ understanding of this song that I explained earlier. Go google “My Motherland (Wo3 de Zu3 Guo2)” if you want to see what the song’s words actually say. I know that some Jewish people still refuse to buy a MB auto or Krupps coffeemaker, but they are a very small minority. And the connection between the Nazi’s and MB or Krupps is much, much bigger than the modern connection between My Motherland and hardline anti-US commie propaganda. Just sayin’. Knowledge matters.

@ABC- You spend a lot of time defending the song, an indefensible song. (I’m sure you do the same for Obama and his administration.)

You are wrong. Jackal does stand for Americans.

You state in some posts the song was “meant” to be “Anti-American” but it lost it’s meaning. Are you completely nuts? Did you declare this for yourself?

The least you can do is stick to one story. You are all over the place with your “explanations”. What is in it for you to make up such garbage?

Educate yourself. Before it’s too late. Or go back to Snuffington Post. No one is buying that garbage here.

@ABC- You deny the song is a war song, which it most definitely is. That is but one of many flaws in your argument.

      “My Motherland”

When friends are here, there is fine wine,
      but if the jackal comes,
what greets it is the hunting rifle.

      The “jackal” refers to Americans.

@ABC, look up recent reaction to the song, “My Motherland”, from the Chinese. They think we liked it and are stupid.

Sadly some are. Shame about that.

Limbaugh better not cave. We need to stop apologizing for speech, it has become absurd. I hope to high heavens that he tells these people to pound sand, and then does another imitation.

Generally I’m not a fan of being impolite, but enough is enough. Let the thin skinned learn to toughen up, giving in to them only emboldens them. Do the right thing Rush, don’t apologize, and further, rub it in even harder.

Anyone who feels hurt by this or thinks it’s hateful needs to get a grip on reality and drop the sissy “I’m so sensitive, feel sorry for me” act. This is done in good fun ALL THE TIME. Hey, how do the Chinese decide what to name a baby when it’s born? They throw a frying pan. Whatever sound it makes, that’s the name. I HEARD THAT JOKE IN LATIN AMERICA! I agree Bro. Let’s see if Rush stands firm or caves. Times are changing and there are soon going to be consequences to actions and/or statement. If he caves he has truly religated himself to just an entertainer reporting the news. I used to be a big supporter, but he has softened in recent months. Think it has to do with his new bride. Besides…he gives us no future action information other than vote new people in/our of office. I like Beck because he provides the current news…the historical perspective with facts to back it up…what is coming in the future…. and then what he and his family are doing to prepare. I wish someone calling Rush’s show would ask what he is doing to prepare for the future. One last point…Rush says he will tell us when to panic. I think by the time he gets to that point it will be too late. Just my opinion.

Indeed. It‘s strange how it’s perfectly fine to malign one particular group, but not another. And of course, we know why, given the nature of “blond” jokes.

I do get ticked off at the constant belittling and demonization of “blond” people, however, being an adult I don’t run around asking for an apology. Instead, I tend to bring up “gosh, who invented…“ type topics whenever some rube decides that ”blonds” are fair game. It tends to shut down the mocking pretty quickly, especially once I start drawing out the list of “gosh…” ad nauseum.

Your hypocrisy is as heavy as your thinking is light.

As someone who is not Asian but who speaks Mandarin, I was not sensitive to any racist undertone in his comments but simply laughed at how stupid Rush Limbaugh sounded revelling in his ignorance. Rush’s problem is that he makes his listeners stupid, not that he offends people who should really not care what that huge ignoramus might secretly believe about Asians. And while Rush should remain free to offend and keep ignorant listeners, they are equally free to use their speech to call him out as they see fit. I already noted, in case you didn’t read (and apparently you didn’t) that I normally don’t like incivility. When *you* toss out your continusous ad hominem, it is to attack very specific individuals in some sort of “I want to make them cry” type of personal sadisim. He was tweaking a communist dictator, which is political speech. Hope that helps.

Hate to burst your bubble, Ghost, but I don’t have the ego you think I do, nor did I think your comment was worth more of a response. But if I’ve made you sad, allow me to amplify. Rush‘s comments don’t tick me off. I am of Italian descent, and he could go off on Italians all day, and I really wouldn’t care. Full sacks do not need to be held up by others, as my grandmother used to say (in Italian, which sounds much better). I think the Asians offended by this should simply ignore it. But that wasn’t the point. The point is that the selective offense occurs on both sides. Conservatives become overly PC when they are attacked. This isn’t a left-right issue at all. Hypocrisy knows no political stripes. Further, Rush and others that do the “ching chong” bit look stupid and reveal the collossal ignorance that Americans have about China–no, the rest of the world–which hurts us. So between the obvious hypocrisy and stupidity of Rush and those that quickly jump to support him, in the fake quest to reveal the supposed uniquely left-wing sensitivity, I really don’t know whether to laugh or cry. If Rush had spent those precious minutes educating his listeners on China, it would have been better. As it is, the joke is only funny to people afflicted with stupidity and overly partisan bias. Total waste of time. Now, I’ve got to get back to making money…

I did hear the quote, but disagree with the premise. Does that make me out of my league? Or does it mean that I choose to reject the premise? If I hate Hillary Clinton and tell jokes that are really offensive to all women, did I only hit my target or a lot of other bystanders? If I say I want to make fun of Bush and then make the sound of a heart, since, you know, he has a pulse. Or recite a poem in a Texas drawl. Does that make any sense? It doesn’t to me. Just makes him look even dumber since it reveals he knows nothing about who he seeks to mock. But I guess you are simply so smart that this logic that seems obvious to me must necessarily be wrong. You’re right. I must be out of my league. Better get to work now.

“Hate to burst your bubble, Ghost, but I don’t have the ego you think I do, ”

Hate to burst your bubble, but you do. You just don‘t realize it I’m afraid.

“nor did I think your comment was worth more of a response. ”

      Uh huh. Hence this post.

“But if I’ve made you sad, allow me to amplify. ”

You have no emotional impact on me I’m afraid, but that’s pretty much true of anybody on the internet these days.

“Rush‘s comments don’t tick me off. I am of Italian descent, and he could go off on Italians all day, and I really wouldn’t care. Full sacks do not need to be held up by others, as my grandmother used to say (in Italian, which sounds much better). I think the Asians offended by this should simply ignore it.”

Then that’s all that should be said, as it is the only thing you’ve said which pertains to the topic of the article thus far.

“But that wasn’t the point. The point is that the selective offense occurs on both sides. Conservatives become overly PC when they are attacked.”

Sure they do. I wasn’t offended by anything, I simply wanted for him to not be PC, for the same reasons I thought it was great when Carville refused to apologize for saying Hillary had more cojones than Obama. We spend so much time apologize for every pretended offense that there’s little being said these days except apologies. I find it ludicrous.

“This isn’t a left-right issue at all. Hypocrisy knows no political stripes.”

      No question.

“Further, Rush and others that do the “ching chong” bit look stupid and reveal the collossal ignorance that Americans have about China–no, the rest of the world–which hurts us. ”

He was directly insulting Hu, intentionally, and he said as much before, during and after he did it.

“So between the obvious hypocrisy and stupidity of Rush and those that quickly jump to support him, in the fake quest to reveal the supposed uniquely left-wing sensitivity, I really don’t know whether to laugh or cry.”

You really, really don’t get it.

“If Rush had spent those precious minutes educating his listeners on China, it would have been better. ”

      In your view.

“As it is, the joke is only funny to people afflicted with stupidity and overly partisan bias. ”

Ah, sure, right. If you don’t like it, it’s stupidity. When you call people names, it’s pithy observation. Got it.

“Total waste of time. Now, I’ve got to get back to making money…”

      Paid per post I assume?

“I did hear the quote, but disagree with the premise. Does that make me out of my league? Or does it mean that I choose to reject the premise?”

Apparently it does make you out of your league. He targeted Hu by name, before, during and after the mocking. Hu, in case you don’t know, runs a totalitarian communist nation. I find it humorous, because Hu might have heard about it, and he was impotent to do anything about it. I like thinking that communist schmuck dictators feel impotent every now and again. It tickles my fancy. :)

“If I hate Hillary Clinton and tell jokes that are really offensive to all women, did I only hit my target or a lot of other bystanders?”

That’s not what Rush did though, sorry, invalid comparison. He named Hu, he specifically imitated Hu’s exact words (poorly and in gobblygook, admittedly), said he was imitating Hu, played Hu’s words as he was doing it. As I already mentioned. If this is hard to understand, think back to Looney Toon days when Daffy Duck imitated Adolph Hitler, speaking gibberish “German” sounding hacking. Was that “aimed at all Germans”, or was it aimed at Hitler. Hint: It was aimed at Hitler. The Three Stooges did that as well. Charlie Chaplin also… wait…are they haters too? Do you dislike totalitarian thugs being mocked? Heh.

“But I guess you are simply so smart that this logic that seems obvious to me must necessarily be wrong. ”

As demonstrated above, it is wrong. Thank you for the compliment though. :)

“You’re right. I must be out of my league. Better get to work now”

Cheers. Hope your weekend goes well.

Ghost, your ego must exceed mine since you think you can state with certainty things that you cannot possibly know. You don’t want Rush to be PC. Others disagree and they are entitled to their view and you yours. I could care less. I object to the hypocrisy. Conservatives objected to Rosie O’Donnell doing the same bit to mock Michelle Malkin, but now they are on the other side. And you had a problem with me calling out another person, declaring me a bully and all sorts of other nonsense–as though you are the final arbiter of who is angry, mean, hypocritical and the likely–but now you want to defend much more offensive words (at least to some) because it’s on the other side. You are hypocritical and so are others on the right, who like to assert that only the left is filled with overly sensitive PC types. But all this is beside the point. Logically, Rush Limbaugh looks like an idiot claiming he is making fun of Hu with a joke that actually implicates 1.3B people who share the language. If I want to attack you, I don’t make human being jokes. Try again.

Ghost, you will never give it up, no matter how behind in the score. I admire the tenacity, but you should sometimes just concede. You wrote: “That’s not what Rush did though, sorry, invalid comparison. He named Hu, he specifically imitated Hu’s exact words (poorly and in gobblygook, admittedly), said he was imitating Hu, played Hu’s words as he was doing it.”

So unless you speak Mandarin better than I do, which statistically is not likely, then you are not qualified to judge what Rush sounded like to those that know the language. You have no idea whether he imitated Hu’s exact words. I heard it and can tell you that it was not even remotely similar in terms of phonetic pronunciation. Give it a rest. Not only do you purport to know what I think or feel, you present yourself as an expert in a language you cannot speak. Ni3 zhen2 shi4 hen3 hao3 wan3.

But you go on: “As I already mentioned. If this is hard to understand, think back to Looney Toon days when Daffy Duck imitated Adolph Hitler, speaking gibberish “German” sounding hacking. Yep. And that is why tons of Germans in American have repeatedly complained about it, while people in Germany just think it’s stupid. I should know, since I also speak German and lived there for years. But those Germans‘ opinion doesn’t count. Just yours. Interesting. In any case, you continue to imply that I care about the offense or not. I do not. My point is that it was ignorant when Rush did it, and it was ignorant when Disney did it. Cisco and IBM run wonderfully entertaining commercials in Italian and Chinese that use the real words and are much more entertaining. With all of his money, Rush could have tried to really get Hu’s goat by using anti-commie Chinese to make fun of him in a way that would be cutting toward that leader. As it is, the Chinese could laugh at Rush and wonder at the intelligence of Americans who find him entertaining.

I think you have the analogy wrong. The protesting too much thing only works when the person in question is deflecting. I am not Chinese nor offended by the comment, nor am I taking Rush to task for any offense he caused. So I’ve nothing to deflect. Go read Othello and you’ll get there.

I’m not ignoring the assumption, but rejecting the premise. I hate to repeat, but you don’t tell human being jokes when you want to insult one member of the species. And you look equally silly when you do what Rush did if your real goal was to insult Hu, who will likely never play that tape. Rush was looking for an opportunity to push liberals’ buttons and they walked right into it. He wanted Chinese to take offense. I cannot know for sure, but I’ve seen that movie enough to feel confident I am right. It’d be purely entertaining if not for the fact that he looks so dumb doing it. And I really do not like ignorant people perpetuating ignorance–whether that is Rush claiming that mocking the language of 1.3B was really targeted at just Hu, or that you are more qualified than mandarin-speakers to judge how closely he repeated Hu’s words, or those conservatives who selectively call out overly PC senstivity only when the other side is guilty of it. And since you recognize how grand freedom is, you won’t mind me stating that opinion for all here to read and consider.

All of this “offense” is sickening. Educate people about China? Really? While OUR president bows to the president of China and talks about how great a country China is? Our president is submissive to the Chinese president. That’s what is sad. We used to expect more from our president. Not anymore.

Now we debate over a talk show host making fun of the Chinese president? That is so stupid!!

The Chinese war song was played in our White House, calling Americans “jackals”. And it doesn’t even hit prime time news? Sick. Something is wrong with this picture.

We have an incompetent president and administration. And to deflect from this the media is all over perceived missteps in other arenas. Sad. Yet the spotlight stays on the president. His inadequacies are illuminated time and time again. You can’t change the subject. It all points back to Obama. He is destroying our nation.

Butler, a couple of questions on that. First, do two wrongs make a right? If the Chinese song that Lang Lang (or, given his terrible style, should we call him Bang Bang?) was truly offensive and deserving of criticism, should we have to wait for the President to denounce a legal resident of the US before calling out Rush for doing the same (offending people)? Second, does it matter that the song itself has no words or connotation that is anti-American (you can read translations online and they are all pretty close to the Chinese) but that the film that it debuted for was the anti-American thing that no one in China watches anymore and which Lang Lang hadn’t even known about? Third, does it bother you at all how stupid Americans look when they claim a song that is not anti-American played by a musician that didn’t know about the source of such an interpretation (a propaganda film that no one in China watches anymore) doesn’t hold much water? Just wondering…

So, you ask why we should be educated on China and then answer the question later in your post. The song played is not a war song. There are no belligerent words in the song. The issue is that it was originally written for a propaganda film that IS anti-American, but because no one watches that film anymore the connection between the song and film was broken long ago. This is why it is credible that Lang Lang, the pianist that chose it, didn’t even realize that such an inference could be drawn. Knowledge matters.

So, please tell me what the content of the song is, that is anti-American. To someone born after Deng Xiao Ping opened up China to the West in ‘78, this song has no anti-American connotations, and to older people, they’ve largely forgotten any connection that was once there. Heck, the Taiwanese are officially at war with China and thankfully dependent on America, yet every karaoke bar I’ve been to in that country has this song as an option. The fact is, that most people in China today do not associate the song with a movie that was indeed anti-American, but which no one watches anymore. Lang lang didn‘t know and couldn’t have been expected to have known any vestigal trace of anti-US or anti-West in the song because it is known everywhere as a famous folk song, made famous by an extremely attractive female singer who is herself pro-Western. Further, even if it turns out that the old farts in the CCP did make the decision to run this song, I would call out Obama and his team NOT for being sycophantic towards China but for being IGNORANT of that arcane link. This is the same criticism I’ve made about Limbaugh earlier. Please attack Obama and his team for being ignorant, with the proviso that most of the world would view the song as NOT anti-US, but don’t attack them for being pro-commie in this instance. They know even less than Lang Lang about the song and, sadly, far too little about China in general.

Just a few quick points for anyone who might be falling for ABC.
      1. He’s not that much of an expert on Mandarin – he says 1.3M were insulted, but that‘s China’s population, NOT the population of native Mandarin speakers. There are MANY other languages spoken in China.
      2. He’s a total ignorant on Limbaugh and reading/listening skills, actually. There‘s CONTEXT in Limbaugh’s pastiche. Anyone who believes it’s mockery is ignoring the careful set up Limbaugh made to trigger a parodic reading, NOT an insulting one.
      3. Limbaugh DID say that he was attempting a poor imitation of Hu, but Limbaugh mentioned later in the show (like a few seconds beyond our clip) that most of the Chinese language sounds like that to him (and he IS legally deaf, you know, and–by ABC’s logic, therefore automatically feels the grievances ascribed to him by his “group”–and is therefore immune to any criticism on his listening and language imitation skills de jure). There is nothing wrong with explaining or demonstrating perceptions. They are by definition neutral in value-judgment and are therefore inoffensive in nature. Limbaugh has much to criticize about Hu, and about the Obama administration for its attitude toward communist totalitarian China and its leaders. But in THIS clip, he did not attack Hu ad hominem, nor did he assault Hu’s logic, reasoning, or even language. ABC does not understand the huge gulf of difference between the separate genres of pastiche and lampoon.
      4. ABC is also wrong about almost everything he posts elsewhere on this site too.
      That is all…

Really? What is Jon “Edward R. Murrow” Stewart? An entertainer or journalist? Think long and hard about that, “The Thinker”. Hypocrite. And while you are at it, go peddle that garbage on the Snuffington Post. No one is buying that carp.

So I guess these same politicians will be calling for Saturday Night Live, Jon Stewart, etc. to apologize for what they have said and the fun they have made of the Chinese President. THE POLITICIANS NEED TO CONCENTRATE ON GETTING THIS COUNTRY BACK ON TRACK AND NOT ON THIS CRAP…

I agree, this is a major over reaction. Limbaugh was only illustrating how this gentleman sounded to someone like himself,” who doesn’t understand the language.” Has no one else mentioned that it was quite rude of this person to keep speaking without any translation? Please forgive my ignorance in this matter, I haven’t been following this story.

While it may be said that it might not be the wisest thing to do an imitation of a foreign language in this culture of extreme racial and nationality sensitivity, it is only offensive to those who choose to be offended. A sensible adult would shrug it off. Rush does not say unkind things about the Chinese people generally and it is clear to see there was no hateful intent. It is very frustrating that these bullies try to paint everything as racist every time someone has the nerve to state an opinion they don’t care for.

Did we receive an apology for the song about us being a jackal that would meet up with a rifle yet?
