Powerful Iranian Cleric Says Gays Are Lower Than Dogs & Pigs

The Iranian regime is known for its brutal tactics and freedom infringements. Considering the stories that have emerged as well as the push that some have made within the country for democratic ideals, it’s evident that the situation, from a human rights perspective, is grim. Gays, Christians and other minority groups are regularly targeted, condemned and killed (take, for instance, Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s tragic story).

Recently, Iranian scholar Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli perfectly illustrated just how much homosexuals — and the West — are agitating Iranian theocrats. Javadi-Amoli, who resides in the city of Qom and who has the power to issue rulings according to Sharia law, heavily condemned the West, while claiming that those politicians who have decriminalized homosexuality are at abysmal, The Guardian reports.

His comments were made during a speech to his followers. Initially, they were reported on the news site Khabaronline. The Guardian continues:

“If a society commits a new sin, it will face a new punishment,” he said while interpreting Qur’anic verses about prophet Lot whose tribe Isalmic scholars say was punished by God for sodomy. “Problems like Aids did not exist before.”

Citing the Qur’an, Javadi-Amoli said politicians who pass laws in favour of homosexuals are lower than animals. “Even animals … dogs and pigs don’t engage in this disgusting act [homosexuality] but yet they [western politicians] pass laws in favour of them in their parliaments.”

In Iran, homosexuality is punishably by death — at least according to the fatwas that are issued by most Iranian religious leaders. Even more odd than the notion that such a “crime” would cost one his or her life is the fact that laws governing sodomy among men (referred to as “Lavat”) have recently changed.

Originally, both parties in a consensual relationship would be put to death, but The Guardian breaks down the oddball legislative changes that have now unfolded:

But under new amendments approved recently in the Iranian parliament the person who played an active role will be flogged 100 times if the sex was consensual and he was not married, but the one who played a passive role will still be put to death regardless of his marriage status.

In Iran, homosexuality, faith in Jesus Christ and other non-mainstream ideals in the overwhelming Islamic society, are regularly punished to the harshest of extremes. Javadi-Amoli’s words, while disturbing, are symptomatic of the greater theocratic issues that are rampant in the Middle Eastern nation. Sadly, this is the Iranian peoples’ reality.

      I don’t agree with Iran, I support homosexuals to have equal civil rights as heterosexuals. And while I may be a “muslim supporter” I’m just as much a “christian supporter”, “jewish supporter”, “budhist supoerter”, etc…

      The real question is, who do you side with? The Iranian Cleric, or the Gays?

      I‘d say you’re giving leftists and nihilist too much credit when you call them liberals; they are overwhelmingly anything but liberal.
      As for the evident cognitive dissonance (i.e., holding conflicting views and trying to rationalize them), you gotta remember that ALL nihilist and most leftists can’t resist “attacking the man” or “sticking it to the squares”… even if their bedfellows and methods oppose any number of their sacred cows. It’s the fight that matters, not consistency. And thats where you see leftist and Islamicists meet as kindred spirits: The ends justity the means. Use who and what you must as needed. “Down with West!” and such.

    Islam seem to not really be the religion of peace and maybe those crusaders had it right. Our own president preaches that tolerence or Islam, but this is the most intolerant religion in the world and I guarantee if Islam had the military power that this country pocesses they would use it to exterminate all the non-believers not conquer they would kill everyone. Thank god none of these country have gotten there Iran is trying and they need to be put down like the mad dogs they are with extreme prejudice.

    Yes, probably true about AIDS; No, they aren’t lower than pigs and dogs. Jesus died for them too and loves them just as He does the rest of us sinners. If they repent, believe, surrender their life to Him, and go to Him for help, He will help them deal with it in an acceptable way one way or the other…either by delivering them from a demonic spirit/s and/or restoring them to “normal” from an abnormal defect – whatever the root cause is. Just the same for all other sins and everyone. Many testimonies out there if one cares to search. Yes, He even died for these demonic Muslims. Hearing that there are many over there that are being converted to Christianity…..pray so.

Whatever perversities they want to perpetuate on our children and our families…they‘re still God’s own and not beyond redemption.       You are incorrect. The confusion lies in your belief that Jesus Christ (the Son) and God (the Father) are one person. Jesus prayed to His Father on more than one occasion (and sought to do the will of the Father, not His own will); Stephen saw Christ in vision standing on the right hand of the Father; John the Baptist heard the Father bear record of His Son during the baptism. The scriptures say they are one, but that is always used as it relates to them being one in purpose, not one in literal personage. Reference John 17 for clarity, as Jesus explains this principle to His disciples.

      Now, as it pertains to to your comment and this story. All human beings are sons and daughters of God. You would not say that your son or daughter is only your creation until they obey you, would you? No. God is our Father, regardless of our actions. Jesus, on the other hand, only becomes our Father (in a spiritual sense) once we accept Him as our Savior and seek to follow Him. This is what is meant by the term “born again”. When we are born again, we become the sons and daughters of Christ. Again, we are always the children of God. I hope this helps.

      For the most part I agree with all you your sentiments. Though, I think there is a question of what is sin. Personally I believe that sin is everything Jesus preached was sin, along with what your own personal spiritual feelings are. That being said, Jesus never said homosexuality was a sin. That was old testament stuff. And if the old books were still true, why did god send someone to fix the thinking?

      Maybe for some homosexual feelings or actions are sin, just like for some drinking is a sin. But that is open for interpretation to the individual and I believe with all my soul that the loving father who sent himself as a son to die would not look upon any who believed and cast them aside. Hate is a human thing and I accepted god and was open to his path, and nothing made me like men the same way many women normally do.

      This makes no sense to me. Jesus and God are one in the same, though while Jesus was in the flesh (with the present Spirit of God indwelling Him here), He was non-the-less God. That is why scripture is also correct in pointing to God as The Father, and yet Jesus did create us as the Word of God- and He was with Him, and He was God. I agree that God is only the spiritual father of these who are unredeemed, as they do not have His life within them. But to acknowledge that Jesus is our Father once we are born again (and if you are separating them, kinda weird that He is also the Bridegroom) implies that you believe in the trinity, because it is the Spirit of God that breathes life into us.

      (Of course, since they are One in the same, it was also the Spirit of Christ). Confusing trying to pull them apart…

      God as the Father of re-birth:

      The Spirit of God, which Jesus Himself offers to us (woman at the well, Living Water), gives us new life. But our “taking Him in” when we are saved, is more akin to Adam’s giving up of a bone for the creation of Eve. In this, Jesus, who offered up His flesh (which He offers to us as the Bread of Life), is spiritual food reminiscent of the Tree of Life. For this cause, He was laid in a manger “as food for the sheep”. For this cause, He died on a cross, as the Passover Lamb. And His prison break from Hades set us free.

    What I find simply ironic is that the gay community in the U.S. aligns themselves with the left…the same left that is aligned with the pro-palestinean movement which is supported by the Iranian clerics and Iranian president that wish to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and who coincidentally also believe that being gay is a sin punishable by death.       Actually I know many gay people, myself included, that align themselves on the ‘right’ side. Most however are libertarians and rarely will say publicly they vote republican and are still christian due to the hate speech against them from the right. Some of the left may indeed feel that way but if they do they keep their mouth shut and allow people to vote for them. Perhaps if true freedom lovers wanted their message to spread and to gather more votes they shouldn’t condone sodomy laws and prevent personal contracts between consenting adults. There is a reason why that community will shy away from the right. And it isn’t because they think the left is so good.

      @Xenon – It’s not hate speech for Christians to chastise sin – it’s what we are supposed to do. Homosexuality is sin. But so is stealing, adultary and fornication. Lying is a sin. There are all kinds of sin and God doesn’t raise one sin above the other – it’s all the same to Him. Still, if a homosexual is a Christian and he or she is saved they WILL go to heaven – or the new earth when God destroys to old heavens and earth and creates the new Heavens and earth – whatever His plans, you’ll be there, Brother.

      No there’s not. So we point out sin – big deal. That’s ALL we do. We were ok with ya’ll coming out in the open (although I think it speaks ill of a people to define themselves by their bedroom habits) and we were fine with civil unions so that couples were protected legally. But, frankly, the militants in your demographic has been shoving their lifestyle down peoples throats – and in a most disgusting way (gay pride parades and the activity that goes on there) that flaunts every decent thing in society. But all of that was NEVER enough and now they want marriage – the religious rite that the actions flaunt in the frst place. Quite frankly, people are sick to death of it. Shoot, my best friend was gay and died of aids and I’M sick to death of it! I don’ want you dead or punished – I just want you to SHUT UP!

    The narrative to the American sheeple: “look at those bad, intolerant Iranians. We should not like them very much. This justifies going after them”.

      TSUNAMI….I’m not a huge fan of Iranian culture but I can tell you that most Iranians want the theocracy gone. They want to join the civilized world. They are not arabs and therefore are seen with contempt by their arab neighbors. It’s the mullahs keeping them from doing so. Our biggest strategic error was helping to oust Gadaffi rather than take Assad out in Syria. Taking Syria out would have taken out one of Iran’s closest allies and an important corridor for funds and weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah. It would have the beginning of the game changer in the region. Instead Obama chose to side with his Euro-socialist buddies to preserve Lybian oil to a Europe in a lot of trouble right now. Obama doesn’t think like a military commander at all. He thinks like a community organizer and a leftist. His stock in trade is setting one group against another domestically while pandering to the rest of the world in feilty to the altar of the U.N. and “world citizens”. Bush has given us an excellent strategic advantage by taking Saddam out in Iraq. Had Obama been smart, he’d have seen the rumblings in Syria early, told the Europeans that Syria is the prize not Lybia and Assad would be history right now. Instead..Assad has kept his job and Hamas and Hezbollah are still getting money and weapons from Iran. A bigger idiot on world affairs you cannot ask for than Barack Obama.       I agree with what you said, but I also believe that the Iranian civilian population does a lot to damage itself in the eyes of the rest of the world as well.

      That being said, it’s very hard for me to see with my own eyes the American flag & effigy burning and still maintain an objective non-bias even though I know the media deliberately paints the picture for it’s own advantageous agenda to me.

      I feel like the American people are just being herded once again into a relentless distractive froth. The MSM keeps hammering, and hammering, and hammering….until someone takes action – then they can jump over the fence and point fingers at us bad homophobic hate mongers.

      Remember back in the old days when people were raised to mind their own damn business? Nowadays it‘s like a drug withdrawal if we aren’t up in somebodies grill through social media and the like. It’s only going to get worse. But I digress.

      Tsunami..I’m not saying all Iranians want the mullahs gone. But there is a substantial undercurrent of Iranians that do not want live under a theocracy any longer. Are they just as crazy as their arab neighbors..likely yes. But it‘s safe to say that we wouldn’t get another Islamist regime in the country once the Mullahs are gone. Iran is the key to diffusing the region. Iran is the main financier and supplier of weapons to Hamas, Hezbollah and terrorists in Iraq. Take Iran out and you seriously undermine the effectiveness of destablizing elements in the region. We’ve seen in Egypt that the army will not relinquish control to the Muslim Brotherhood (how long that lasts I don’t know) They pander to them, but they won‘t let them take control as we’ve seen over the last few days in their derailing the elections there. Basically..the army likes U.S. money and they won’t jeopardize losing it. Our biggest strategic blunder was not acting early and taking Assad out in Syria. This I blame totally on Obama who chose to play footsies with his Euro socialist buddies and save Lybian oil for Europe instead. Syria is Irans’ corridor of money and weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah. To address you point more closely..the footage you see are the party faithful in Iran burning old glory. You’re not seeing the large numbers of disgruntled Iranians who want to see the mullahs gone. Bear in mind..Iran is facing serious economic concerns in the near future also. Something must

      How many in here think that all Iranian’s are Muslims? If you raised your hand, you are wrong. Iran has Christians, Jews and Muslims. They also have gays. Iran’s denial is laughable. Read up on Persians all you Blazers.

      If you think that those Christians who frequent this site wants them to die, you are sadly mistaken. Just because we don’t condone their lifestyle, does not mean we want them killed. That is not for me to decide. If you think that, then you are sadly mistaken.

      I think those who post in here saying they would be happy if gays were killed are doing so, because they can play the Christian and blame the Christian, but are secretly expressing how they really feel. So all you lefties playing the Christian, the jig is up. We are onto you. You are expressing your true feelings.

      @Kat – Not so hard to unerstand if you put the real slave/slaveowner mentality to it. Muslims are the original slave traders of Africans. So Louie is just an overseer. He recruits and keeps the other slaves in line, therefore he is treated better than the other slaves.

      @From VA, Man, the rhetoric by blazers does sound similar to the headline. That was my original point. The rest was a response to someone saying I had “dung” for brains, etc… and that we’re not murdering jackals like they are, which is a crock. By comparison we’re killing far more people than any other country on earth. I was a part of it. As for caring… well, why do you think I’m telling you all this stuff, even though I know it’s unpopular? Because, it sucks and I don‘t want anyone else’s children to have to fight the same demons I do every night. We need to look inward and recognize the wrongs we’re committing if we want to return to greatness.

      Except for the fact homosexuality is found in about 1,500 species, with around 10% of mammals showing strictly same-sex mating. In fact, in many flocking birds that care for a single egg homosexual pairs preform a needed role in adopting the extra eggs that may be laid that year. And I can tell you as a studying zoologist working a a breeding facility that some animals just do not want to mate with opposite sexes and have to be artificially inseminated.

      Nature has made homosexuality with a role to play in its grand scheme now, if you want to claim that it still ‘unnatural’, fine. But gods grand plan is mostly against that thinking.

      @Xonom – No it’s not – it’s a domination behavior in pack/social animals. That being said, I really get annoyed with people (and you say you are a Christian) who compare humans to animals. Thing about sex is you have a choice with who you sleep with.
