Poll: Majority of Young Hispanics Say Cut Spending, Liberate Private Sector

Poll: Majority of Young Hispanics Say Cut Spending, Liberate Private BusinessA striking new poll conducted by Generation Opportunity – billed as a nonprofit, nonpartisan group that seeks to educate young Americans about challenges facing the country — reveals young Hispanics aged 18-29 favor free market principles, a reduction in federal spending and private sector opportunities.

The survey, with a reported margin of error +/- 4 points, reveals 57 percent of young Hispanics agree that “if taxes on business profits were reduced, companies would be more likely to hire.” Likewise, a staggering 70 percent of Hispanic young adults say they would “decrease” federal spending if given the chance to “set America’s fiscal priorities.” In addition:

* By nearly a 3:1 ratio, Hispanic young adults prefer “reducing federal spending” (69%) to “raising taxes on individuals” (27%) in order to balance the federal budget.

* In a separate question, a 56%-majority concurred “the economy grows best when individuals are allowed to create businesses without government interference.”

* 61% indicated their agreement with “American Exceptionalism” – described as an ideal of freedom and democracy exclusive and unique to the United States.

According to Powerline, the results of the survey are encouraging but not necessarily surprising, as many in the Hispanic community are small business owners.

Does any of the poll’s findings surprise you?

The true test of this poll would have been to also ask the questions of what party do they identify with and how did they vote in the last presidential election. When asked most people of all races agree with freedom, especially those who have recently immigrated here. Unfortunately, for what ever reason the Republican party as a whole has not been able to attract a large number of any minority party, whether or not they are immigrants. The democratic party is far more advanced in the messaging arena than are Republicans. Dems talk the talk but their policies are extremely harmful to individual freedom and liberty. The revisionist history that is taught in the public school system constantly preaches how evil and racist our founders and Republicans were throughout history. Let face it, most young people today only hear the politicians during the election cycle because they are forced to listen to the endless advertisements, they get their news from the MSM, Bill Maher or John Stewart, and everywhere you turn Republicans are the equivalent to the devil. Oh well, at least they still value value freedom. Unfortunately, it is slowly slipping away from them (at the hands of BOTH parties) as they continue to go through life with blinders on and more focused on Dancing with the Stars and the filth on MTV, etc.

In fact, they act like they know what they’re talking about, but they seem clueless when you get into details. The ones I know said the housing bubble wouldn’t affect the economy….. the largest purchase in people‘s lives exploding in cost at an unrealistic pace won’t affect the economy? They aren’t paying attention neither. They get their news from hearsay and the Comedy Channel.

Sorry, but this poll paints a false rosie picture of Hispanics and their “desire” to vote conservative, and believe in capitalism and the American dream… yadda, yadda.

Fact of the matter is, the majority of this demographic votes Democrat and always has.

For example, the conservative ideology that views illegal immigration as a crime is totally abhorant to Mexican immigrants, and they will never vote conservative because of this… they view this as a racial bias that cannot be overcome, even by the most sensible arguments to vote conservative.

Take a look at the California elections recently. Did Fiorina and Whitman win the Hispanic vote? No, Hispanics voted for Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer by a landslide, despite the failings of both these pitiful candidates. And the business expertise and executive experience of Fiorina and Whitman were attacked for elitism and racism against immigrants. Conservativism proves to be foreign to most Hispanics time and again.

There may be a growing number of Cuban Americans, such as the Marco Rubio inspired voters, who are getting on the conservative band wagon, but is it a majority yet? Big “no” there. But we’ll keep hoping that all Americans, whatever their color, see the light and vote for smaller government, less taxes and legislation that agrees with the Constitution… and Obama must go.

On the other hand LEGAL Hispanic’s came here to WORK for the American dream and are happy for the opportunity to do so.. I am going to say they Polled a mixed bunch or the numbers would have been even higher, since there are MANY Hispanics in my family and they are for the government getting out of the way and QUIT being a dictatorship.. The Hispanics come here to the US for freedom and economic opportunity. Many have fled the oppression of dictatorships. They get it! Think about what happened back in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Peru, Chile, Cuba, drug wars in Colombia and Mexico. If the young ones don’t know about these things first-hand, then they’ve heard stories from their parents and grandparents. They don’t want their freedom of speech or press taken from them. And yes, they want to help other family members back home. They also see children as a blessing from God, not a curse. They are pro-life. The more children, the greater their blessings. A very different perspective!

We have to remember that when families pick up, lock-stock-and barrel, and leave their native country it‘s generally because there’s a problem (political unrest, famine, etc.) and a hope for better lives. There’s more to life than just beautiful landscapes and beaches, as pictured on House Hunters International (love that show!). Those “quaint” villages may be nice to visit, but actually living there permanently? No thanks!

I wouldn’t be here today if not for a potato famine in Ireland that drove my great-great grandparents to emigrate. Ireland is very beautiful, too, but life sucks if there’s no food on the table and your family is decimated by disease. (Watch or read “Angela’s Ashes.”)

But back to the point — Hispanics get it! Now if it can just carry over into the voting booth in 2012 and get conservatives ele

I am not surprised at all. The WH is so out of touch with the American people it is pathetic! Everyone knows what has to be done and most people would rather do what they NEED to do NOW! Most of us live in the real world and even though there are certain populations of people who have been brainwashed into thinking they cannot do it on their own, most people want the freedoms and liberties to do things on their own including making a living with private companies who treat them like human beings and stupid moronic numbers..

      Not surprised either.

I do NOT agree the wh is out of touch, though.

My opinion is that the wh doesn‘t give a rat’s rump what Americans (or residents of America) think.
The ONLY consideration that the wh takes is, whether or not a particular course of action ACTIVATES their bases.

(NOTE: I wrote “BASES” in the plural. That is because I do NOT thinkt the socialis democrats have “a base” they have, instead, many little niches of voters. That is why obama has been so divisive. By dividing Americans, he creates pockets of voters that identify with him, and against his ‘enemies’. The problem is, his so-called ‘enemies’ are Americans! He was elected President of ALL Americans, not just the dwindling voter bases to whom he has catered. Not just President of the unions, the gays, the ManBearPigs/greenies, the anti-oil-ers, the anti-coal-ers, the anti-natural-gas-sers, the anti-job-bers, the anti-whatever-is-popular-today-ers, the anit-everything-ers, and the pro-baby-murderers.

Am I the ONLY one that sees these “useful idiots” (as obama & his buddies call them)…
      are “ANTI” EVERYTHING ?
(EXCEPT for murdering babies – that, they are all FOR!)

The only thing they are “PRO” is abortion!

They have NO solutions, only whines and complaints.

      There are MAKERS and TAKERS.

Statistical mathematics allow extrapolation of a sufficient sample to accurately represent a total population. It works great in non-human matters, like quality control of products. However, people are different. They’re influenced by the pollster, giving answers they that derive more acceptance or conflict depending on the mood they’re in or feelings toward the polster. Polls/surveys also do not test how individuals act when exposed to peer pressure and group think which we know are essential tactics of the DumboRats. So while this survey gives hope, I’ll be convinced when I see evidence a majority of this demographic is standing up and voting for smaller government, free market policies, and individual self reliance.

They don‘t need gov’t “help”, they can hold their own. They don’t need the Dems. They need freedom and jobs, just like the rest of us. I think they get what is going on. It boggles the mind how we allow polls of only 500-1000 people, speak for the whole population or group of people. IMO polls are used for brainwashing or planting seeds of political games.
