Polls Show No ‘Ryan Bounce’…Yet

While Mitt Romney’s selection of House Budget Committee Chair Paul Ryan as his Vice Presidential pick has spurred polarized reactions across the media spectrum, its actual effect on Romney’s nationwide poll numbers has reportedly been minimal. National Journal reports that in the four days since Ryan’s announcement as the Vice Presidential nominee, the polling company Gallup has noted virtually no changes in Romney’s nationwide numbers.
Prior to Romney’s announcement, Gallup recorded the former Massachusetts governor leading President Obama by 1 point nationally, 46-45 percent. Following the announcement of Ryan, that number increased from 46 percent to 47 percent, a statistically insignificant bounce. The race remains within the margin of error.
This result is consistent with the 2008 polling numbers. Neither John McCain nor Barack Obama recorded any immediate polling advantages following their selection of their running mates, according to Gallup. Given that over the past few days, Romney’s numbers have been one point better than they were in the immediate aftermath of the Ryan pick, Gallup suspects a delayed bounce may be in the cards, but there is not enough numerical evidence to support such a conclusion at this point.

Gallup, Rasmussen and Fox, the three most right leaning pollsters out there, cannot get their numbers up. Real Clear Politics is a Conservative Polling site and has Obama up +3.5. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html Obama dipped down to +3.0 after the Ryan announcement, but I knew that would be short lived as Ryan is another fake conservative progressive. Sure, he talks a good game, but he delivers a progressive record. Voted Yes for TARP (even begged for it), The Patriot Act (voted to make it permanent), NDAA (shows he either is for American detention, or does not know what it means), Auto bailout, the list goes on. We need someone with true conservative fiscal ideals, true Constitutional principles and tells the truth! What, you think Romney is not a leftist socialist? He leans so far left, I am amazed he has not fallen over. He believes in big government, and that, sir, IS socialism. You think socialism only comes from the Democrats? What do you think G. W. did with The Patriot Act? How about when G. W. said: “We have to abandon the free market system in order to save it!?” All socialistic! It is progressives! Progressives on both sides of the aisle have contributed to our socialism that we are currently in. Romney is no different. I find it hard to believe that so many intelligent people can be fooled so often. Election fraud, flipping votes for Paul to Romney, stuffing ballot boxes, breaking party rules during caucuses and state conventions, committing federal crimes (which RICO charges will be filed), Obama “Chicago Style Politics” done better than Obama could ever hope for. We reiterated it just a couple months ago here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXhY1j3ZAMs
Romney cannot win without us, sorry. We will not vote for a candidate that commits federal crimes.
Now, knowing this should wake up voters to the fact that Romney will not win, but you all turn a blind eye and refuse to listen. Ron Paul would defeat Obama by a landslide, would give the Presidency to the Republicans, but you all want to go with a criminal, liar, and a candidate that leans so far left, he is about to fall over. Posted on August 16, 2012 at 3:25pmFor months now, the Obama campaign has been trying to re-energize youth voters, the segment of the electorate between the ages of 18 and 29. His inability to reconnect with this all-important demographic, 66% of which turned out for him at the polls in 2008, has been highlighted by survey after survey. One poll released in April revealed that of the 61% of college-age Millennials who are registered, only 46% said they were sure they would vote this time around.
But a newly released poll suggests the enthusiasm among young voters might be on the rise. Unfortunately for Obama, the poll, by John Zogby of JZ Analytics, carries better news for his opponent than it does for him. The Examiner reports that Republican Mitt Romney now has the support of 41% of America’s youth voters. Obama is still ahead in this metric, receiving 49% of what Zogby calls “CENGAs” (for “college-educated, not going anywhere”), but that number is far below what he needs from this demographic if he is to recapture lightning in a bottle.
”This is the first time I am seeing Romney’s numbers this high among 18-29 year olds,” said Zogby. “This could be trouble for Obama who needs every young voter he can get.”
The poll also has Romney and Obama tied at 46%, a statistics at odds with the Real Clear Politics average, which shows Obama up by 3.5 percentage points.

They always oversample the left and voter enthusiasm in this election will be the key. If you want a visual for how far off the pollsters on on enthusiasm, think of every Chik-fil-a on Aug 1st as a polling place.

I get my beliefs from talking to people on the web, talking to people where I live and thinking with common sense.
Report Post »Romney cannot even get Republicans excited about being the nominee, I mean, all of you are saying you are going to hold your nose. That in itself is a bad sign. Democrats that I blog with are all in agreement, they do not trust Romney and they also will hold their nose, for Obama, they at least know what they are getting. Ron Paul supporters, like myself, ARE NOT, I repeat, ARE NOT going to vote for Romney, if for nothing else, the fact that Romney’s campaign, along with the RNC and establishment GOP, committed fraud and federal crimes against them, and are still breaking their rules to disenfranchise them from the Party. Independents are wishy washy about Romney worse than all of you. Ryan makes them look a little bit, but as they learn that he was for TARP, voted for The Patriot Act, voted for NDAA, they will not get excited and will look elsewhere, possibly Johnson, plus the fact that many are already Ron Paul supporters. The youth? They understand that the GOP, for some reason, does not want anything to do with them, so they will stay home.
Now you tell me your case for how Romney can pull off a win, especially a landslide like many of you think.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 8:38pmTARP. I’ll take one at a time. I believe we were on the cusp of a deflationary spiral which would have created a Depression. I think that’s probably pretty likely. If we would have allowed that to happen, I think we would have had a big government agenda sweeping through this country so fast that we wouldn’t have recovered from it. So in order to prevent a Depression and a complete evisceration of the free market system we have, I think it was necessary. It wasn’t a fun vote. You don’t get to choose the kind of votes you want. But I just think as far as the long term objectives that I have — which are restoring the principles of this country — I think it was necessary to prevent those principles from being really kind of wiped out for a generation. – Paul Ryan

The president’s chief of staff [Josh Bolten] made it extremely clear to me before the vote, which is either the auto companies get the money that was put in the Energy Department for them already — a bill that I voted against because I didn’t want to give them that money, which was only within the $25 billion, money that was already expended but not obligated — or the president was going to give them TARP, with no limit. That’s what they told me. That’s what the president’s chief of staff explained to me. I said, ‘Well, I don’t want them to get TARP. We want to keep TARP on a [inaudible]. We don’t want to expand it. So give them that Energy Department money that at least puts them out of TARP, and is limited.’ Well, where are we now? What I feared would happen did happen. The bill failed, and now they’ve got $87 billion from TARP, money we’re not going to get back. And now TARP, as a precedent established by the Bush administration, whereby the Obama administration now has turned this thing into its latest slush fund. And so I voted for that to prevent precisely what has happened, which I feared would happen. – Paul Ryan

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 8:40pmThe whole AIG thing, you know that was — you know I obviously regret that one. I was angry at the time because I was worried that all these companies were jumping into TARP thinking they could use TARP as a way to best their competitors, as a way to get cheaper credit, to get money at cheaper rates, at the expense of their smaller competitors. And so I was seeing TARP as sort of a new tool of crony capitalism, and I thought it’d be a good signal to send to the large banks who were jumping into this thing, who really didn’t need it: ‘Stay away from this, don’t get in bed with the government, even though it might in the short term give you a leg up on your competitors, you’ll be burned. That was what was running through my mind at the time, given the fact that we had about six hours notice on the vote, and our lawyers were telling us that it was not a bill of attainder. – Paul Ryan

This is exactly what I feared with a progressive RINO running for pres, with a Democrat in office lip service to the Constitution is never in short supply. With a RINO administration we quickly see these so called advocates of the Constitution reverse positions at the drop of a hat and quickly pick up on the progressive lingo of “we had to destroy the free market to save it” “go along to get along”.
Just a few short months ago many on this site and others were strong supporters of the free market and the Constitution but currently we see what a lack of principals can do to a movement. The three post of Ryan justifying his actions will be common place under a Romney administration. You will see the Tea movement morph from an organization to attack over sized Govt and into a defense of the big Govt Romney has justified. You self proclaimed patriots seem to be in short supply when the Constitution doesnt match your candidates voting record and agenda.
That is the difference between Paul supporters and the boot lickers most of you turned out to be. Our Constitutional principals are not opinions we express in passing to sound patriotic but rather an unwavering philosophy that will require an unwavering dedication.
I often wonder to what end you will sacrifice your personal principals for the almighty R?

Report Post »Question: can a constitutionalist and a euro socialist compromise if their principals are polar opposites? One wants to be left alone the other wants to force the other to comply. In my opinion we should not compromise in this current climate. Bi partisan bankruptcy, intrusion on civil liberties and un constitutional wars leave no room for compromise for a constitutionalist. That is why you see the die hard Paulinistas. We refuse to tolerate any euro socialism wether it comes from the right or left. We will no longer compromise our beliefs.
I understand and share your reservations when trusting politicians but I believe Paul to be unique in that sense.
Pauls message has been consistent for thirty years. His philosophy is rooted in the Constitution and he will advocate for the Constitution wether it helps his political career or not. You may not agree with him but I believe as a trust worthy candidate there is no politician that can hold a candle to Paul. He is truly a principled man who will speak “unpopular” opinions that are necessary for the American population to hear (the debt, the Fed, TSA, NDAA ect).
Paul has been the most consistent Constitutionalist in our modern age of politics and it is a damn shame he is not universally recognized by Americans as a man who will not cater to the popular opinions of the day, quite the opposite after his decades of standing for the constitution popular opinion has finally started to move in Pauls direction.
