NFL Player: Attractive Female Reporters Lead to Wandering Eyes

(AP) — Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis said it’s almost certain that a female reporter “is going to want somebody” when she goes into an NFL locker room.

Addressing the NFL‘s investigation of the New York Jets’ treatment of reporter Ines Sainz, Portis said Tuesday that both sides have wondering eyes when the sexes are mixed in such a setting.

“I think you put women reporters in the locker room in position to see guys walking around naked, and you sit in the locker room with 53 guys, and all of the sudden you see a nice woman in the locker room, I think men are going to tend to turn and look and want to say something to that woman,” Portis said in his weekly appearance on 106.7 The Fan.

The Jets are under scrutiny after a few players apparently made catcalls at Sainz on Saturday while she was waiting to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez. Also, an assistant coach seemed to deliberately throw the ball to players who were near Sainz during a practice drill.

Neither the Redskins or the NFL immediately responded to requests for comment.

Portis said he wasn’t aware of the Sainz situation, but offered his opinion on what he considered to be a female reporter’s perspective.

“You put a woman and you give her a choice of 53 athletes, somebody got to be appealing to her,” Portis said. “You know, somebody got to spark her interest, or she’s going to want somebody. I don‘t know what kind of woman won’t, if you get to go and look at 53 men’s (bodies). … I know you’re doing a job, but at the same time, the same way I’m going to cut my eye if I see somebody worth talking to, I’m sure they do the same thing.”

Portis is known for his outspoken viewpoints, having riled teammates and coaches over the years when speaking his mind. He uncharacteristically stayed out of the spotlight through this year’s training camp and preseason, and earlier in his radio appearance he talked about how much he was enjoying his new “low profile.”

Sorry guys, but I have to say this; our freedoms should not be limited, due to sexist theories about women, okay? I know for a fact, that most men think about sex: every hour, minute or second? If she were dressed in a loose fitting sweat and baggy jeans, with that much testosterone in one room, the comments and inuendos would still fly. I don’t ever hear about men, who enjoy watching sports, complaining about the skimpily dressed cheerleaders….and BTW, they are working too…Perhaps this reporter was trying to do her job to get the best interview, with the player, that most of the fans would enjoy hearing from? I don’t think that it is fair or right to judge her….being a female myself, I do not like it when a man assumes anything about me!

Ok, an attractive woman dresses in tight jeans and a low cut blouse. 60 male atheletes at a NFL practice take notice of her and screw around throwing the football near her to get a closer look. Kinda reminds me of the Corona beer comercial with the 2 bikini babes getting bombed with footballs on the beach. No big deal…get over it.

Everywhere you go, everything you see, filth and sex is thrown in your face. Sick and tired of it. You can either go the way of the world and be like everybody else and think it is cool, or, you can choose to not be like the rest of everybody else.

I have some first hand expierence with this issue, having worked in the Clubhouse for the California Angels in the early 70′s. It‘s the Men’s Locker Room. enough said. It didn‘t work then and it won’t work now. The female press can get thir interview outside the locker room.

Look, the MSM wants all of us to be “gender neutral”, or castrated. For the nazi feminist movement, it does not matter if they walk down the street buck naked, men should “respect” them. I’m not sorry that I like women, the way they feel, and what they do. I like them soft and loving. I love to kiss them and spend long hot nights with them. I hold doors, buy dinner, wash the cars, fix things around the house. I am a man. I am not a gay man. I am not a sensitive, feel good, tree hugging, hippie, liberal, low testosterone, vw bus driving, whimp. I eat steak, drink liquor, smoke, vote, and shoot. Sometimes all at the same time. My girlfriend is secure enough that if I look at a good looking woman, she does not panic and think I want every other woman out there. I don’t want every other woman out there. Heck, I feel sorry for some of the men with these type of women. They are a pain in the foot. Good luck men. For you feel good guys, keep posting how offended you are. I am offended that you are offended.

This is such an inappropriate thing, not to mention irresponsible.

Common sense is truly lacking in the media, if anyone thought mingling sexes in a locker room was a good idea!

Now, can the media stop playing this up and get back to the really important stuff? Like maybe…the falling economy, the march to Socialism, and the government take-over of, well, EVERYTHING?

Welcome to the mentality of Miami, Fl. Never thought I’d say it, but I’m really tired of Latinas showing my kids their entire anatomy in the grocery store. In the Miami culture, your rear end is your resume. Look at her, that’s her deal, “hi everyone here’s me and my big @#$”. But you had better treat me as a respected professional (as I stick my cleavage in your face). Enough already.

The NFL should’ve seen this incident coming a mile away . All they had to do was check one of the photos available from last year’s Super Bowl Media Day. She is sitting on the shoulders of two Colts linemen . Not exactly typical of female sports journalists . Another telling , perhaps, photo is one of her in a Club America (Mexican Soccer Club ) shirt. The sponsor name for CA is clear on the front of the shirt…BIMBO.

Once again the pc police have ordained that women reporters can go into mens locker rooms while the men are showering and dressing, but men can’t go into womens locker rooms. This is basically the same argument people have about gays in the military. Some men and women may feel uncomfortable with either group interacting with them in the nude. If not, let the male reporters in, or better yet, have unisex showers and dorms. Of course some of these testosterone junkies are going to assume the woman wanting to talk to them while they are naked is a Bill Clinton come on line.

Anyone hear of dressing the part?
She had the choice to put on something professional that day, and chose to dress like a trashy wanna-be tabloid model. She knew what she was doing, and that this would likely be the result…. days of free publicity. Obviously the journalistic bar set by sportscasters around the world was too high for her, so she decided to shoot a little lower. She can say “Hasta luego” to her integrity (if she ever had any)

yes her credibillity in the U.S. is shot. She has no clue the this isn’t Mexico and the men in the U.S. when teased hear by Sl*ts like here get tagged as one. Most of us don’t play here games like the guys in Mexico are so willing to be a puppy to women like this. I think now within less than 2 weeks if she dosent come out with an appology outright, her choice of clothes will definatly change. Now the problem she is faced here is that she will have to pose for Playboy to continue to get the attention, and she will have to go lower and lower.
