There are a lot of words that can be used to describe the porn industry. Now, among them, “philanthropy” may also be appropriate. This month, Porn production company Girlfriends Films has given $1,000 to the Alan Guttmacher Institute in an effort to protest against ”religio-conservatives.”
“The Guttmacher Institute was selected to receive a gift of $1,000 from Girlfriends Films, on behalf of AVN Media Senior Editor and Chief Legal Analyst Mark Kernes,” a press release from the Adult Video News service reads. “The donation to the Guttmacher Institute is the April selection for Girlfriends Films’ monthly charity program…The April donation choice by Kernes goes towards ensuring higher standards of sexual and reproductive health for all.”
Prior to this donation, the company provided funds to Lambda Legal (a gay rights legal group), Planned Parenthood, NPR, the Cancer Research Institute and a number of other groups. Girlfriends Films claims to have given more than $20,000 to charity in 2011, alone.
The $1,000 gift to Planned Parenthood, Guttmacher’s former parent organization, was given in April 2011.
Considering the explicit content that the company produces and offers (mostly lesbian in nature), the gifts may raise eyebrows. However, Kernes explains why the Guttmacher Institute was chosen to be this month‘s recipient and seems to indicate that the company is heavily interested in protecting women’s health.
“In a world where the mass media go out of their way to spread misinformation about sexuality—particularly women’s sexuality—there is one shining light consistently presenting the facts and statistics needed to counter the religio-conservatives: The Guttmacher Institute,” Kernes explains. “As a journalist, I can‘t say how many times I’ve been confronted with some right-wing politician or preacher spouting suspicious factoids about anything having to do with sex, where I‘ve logged onto the Guttmacher website and found scientific data to debunk whatever myth they’re trying to create or spread this week.”
Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse of Concerned Women for America says that the donation showcases the shared values the porn industry has with groups like Planned Parenthood and Guttmacher.
“Such coalitions for mutual support are not unusual because the ideology on which they are all based is the same, that women’s value stems from their commercial worth,” Crouse told LifeSiteNews. “The pornography industry depends for its survival on the availability of abortion, the objectification of women, and the continuation of a promiscuous culture.”
“Moose,” Girlfriends Films’ vice president, claims that the first few days of each month are his “favorite time,” as this is when the company selects its charitable recipients.
“It is then we find out what charity was picked to receive a donation from our charity program,” Moose explains. “The choice says a lot about the person who selected it, and we are always happy to give performers and leaders in this industry a chance to promote their favorite charity and give back to the community.”
Which pro-choice group will the company support next? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Unless some Blaze readers are secretly buying the movies this studio makes there eally should be any problem. Let the porn industry support Planned Parenthood, it’s that crowd who are making porn to show in schools.

Posted on April 5, 2012 at 7:12amYou know, it’s really not hard to connect the dots when it comes to the degradation of our society. Porn companies, pro-abortion groups, gay rights groups, atheist groups, aniti-American groups, OWS, Unions, Democrats, Progressives, Socialists, Marxists, & Liberals are all on the same side. The list is endless and everything they believe in is helping to bring down our society. They are immoral.
You need to take a stand and know what side of History you want to be on.

Posted on April 4, 2012 at 12:41pmThere needs to be a balance of the far christian/conservative right. Using your religious beliefs to intrude into the lives of others is clearly unacceptable and the far right christian groups are notorious for it. The so-called christian political groups tend to be covers for prejudicial, intolerant groups, that if left to their own devices would put countless amounts of Americans in gas chambers for not being the “right” kind of christian or American. Thankfully our laws prevent the Taliban from forming in this country.

Posted on April 5, 2012 at 8:14amI am don’t lean right…and I find your comment confusing. And the far left doesn‘t intrude into people’s lives? Last I checked, there has been legislation all over the country for contraceptive and homosexual rights…which would make millions of people who don’t agree have to submit to those laws. That isn’t intrusive to you? And what the heck are going on about gas chambers…Hitler used gas chamber and Hitler was not a Christian (in fact he burned Bibles, and tore down churches). I don’t know anyone who is a true Christian that would advocate violence…“true” being the key word as people can claim to be anything today and still do whatever they like to other people.

Having said that, am I not surprised that a porn company would donate to PP. I guess you will ho yourself out to anyone for money.

Posted on April 4, 2012 at 12:27pmAn alliance of mutual interest for sure.
While I am totally pro-life and can’t understand any reasoning for abortion, I find it contrary to the rights of women that Planned Parenthood has aligned themselves with pornography not just as we see here, but seemingly on their own publications. I am particularly thinking of the video we saw on the Blaze, which highlighted PP’s own material in their message to young girls.
Pornography increases child molestation rates as well as overall decline in values. If sin nature is constantly tempted, and people are constantly exposed through society to seduction, I guess the desire for abortion increases as well. But in teaching girls to be sex objects, we are depriving them of a greater existence.
Around the world, we face huge problems with sex trafficking. We see porn addicts in America become more visible in their activities to the point of assault, kidnapping and murder, never mind the impact on marriage and the family. America and the world become increasingly sexualized- and the left seems to LOVE this. Sex sells. Sex outside of marriage defies God, and corresponds to a growing secular world view. The false gods of ancient days gained strength in society through similar means.
Pornography is killing families, America, and is harming women. Never mind that abortion is murder- the climate that Planned Parenthood contributes to adds to the denigration of women. I don’t get this.

Scott Banister, a successful Silicon Valley entrepreneur who founded the San Francisco-based Zivity with his wife, has donated $2,500 to Paul’s low-budget campaign and another $5,000 to Paul’s Liberty PAC political action committee. Both are the maximum donations allowed by law.
In addition, Banister has put up a $1,000 prize for “the best short film to promote Ron Paul,” according to his posting on Prizes.org.
“I want something original, creative, and bold with people on screen,” he wrote. Lol.
